Mac restarts when using either firefox or safari

mac restarts when I'm using these browsers. I'm not sure what's causing it.
Removed add-on themes in Firefox.
Reinstalled firefox using default themes.
I did all these using Admin rights.

G'day,
Open the Console Application and see if you can find the last messages just before your Mac restarts. Does it provide any details that you can post?

Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

why can I no longer access google from my mac with either Firefox or Safari — both with latest updates loaded. My PC is fine.

Random Restarts when Using Battery

I am experiencing frequent random restarts on my 2 month old MBP. Serial number says it's a week 13.
The pattern seems to be when I have 2 gig of RAM and have been using the MBP for about an hour on battery power.
When I remove a stick of RAM everything seems fine when running on the battery. When running on AC with both sticks it's real random as to when it restarts. With only 1 stick on AC everything seems fine.
Apps don't make any difference to the restart. The MBP reboots when using InDesign, Firefox, Safari, Office etc.
I have 1 stick of Apple RAM and 1 of Edge (Tech Corp) RAM. Both 1 gig each. Both work fine on their own but not together.
Ran the hardware test CD and everything came back ok.
Are there any additional tests I can do to really nail down where the problem lies or is the next step a call to Apple?
I am running OS10.4.6 but haven't updated the firmware or security updates. I also have 2 batteries, both calibrated, and it rebots on either battery.

I've found a couple of articles on Apple's site for resetting the pmu and pram. I didn't get a chance to do this yesterday but will be doing it later on today.

I haven't updated the firmware or security updates yet for fear of battery problems. I might do it once I've got my RAM issue resolved, so I'm running on the factory installed firmware.

When using facebook, Firefox locks up and nothing works except a hot shutdown on Windows Vista

About twice a week, usually, but not always, when using facebook, my screen locks up, no buttons or clicks on links work and I get a message in the Firefox title bar that says: "Firefox not responding". I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba Satellite laptop and the only other window open is my email account on GoDaddy, but this happens even when that is not open. My hard drive LED begins glowing steady "on" when this occurs when usually it is flashing or not glowing at all. It frequently happens when changing facebook pages or trying to close facebook. Sometimes I get a "wait" hourglass, sometimes not. I have tried leaving the computer alone to let it sort out on it's own, and I have tried machine gun tapping on the "close" button. Either way the only resolution is a hot shutdown (hold down the computer power button until the computer shuts down) and wait a few minutes before reboot. On reboot, the same facebook page will open automatically and sometimes will lock up again when I try to close that window. On more rare occasions this lockup happens on sites other than facebook. My computer guru has looked at my setup and tells me my computer is fine and virus free. Since I'm a computer doof I don't know what he is talking about. Any ideas? Is there a difference between a "crash" and a "lockup" or do they mean the same thing?

Computer restarts when using mouse wheel

Ok so recently when using firefox and im using my mouse wheel to search the pages my computer suddenly restarts. It happens randomly but fairly often. I thought it might be a problem with my pc but ive tried google chrome for the last day or so and ive not had one problem. I really cant stand chrome so im putting this out there to see if anyone could diagnose my problem.

Did you try another mouse?
Also make sure that you have the latest version of the graphics display and the mouse driver.
Try to boot the computer in Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.

How to choose witch window will open external links when using multiple Firefox profiles at the same time?

I am using 2 firefox profiles at the same, one for working and another for reading news. I start them with "firefox -no-remote -P profilename", so there are 2 firefox processes running.
It works well, but when I click a link in an external app (like in Google Talk), the link is opened in the first firefox process I launched. I mean, if I ran the "news" firefox first, it will always open the external links.
Is it possible to change this behavior? I'd like all external windows to be opened in the "news" firefox, never in the "working". Of course I'll achieve that if I open it first, but if I first run the "news", then the "working", then I close the news for any reason, now links will always open in the "working" until I close it.

LED TV 40TL963 restarts when using Sky remote!!

Hello guys, My 40TL963 LED tv has started to shut down and restart when we use the Sky remote. No matter which direct we point it!!!
Its never done it before. I have had this telly for over 2 years now and this has only just started to happen.

Did you try with a RESET of the TV set already ? (if you don't wanna loose your channels you should use the "ToshibaEdit" tool to avoid useless work for sorting afterwards, before you are doing this).

Cannot type new outgoing message in utility warehouse webmail when using mozilla firefox

I've always used Mozilla Firefox and Utility Warehouse club webmail e-mail client.
Always worked well, no problems.
Now I can no longer type up new e-mails. I can call up the contacts name and type in the subject OK but then I can't type the message itself. The message typing section no longer functions, it seems to have gone dead.
I'm told this is a browser problem not a UW club webmail issue.
In fact I've checked and that's true, it all works OK in explorer but I don't want to use explorer.
Can you help or do I have to uninstall firefox and start using explorer?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these. While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

How to change the search provider when using the Firefox Home Button Search feature?

In Firefox itself I have configured duckduckgo as my default search provider.
But when I use the Firefox Home Button Search it is always set to google and I do not see any option to change that?
I like the Firefox Home Button Search (or whatever it's called) otherwise, but it's annoying that it does not use the default from Firefox.
I use the Google Now Launcher.

PC restarts when using adobe cs3 (indesign, illustrator, photoshop)

My pc restarts specially when using indesign. Sometimes every after 1 hour, sometimes just a couple of minutes.
I have no idea why is this happening. When I'm playing games, the pc is just fine even when im playing for a couple of hours, which i think is more stressful for the pc compare to just using indesign.

I have 3 Boot Camp installs on three different laptops (2006 MacBook-Win XP, 2008 MacBook Pro-Win Vista, 2010 MacBook Pro Win 7).
I am an FPS gamer and have to know the limitations of the hardware when it comes to being able to play what I wish. I can play only old games (pre 2004) on the XP machine and more recent games on the Vista machine. But to play the newest games I need the Win 7 machine and it even has to be set at less than the higher settings.
My question to you is what Mac are you using and does it match the minimal system requirements stated on the box or in the manual. If the hardware specs can not be met then it will not load as has been my experience.

Finder Restarts when using USB Drive

Hello. I have a SanDisk Cruzer Micro 1GB usb flash drive. Sometimes when I add files to the drive, the finder quits and restarts. I have no problems when using it on a windows computer and it doesnt quit on my apple when trashing files, usually when only adding new ones. Sometimes it quits when done adding the file and sometimes in the middle. Any help!? Thanks
