Mac software for accounting

Can anyone recommend an accountancy software package for mac.
I'm a one-man-band limited company in video production. I want to do as much as possible myself and avoid big accountants fees.
Apologies, but not sure where else to post this? Any better ideas welcomed.
Cheers

  • Mac software for Cisco Aironet 340

I have a Cisco Aironet 340 PCMCIA card that I want to use with an old PowerBook. But I can't find the download for the Mac software for this card. This page tells me to go to "http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/aironet-utils-mac." but it just redirects me to the normal software download page. Where can I download the Mac sofrware for this card?

It was never supported on a mac and this is end of life and end of support... your not going to find one especially on Cisco's site.  Maybe search online and someone might have it on a file share.
    Thanks,

  • Is there Mac software for repairing corrupted pdf files?

Using Mac 10.5.8, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.2.
Many of my pdf files are encrypted on a sparsebundle disk image, as they are personal financial files.
Randomly files become corrupted, and even though I back up, it is a recurring and very time-consuming problem.
It's basically the only problem I have with my system, and because of the importance of the files very frustrating.
There are PC-based file repair programs. I've come across references to a command-line program, but hey, I'm a Mac user, right?
    Is there anything?
And while we're at it, what can I do to prevent files from becoming corrupted? These are files from my scanner, not downloaded.
    Thanks

See this list for Cameras that are compatiblie with iMovie. Almost all Sony cameras made in the last 5 years work with iMovie, so odds are high that your camera will work. The only exception is that some manufacturers have started providing 60P cameras. These cannot be used at 60P in iMovie (or on a TV set for that matter). But these cameras typically have other settings like 30P or 60i that work fine.
The bundled software with the Sony is Windows software. They do not bundle Mac software with Sonys because iMovie comes with every Mac anyway, and that is all you need.
I think your camera works with an SDHC card. You can easily insert the SDHC card into a card reader and import the footage. New iMacs have card readers built into the side. In iMovie, you just start iMovie. Then insert the card and wait for iMovie to see it. Or you can click the camera icon on the middle toolbar if it does not see it.
You can also attach your camera via USB. In this case, the camera must be plugged into wall power, and you attach via a USB cable.
Follow the instructions in the manual for how to set the controls of the camera during import.
Edited to add...You need a Mac with at least an Intel Processor to import from this camera. Older PowerPC models (G5, G4) will not work. Even with them you can get third party software to convert to a form iMovie can handle.

I can't find it either. Pratgeek, what was the name of the application you used in Ubuntu? Is there a website for it?
probably a kind of necrobump, but i've been searching for flowchart drawing software, and found this topic.
well, mentioned tdfd is the part of software suite called TCM available at least in debian/ubuntu.
it appears to be really old, i could found only user guide and ubuntu/debian package pages on the web, but it appears to be working quite well.
i've installed it on my ubuntu machine just half an hour ago, but it seems to be at least worth to play with, and i'd even make a PKGBUILD if i like it.

  • Mac software for Palm III?

Hello. While I was cleaning out my cupboard, I pulled out my old 3Com Palm III and the HotSync Cradle that I had with it. I was wondering if someone had any software for mac that could communicate with the Palm III. If there is any software, I'll buy a Serial to USB adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The correct version of the Palm Desktop and the HotSync Manager is here.

  • Any Mac software for making wills, living trusts, etc.?

I believe Nolo used to make WillMaker for Mac, but it's now known as Quicken WillMaker and their website only shows a Windows version. Anyone know of any other similar software for the Mac?

Hello! I've never found any software that I would trust in regards to the matter. They are generally a one size fits all type program. If you are concerned enough to be looking for software then do the right thing and see a lawyer in YOUR state. The last thing you would want to do is leave a will/trust that turned out to be invalid in your state because of a technical error. This is one area where adequate counsel is a must. Tom

  • Mac software for Ensoniq???

