Mac Safari occasionally forgets Autofill ID, PW and URL entries?
When I click on Google Analytics sometimes Safari will remember autofills the user name and PW and sometimes only the user ID or sometimes neither.
Also when I try to type my web site into the URL bar sometimes Safari will remember and autofill that but often it does not recall any of the possible URLS (STATS etc) associated with my web site.
It will remember sites that I have not been to in over a year.
I have all the latest releases of OS and Safari.
I don't understand why this is happening
i was hoping to find an answer to this issue. i don't want autofill to remember passwords, but i do want it to remember usernames and the like. these values don't need to be filled in automatigically when navigating to each page, but popup as i begin typing.
with no apparent solution to this issue, this is reason enough for me to switch back to firefox even though i really dig safari. i just go to too many sites that require me to log in using my email address. typing it in every time is a real PITA.

StephanieDrag the Safari icon straight up and off the Dock so it goes, "poof" ...
Now click and hold the Safari app in the Applications folder and drag that to the Dock.
See if you can open a webpage in Safari. -
My old mac was requested to upgrade Firefox to 14.0.1. After the sucessfully installation, I received a message saying my old Mac couldn't use the new Firefox and Safari crashes. I have NO browser now! Any help would be appreciated.
Hmmm... So you upgraded Firefox and now neither Firefox or Safari will work? Very weird. I have no idea what might have gone wrong. That said, when things start acting wierd, I always try a bit of maintenance first. About 95% of the time, I luck out and it works.
I use the free program Onyx. I run all the clean up routines. Then I boot to the recovery partition (Lion) or the OS X Install Disc and repair permissions and verify/repair the hard disk.

SharePoint 2013 SSRS SQL 2012 SP1 and Mac Safari 5.1 or 6.0 report issues
I have been try to figure out an issue that only seems to be affecting Safari 5.1 or 6.0 on OSX 10.6.8 or 10.7. I can view the same reports as the same user on the same Mac as the same user in Chrome 27.0.1453.116 or Firefox 22. I have also tested
iPads (iPad2 iOS 6.1), Android tablets and phones (ICS 4.0.4 and JB 4.2.2), and even an Microsoft Surface and they all work fine.
The issue is when viewing a report through SharePoint 2013 in Safari regardless of if the report has parameters or not is it looks like the page just keeps reloading. The problem is not that I can't see the report viewer which is most of the issues
related to SSRS 2008R2 and 2012. I can see the report view and I can even put in parameters. However when I click Apply the follow activity occurs.
On Safari the following occurs
POST: RSViewerPage.aspx
GET: 302 Found default.aspx /_login: Size 0B, Transfer 1.67KB
GET: 302 Found default.aspx /_windows Size 0B, Transfer 1.15KB
It seems like the browser is redirected to login again. If I do this with a report that does not have parameters the "Loading" gif will appear forever with the same cycle going on with the page loading over and over. I did read something about
Safari not supporting pass through authentication in 5.1. However if that is the problem then why is Safari listed as a supported browser, or not listed with that caveat on the browser support page?
In Chrome this same set of step 302 to occur if I do not use the report for a while. After hitting apply the report appears to refresh to a blank report without any parameter values selected. The POST/GET activity mimics what I am seeing for Safari.
However unlike Safari, if I immediately put the parameters in again and click apply the report works as expected. Also when the report loads as expected I do not see the 302 to default.aspx /_login and /_windows.
So what is different about Safari on OSX that is preventing it from displaying reports correctly when just about every other supported OS/Browser combination including some that aren't officially supported work perfectly fine with the same report?That Connect Bug (see previous post) has got a response from Matt at Microsoft. He advised that Mac Safari support for SSRS 2012 only works for Mac OS X 10.6 - 10.7. It seems some breaking change was introduced in Mac OS X 10.8.

So he has closed it as "Resolved - By Design".
Our Macs are currently on OS X 10.9 and 10.10 was recently released.
SQL 2014 might offer better support - I have one client planning to start upgrading in the New Year.

I have a mac OSX desktop version 10.6.8 and all of a sudden I can't get a full screen view in Safari when I ask for help the response is use the arrows on the top right of the screen ... I don't have them ... can anyone help?

I have 10.6.8, as you do. To make your Safari full screen, make sure you have the left hand side of your safari page moved all the way to the left. Then move your cursor to the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER of the safari page, and simply drag your page towards the lower right hand corner of the screen. NOTE: you will see a series of lines on the bottom right corner of the page, indicating where to place you cursor arrow.

