I downloaded both PDFs too and you're right they both say Keyboard Shortcuts for Mac at the top. However the shortcuts listed on each document are different. On the correct Mac shortcuts you'll see some shortcuts with Command and Option, whereas on the Windows shortcuts (which currently say Mac at the top) you'll see Control and Alt on some of the shortcuts.
It's just a typo in the heading of the Windows shortcut PDF.

Short cuts on I Mac don´t work

I have a new I-Mac (o.k. not totalls new since 23 of October, but it is from this year). And I put the short cuts into System-preferences - language and text and there into the text box. I added some short cuts like: mg for many greetings and set the hook into the check box. But opening mail or pages, it does not work when I use them. Does anybody know why this is? On my Mac Book it does work, which makes it even more difficult for me to see what I migh miss here.

Thanks however I have not tried what you are doign and I'm at work on a MS Windows machine so I can't test. In your first post you mentioned this works on your Macbook, so there are a couple of things to try. First is restarting and while you're at it do a SMC reset a couple of times, instructions are in:

If that doesn't work then restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. Apple explains how in:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
After booting in Safe Mode restart normally and retest and post back with the results.

How can I synchronize Photoshop short cuts with a second Mac?

Hi there,
since Photoshop CC 2014 (Version June 2014) Photoshop is supposed to synchronize short cuts via the cloud but it does not and there is no option to do so in the sync preferences. Is this a bug, do I miss something and how can I solve the problem?

Workspaces can be synced in CC 2014.2.2 I was able to upload my settings from my CC 2014 Mac and download them to CC 2014 Windows.
Keyboard Shortcuts and Menus are saved as part of a Workspace, not by themselves.
So you would save it as My Custom Workspace, and check keyboard shortcuts and menus in the save workspace dialog.
You can also use Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets

Short cuts under text in keyboard don´t work anymore.

I use short cuts like for example: sc for sincerely. I did this under system preferences, then keyboard, then text. I add the short cuts there, make the little hooks and it worked. It still works with my Mac book but it does not work with my I-Mac anymore. I have no idea what to do. Anyone has an idea and some experience with this? Thank you very much!

Which OS are you running on both machines? Mavericks removed the shortcuts and you have to manually restore them.

Keyboard short-cut for Restart and Shutdown?

Since recent keyboards and Mac OS X doesnt have keyboard short-cuts for Shutdown and Restart, is it possible to create new ones for these functions?
Also, why doesnt Mac OS X have these anymore (such as when it had the keyboard with that button you hit to bring up dialog box to shutdown, restart, etc).. that's what I'm looking for...
As for the reason I want this.. sometimes my display goes blank and I can't see anything and hence since you cant see the screen to mouse over to restart, etc... if I could hit a keyboard combo to bring up the restart dialog box and I then hit Enter, it would execute that action...

new apple user and new to forum. Is there a short cut to go to a new web page. (on a pc, I type in "google," then control-enter, and automatically the www.and .com are added.) With my new mac, I seem to have to type in "www.google.com-enter. Does any short cut exist?

Yes, you can normally just type the "central" part of the URL (eg "cnn") - Safari will autofill "www" and "com" (assuming that's what you want). At the very most, you may need to add the ".com" yourself. I certainly haven't typed "www" in years!

You can install it on your iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) either by redownloading it directly on the device via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it, or by connecting the device to your computer's iTunes and syncing it to it.

Open the Mac App Store on your MacBook Pro
Hold the Option key and click on “Purchases”
Hold the Option key and click on “OS X Lion” from the purchased app list
“Installed’ should now say “Install” which allows you to download OS X Lion.
This assumes you are using the same Apple ID on both computers.
Lion does not get installed on an iPad. It runs iOS.

Keyboard short cut problems

I updated my Mac and everything was fine until i had to restart it. My Photoshop's keyboard short cut became all random like this:
I tried restarting my computer again but it has not changes. The most weird part is that when i tried to change the short-cuts, it won't work even though i clicked on accept and "ok". Is there a way i can turn this back? It wasn't like this when i first got this back at November.