Does anyone know of software that can talk to the Ensoniq EPS16+ ?? The SE and Mac II were big at the time (1991) and do talk over scsi as I currently send sample data that way. I'm really looking for a parameter editor. I have some "commercial" software for Windows but it doen't work.
    Any suggestions?

oops.. I think we are heading in the wrong direction here!
The Ensoniq EPS16+ is this: http://www.vintagesynth.com/ensoniq/ens_eps16.php
A musical instrument, at the time I think Ensoniq used what we refer to as classic Macs (OS7) to develop sounds. The EPS16+ is quite complex and an editor would have been useful. Maybe nothing exists but there seems to be such a huge amount of Mac software about, so I'm really fishing to see what might have been available.
Oh yes, I do still use and program my EPS16+, it's just as much fun as vintage Macs!

  • Mac software for editing .iso images?

    All --
Call me blind, but I have been searching Google for a fair amount of time and cannot come up with a single software title for the Mac that allows .iso image editing. (Editing = the ability to open and add/remove files from the iso, and then re-burn it.) Windows users have programs like MagicISO (http://www.magiciso.com/) but there doesn't seem to be a Mac equivalent.
    Can anyone offer a suggestion?
Now, in many forums contributors have suggested using 'hdiutil' from the terminal, like 'hdiutil mount -readwrite image.iso' but it doesn't work. To quote the man page: "+-readwrite :: *attempt to override* the DiskImages framework's decision to attach a particular image read-only.+ "
Note the bold text. It is only an attempt, not a guarantee.
Anyway, I can't be the first person to try this. Any thoughts?

  • What is your favorite Mac software for making movies and photo slideshows?

I've decided that I can't stand working with iMovie - I could swear it's made by Kmart. Can you please suggest a better software to purchase that if much more "user friendly" and creates a high quality product?

Can you please suggest a better software to purchase that if much more "user friendly" and creates a high quality product?
    No.
using Macs since '86, I've seen PaintBoxes and Quantel systems at work, sit aside when Masters used Premiere Pro, I do own & use FCE… I have knowledge of Hyperengine, and Avid free …-
I never saw a simpler metaphor then "sorting slides" as in iM; most post we read here are, because people start to edit their movies with zero-manual-reading…- which works in 90% of cases…
and, iM supports the same codec as any miniDV camcorder (or even HD)… => not bit gets lost in quality…
more user friendly with high quality?
no idea...... (even with less quality…)
(iM has its hurdles and some real bugs, ask forum members Matti or Karl… but for me, the average user - no problems so far....)

  • What's the best external dvd drive (including Mac software) for an iMAC

    Would like to know.

    Assembly of External Drive Solution
    1) Take out the optical drive (DVR-112D-BK) from its box, and slide it into the tray mechanism, and align the black plastic facia (the front of the drive) with the front edge of the case so it's a flush fit, so it looks like it belongs there. There are 4 small phillips head bright, polished screws in the kit...put those aside for now, but you'll use those to fasten down the drive in the tray after everything's buttoned up
    2) Attach the 40-pin/80-wire ATA/100 cable to the drive. It *only goes on one way*, as you'll see a notch at the top that fits into the notch in the back of the drive...you can't install it but one way, the right way. BE CAREFUL to not bend those pins, and get all 40 pins aligned before you push it on. Secure it well, pushing it *all the way in*; it has to be 100% onto the pins.
    3) Attach the power Molex connector to the drive; it also only fits one way. Once again, push it in *all the way* so it "snaps" a little...you'll feel it do that, and then it's secure.
    4) Attach the 4-pin sound board pigtail to the small 4-pin slot, to the LEFT of the ATA/100 connector/cable. It can be fitted either way, but be sure to fit it with the notch on the pigtail toward the left side of the drive
    5) Make sure that everything's hooked up, and do a final alignment of the drive in the tray (it should move in the tray with a little force from your thumbs, easily), again making the front aligned with the front of the case, so it looks OEM nice.
    6) Now use those 4 phillips screws to secure the drive onto the side of the tray. Don't overtighten the screws! Just a snug torque is good.
    7) Take the silver case cover and slide it over the tray, until it's snug with the back of the tray. It should be *perfectly aligned* and fully compressed so there's no gap between the case and the tray...be careful closing the tray on the LED's power wires by the way...just tuck them inside of the tray so when you close it the thing doesn't get in the way.
Finally) Use those two long black screws to secure the tray and the case aluminum cover through the two holes *in the back of the tray*, and again...*don't overtighten those screws!*...just a snug torque is all that's needed.
    You're done!
Now hook it up to your Mac via FireWire, and do an Apple System Profiler report and *make sure it's supported* by your System: highlight "Disc Burning" and see if it says "Apple Shipped/Supported" in the right display window, which it will say if you're using 10.4.3 or higher. If you're running Panther 10.3.9 you have to use Patchburn.
Basically, what PatchBurn does, is generate a new System Profile for the optical drive in question, and it does so for a huge variety of drives, not just Pioneer drives. Once the profile is in your System, simply restart your Mac, and Viola! Instantly your new drive will be available to work with all the iApps, that is iTunes, iMovie, iDVD etc, and it will be integrated with all Finder functions also. That means the drive will then function with Disk Utility's "Burn" commands in all applications, and Disk Utility itself.
Please don't worry if you try to use your new drive combo and it doesn't work, or isn't recognized by your Mac...just do the above procedure with PatchBurn v3.x for 10.3.x, or v4.x, for 10.4.x, and all will be fine!

