Mac Pro 2008 reboots / Changes the language
Updated a week ago, and since then my MacPro rebooted several times a day. There are not any special programs it happens in, it is very random.
At the same time it changes my language of choice from the Danish back to the U.S., but this happens all the time. If I choose DK, the Mac switch back to the U.S. after approx. 2-4 minutes. ?
As I write this, it has changed as much as 5 times back to the U.S. language.
When it reboots it always goes back to the same window settings, I'm working on 4 screens and 3 "places" open. I change them every time, but after a reboot - these settings are not saved.

So - thinking that the problem was the graphics cards, I just bought a brand new MacPro (2x2, 66GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon, 32 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, 2xATI Radeon HD 5770) Price: $ 12,000.
Did a clean install of all programs (updated even for CS6) ....
But ... same problem - however, I do believe I have found the core of the problem ..
MISSION CONTROL..
I use 4 screens - 2xApple LED 24 ", 1xApple LED 27" + 1xWacom Cintiq 12WX.
I have (had) 3 "places" that I used, and almost every time I used swipe, the Finder reboots.
When I use Launchpad - same problem.
When I use Dashboard - same problem.
Dont know if it is my setup with 4 screens - But Apple is selling the MacPro to use with up to 6 screens..
Does anyone know if Apple knows about the problem, I can look at various forums that I am not the only one who has problems with Mission Control.
Hope that Apple will soon come with a fix, sits right now with a Mac to $ 12,000 - which does not work as intended

Not saying this IS your problem, but … I just went through avery similar problem with Mac Pro3,1. Here is my story.
On boot of any Mac OP system drive, internal or externalHDD, (Lion or Snow Leopard), original Mac Pro install CD, Snow Leopard CD,nothing. (Would only go to gray screen,apple logo, spinning gear that would stop spinning after about a minute.) But, it would boot on XP drive. However, in XP, on Windows black startupscreen, had alternating columns of two different patters of blue dots and XPgraphics were not as they should be (larger icons on desk top, slow response,different size of desk top (maybe 600x400 when it should have been1024x768). Supplied hardware test showedno failures. Took it to shop. Their better diagnostics showed nofailures. All peripherals (my drives, myCDs, etc, disconnected. (NOTE: they didnot try a new video card since they did not have one.) Still would not start even using their drives(external or internal). Shop tried a newlogic board. That did not work and theyput the original one back in. Shop saidall they could come up with was new processors. This was not a cost effective option and they had none to try.
After thinking about it more, I figured it could be thevideo card: the original 8800 GT that came with the Mac: that it was so bad itwould not start in Mac OS but would limp along in XP. I was all set to buy another vid card one-bay just to try. While doing thatresearch, came across several articles on the Internet that discussed vid cardfailure due to micro-cracks in some solder joints. These develop due to age/heat cycles. The proposed fix was to ‘reflow’ the solder. Figured it was worth a try before spendingthe money on a new vid card. Found thesedetailed instructions on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7um_hZYom4 I followed the procedure, put the vid cardback in, and now it works just fine.
I did not and would not do this until I had ruled outeverything else. But, it has worked forothers and it did work for me. -

I installed LION on my mac pro 2008 and it's alway's pop with " there was a problem connecting to the server " Time Capsule" .How can i remove this popup. My Time machine is working fine and also rename it with less than 7 karakters. But the popup keeps on coming with the old name.
I have a BT Infinity router plugged into the Time Capsule, not sure where the radio settings are?
They are able to use the network settings of the TC i.e. they can connect to the internet via the wifi through the TC but when they try and connect to the AirPort Disk this is where it is not allowing a connection.
I don;t have the drive shared out at all at the moment, is this necessary? How do I do this if so?

I bought Toshiba with preinstalled official Windows 7 Professional 64 service pack 1. And would like to change language from German to Russian.
According to instructions from microsoft home page I could not get the result. MUI pack is not shown when searching for Windows up-dates (some other up-dates are only available, but not language pack)...
What would you recommend how to solve this problem ?

You cant change the language on Windows 7 Professional, this is only possible on Windows 7 Enterprise (volume license) and Windows 7 Ultimate.
So if you want another language, buy Windows 7 Ultimate or be happy with current language of Windows 7 Professional. ;) -

How can I change the language from USA to Chinese? I already select in setup.If it didn't take for some reason, go to System Preferences… and select the Languages & Text preference pane and reorder the languages accordingly.
Note however that specifying a language may not necessarily change everything about a system to being in that language. -
How do I change the language of the installer (Mac)?
I am located in Denmark, and every time I try to install the Flash Player or update it, the installer is in Japanese. As far as I can see, there is no option to change the language.
I guess if there is no option to change language, the installer chooses the language based on OS language or computer location, but then why the heck does it choose japanese!?@hans-g.,
Please do not recommend any site other than Adobe.com to download Flash Player. Adobe.com is the only official site to download Flash Player. Other sites are not authorized to host Flash Player and often host malicious installers, resulting in users unwittingly installing malware and viruses. Furthermore, the first site you posted is being blocked by the Adobe IT department which means it is most likely a malicious sites. I have removed this link from your post and forwarded it to the department that deal with this sort of thing.

The Flash Player installer uses the OS language to display the text in the installer. The CC Preferences, recommended by hans-g. won't work for you as Flash Player is not integrated, nor is it included, with CC.
Please go to System Preferences > Language & Region. If Japanese is listed at the top of the 'Language' list this is why Flash Player is displaying in Japanese. If it's not listed at the top, we'll need to investigate further. Please post a screenshot of the Languages & Region window using the instructions here How to post a screenshot in the forum.

My Mac Pro 2008 has become very unstable. It reboots on shut down, briefly wakes from sleep repeatedly and has resently been displaying the error below on boot.
I've done a fresh install + removed everything thats not essential. Tried a PRAM and SMC reset.
Any help would be much appriciated!

I've been having a lot of problems with permissions changing so no apparent reason. Have you heard of anything like that happening on fresh(ish) installs of Mavericks?

I lived in Canada.
I just got my new MacBook Pro with the microsoft office mac home and student pre-installed. When I order it online, I don't have any choice to select the language. The only one language choice is just for the guide (not for software).
When I open my Mac, I got the microsoft office inside but with French language.
I'm wondering if I can change the language to English because I don't want the french one..Or do yo think that there's no solution except getting the new microsoft office CD with the english edition?