I updated my OS X and iTunes today and when I restarted my mac, safari got messed up. No matter how many times I change the preference of the new windows and tabs to favorites and remove the homepage site, it always get back to what it was-- homepage for both and search-quick.com for the homepage site. I can't open a new tab/window with the favorite--and it's very annoying since it opens with the search-quick.com. I've never installed search quick program, and I can't get rid of it. On the preference, the google is set to my search engine but whenever I search something it uses that search quick site. I don't know how to get rid of it and I want to remove it so bad. The biggest issue is whatever I click, the useless ads (mackeeper, justcloud, seniorsoulmates, McAfee, etc) keeps popping up on the new tabs. Literally, it pops up whenever I click something. It's driving me crazy- what should I do?
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Problem with Spry Tabbed Panels and Mac Safari
On a site I'm working on I have implemented Spry Tabbed
Panels. Everything was great until my boss looked at it on his Mac
Safari. Spry doesn't seem to honor the 100% width, and cuts it off.
I have looked at the CSS and don't see what is holding it up.

I have this problem too but it seems pot luck and only like 5% of the time, the website will say the page is loaded but the page is just blank white...refreshing does not work and I have to go back and navigate to the page again

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

So you launch Safari and what? Provide a link to the google site that's not working for you. Update to the latest version of Flash Player. Make sure it's on in System Preferences>Flash Player.

Safari occasionally will crash on me.
Safari occasionally will crash on me. Happens a lot when I am on Google Maps and try to get directions. But it is not specific to Google Maps.
I am running a Mac Laptop running the Lion OS. This started happening right after I installed Lion.
I will go and log into a webpage (like google maps) and all of a sudden the page will flash on and off repeatly and then eventually I'll get an error page stating that "Safari Web Content quit unexpectledly while using the Sonix SN9C201 WebCam Plugin".
I've sent literrally dozens of these issues off to Apple, but to no resolution.
I've downloaded the latest version of Safari, but the issue still happens.
Any ideas????

Your system doesn't like it one bit. Apparently, it might have been installed by Skype.

My Mac is running INCREDIBLY slow, Kernel-task and LR, PS, PSE, etc. are not functioning well.
Hi! Been trying to follow a thread about the Kernel-task and slow Mac performance. I did download EtreCheck and ran the report. I am a photographer using LR 4 and Chrome is my main browser. Both Chrome and LR (or PSE, or PS or Xee (a photo viewing app) make my computer run beyond ridiculously slow. I have so much work to do for clients and I get stopped in the middle of editing and cannot move forward because my beloved Mac is having issues. I did go through several old apps and the Application Support and Prefernces and deleted what I could of what I knew "what was what". I would appreciate any help in getting my Mac back on track. Thanks!

Problem description:
My Mac is running incredibly sluggish. Chrome continues to lag, and the spinning ball is ridiculous when I am working in LR. I did the EtreCheck and the report is below. I JUST cleared out my LR catalogs and now have just two folders in the catalog from a current wedding I am working on. I will have to consider using separate catalogs for my other genres or even smaller catalogs and just make a catalog for each client. Thanks for looking this over! I am so frustrated.

You inadvertently installed adware. You do not need to download or install anything to fix it.

Safari 3.0.4 crashing randomly and on closing windows/tabs
Since upgrading to Mac OS X 10.4.11 with Safari 3.0.4, it constantly crashes to the point I don't use it. If I open Safari and close the window it crashes! It also shows the bold font much bolder than it should be and crashes randomly at other times. This doesn't happen on my newer MacBook Pro, so I assume there is something in the system conflicting with Safari. I'd like to avoid re-installing Mac OS X with the hefty Combo download so any suggestions would be helpful. I've included the crash report here:

Message was edited by: kaltenI have to agree that 3.04 on 10.4.11 is terribly buggy and pretty close to unusable. I've never installed any 3rd party helper apps for Safari, so it should be virginous and clean, but it still crashes randomly several times a day. Closing tabs/windows definitely is one thing that can trigger it, but sometimes it'll just unexpected quit while loading/doing nothing at all!
There's also a major issue in loading pages. A good 30%-40% of the sites I normally visit now don't load correctly unless I 'refresh' the page load. I'm given a blank white safari window otherwise. This happens pretty often and is really annoying. Not to mention that Safari now displays your old tab's contents in any new tab you create (why????) which also really slows things down.
Overall, I'd say 3.04 is a dud. Booo! Hiss!! I want a browser that's not a P.O.S.!! What 3rd party browser would you all recommend? I'm not a Firefox fan (bulky, slow, bad font display) so what are my other options?

Clearing screen elements at a time
hi gurus, can i have a technique by which i can clear all the screen elements at a time. I mean to reset that screen elements. One option i have is to call that transaction once again but that has its own limit i,e 6. other is to ma