  • Any Mac software for opening DBF files?

I have a mac that is not running Windows.
I would like to at least view the contents of a dbf file. I have tried without success to find (google) such a program.
Is there anything out there that will help me?
    Thanks.
    -- Jillaine

Try V.K.'s suggestion first - NeoOffice is free and though its database section is extremely clunky you might be able to get it to work with your file.
Apple's now unsupported office program AppleWorks can import DBF files: Apple no longer sell it but you might be able to find a copy; ask for advice in the AppleWorks Forum - you might even be able to find someone who will convert it for you if you ask nicely. (You would still have to open it yourself, so you would need to ask them to export it as text).
FileMaker Pro can import XML and ODBC files but I can't see any evidence that it will import DBF files - you would need to contact their Support on this.
You only other option would be to try to find someone with Windows and a suitable program who can open the file and convert it to text, either tab or comma delimited, and then open that in (for example) Bento which is art least cheap, or NeoOffice.

  • Mac Software for my G4_sawtooth +ram (Panther)

iPhoto is updated to v7.1.3 or the like & I've still got V2.0.1 (3E8) would you believe. That plus Safari (v1.3.2) & upgrades must be languishing somewhere in the fairway in the sky.
Sys.Update doesn't help because it just wants me to update to QkTime v7.4.5 (only) & then I'm not sure I qualify somehow re my 10.3.9.
Tech Note:106704 tells me I can update and then click on the Now Button to sort myself out. I don't have that privilege on my Apple top menu.
I'd appreciate some help. I'm going up to Tiger shortly but would like clarity here first.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks Graeme.

  • Impossible to download the Windows Software for Mac

Since a month Im trying to have my windows 7 partition on my mac pro, Ive tried everything...the most I got was to install windows but couldnt do anything, I had no wifi , etc because I couldnt load the Mac software for windows ...impossible to download from Apple, had always the server error. I dont have the Mountain Lion CD either.
Does anyone have a tip for this...
    thanks

There is no Mountain Lion CD.
The only way to get the Windows Support Software is from within Bootcamp Assistant. When you run Bootcamp Assistant select only the menu item to Download the Windows Support Software. Be patient. The download servers are extremely slow. It may take several hours to complete the download. Do not interrupt the download.

  • Is there legal software for Macs?

I am looking to create healthcare and financial power of attorneys through legal software. However, I have had no success going to stores locally and locating any. Does anyone know if such a thing exists for Macs?
(I would be more than happy to hire an attorney, however, that is $1k and eeps... a bit spendy.)

I suspect that what you're looking for is not Mac software for lawyers, but legal advice/templates. It's not going to be easy to find Mac software for something like that. Almost all I ever looked at were for Windows. So perhaps your best option for this job is to install Win under Boot Camp.
Alternatively, you could google for stuff which is not platform-dependent. For instance,
    <http://www.standardlegal.com/>
supply legal forms in MS Word, PDF, or plain text format. Any of these should work on your Mac (you can use OpenOffice, LibreOffice, or NeoOffice if you don't have MS Word). (Note that I give the link above just as an example. I've never used their forms, so I don't know how good they are.) There are also free sites which provide on-line fillable forms, and they should also work with your Mac.
