Mac software for editing .iso images?

All --
Call me blind, but I have been searching Google for a fair amount of time and cannot come up with a single software title for the Mac that allows .iso image editing. (Editing = the ability to open and add/remove files from the iso, and then re-burn it.) Windows users have programs like MagicISO (http://www.magiciso.com/) but there doesn't seem to be a Mac equivalent.
Can anyone offer a suggestion?
Now, in many forums contributors have suggested using 'hdiutil' from the terminal, like 'hdiutil mount -readwrite image.iso' but it doesn't work. To quote the man page: "+-readwrite :: *attempt to override* the DiskImages framework's decision to attach a particular image read-only.+ "
Note the bold text. It is only an attempt, not a guarantee.
Anyway, I can't be the first person to try this. Any thoughts?

  • Editing ISO Images

I was wondering if it was possible to edit an iso image I have. The image mounts in disk mounter and I can see the directories and files, but it is mounted as read only. Is there any way I can write to an iso image?

While I am unfamiliar with and do not use ISO images, I do know some information is
available through a search; of the results, a few examples should be forthcoming; per:
' Mac OS X edit ISO images ' - google results page URL:
    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=MacOS+X+edit+ISO+image&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&oq=Mac+OS+X+edit+ISOimage&fp=d9ca629f83f82f8a
Appears ISO images are also common with PCs or perhaps Intel-based Macs,
with BootCamp; if related to newer hardware & OS X... This obviously would
exceed an older PPC computer's capacity unless it was running some Windows
emulation software, or related image files. Where did you get this image file?
There is a possible match in the first pages of the search result link, above.
In some case, you can't edit these; according to several items I've read the
process may be conditional depending on the file's purpose & the OS.
What is the ISO image related to? If it was created by a specific
software or OS, then editing these may require suitable tools.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Mac software for Cisco Aironet 340

I have a Cisco Aironet 340 PCMCIA card that I want to use with an old PowerBook. But I can't find the download for the Mac software for this card. This page tells me to go to "http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/aironet-utils-mac." but it just redirects me to the normal software download page. Where can I download the Mac sofrware for this card?

It was never supported on a mac and this is end of life and end of support... your not going to find one especially on Cisco's site.  Maybe search online and someone might have it on a file share.

  • Is there Mac software for repairing corrupted pdf files?

Using Mac 10.5.8, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.2.
Many of my pdf files are encrypted on a sparsebundle disk image, as they are personal financial files.
Randomly files become corrupted, and even though I back up, it is a recurring and very time-consuming problem.
It's basically the only problem I have with my system, and because of the importance of the files very frustrating.
There are PC-based file repair programs. I've come across references to a command-line program, but hey, I'm a Mac user, right?
    Is there anything?
And while we're at it, what can I do to prevent files from becoming corrupted? These are files from my scanner, not downloaded.
    Thanks

See this list for Cameras that are compatiblie with iMovie. Almost all Sony cameras made in the last 5 years work with iMovie, so odds are high that your camera will work. The only exception is that some manufacturers have started providing 60P cameras. These cannot be used at 60P in iMovie (or on a TV set for that matter). But these cameras typically have other settings like 30P or 60i that work fine.
The bundled software with the Sony is Windows software. They do not bundle Mac software with Sonys because iMovie comes with every Mac anyway, and that is all you need.
I think your camera works with an SDHC card. You can easily insert the SDHC card into a card reader and import the footage. New iMacs have card readers built into the side. In iMovie, you just start iMovie. Then insert the card and wait for iMovie to see it. Or you can click the camera icon on the middle toolbar if it does not see it.
You can also attach your camera via USB. In this case, the camera must be plugged into wall power, and you attach via a USB cable.
Follow the instructions in the manual for how to set the controls of the camera during import.
Edited to add...You need a Mac with at least an Intel Processor to import from this camera. Older PowerPC models (G5, G4) will not work. Even with them you can get third party software to convert to a form iMovie can handle.

I can't find it either. Pratgeek, what was the name of the application you used in Ubuntu? Is there a website for it?
probably a kind of necrobump, but i've been searching for flowchart drawing software, and found this topic.
well, mentioned tdfd is the part of software suite called TCM available at least in debian/ubuntu.
it appears to be really old, i could found only user guide and ubuntu/debian package pages on the web, but it appears to be working quite well.
i've installed it on my ubuntu machine just half an hour ago, but it seems to be at least worth to play with, and i'd even make a PKGBUILD if i like it.

  • Mac software for Palm III?

Hello. While I was cleaning out my cupboard, I pulled out my old 3Com Palm III and the HotSync Cradle that I had with it. I was wondering if someone had any software for mac that could communicate with the Palm III. If there is any software, I'll buy a Serial to USB adapter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The correct version of the Palm Desktop and the HotSync Manager is here.

  • Any Mac software for making wills, living trusts, etc.?

I believe Nolo used to make WillMaker for Mac, but it's now known as Quicken WillMaker and their website only shows a Windows version. Anyone know of any other similar software for the Mac?

Hello! I've never found any software that I would trust in regards to the matter. They are generally a one size fits all type program. If you are concerned enough to be looking for software then do the right thing and see a lawyer in YOUR state. The last thing you would want to do is leave a will/trust that turned out to be invalid in your state because of a technical error. This is one area where adequate counsel is a must. Tom

  • Minimum mac reqs for editing HD footage

I have a mac G4 and Final Cut 4.5 and want to know what the minimum requirements are for editing HD footage easily (i.e. without the computer constantly crashing.). I have heard I can use my G4 which has 1.25 Gigs sd ram and a 733 MHz processor to edit HD footage.
I have also heard I need to get a G5 with at least 2 G sd ram with Final Cut 5 HD. Can someone tell me what the minimum requirements are and what kind of video card I need to properly and easily edit HD footage.
    Thanks so much.

I don't know specifically about Final Cut 4.5, but the recommended specs for Final Cut 5 are listed on this page:
    http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/finalcutpro/specs.html
    System Requirements
    * Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G4 (500MHz or faster) or G5 processor; HD features require 1GHz or faster single or dual processors
    * 512MB of physical RAM; HD features require 1GB of RAM or more (2GB recommended)
    * AGP Quartz Extreme graphics card
    * Mac OS X v10.3.9 or Mac OS X v10.4 (or later)
    * QuickTime 7.0 or later
    * 1GB of disk space required to install application; additional 10GB required to install all optional templates, loops, content and tutorials (may be installed on separate disks)
    * DVD drive for installation
So: 1 GHz or faster single or dual processor, 1 GB of RAM or more (2 GB recommended)

  • Mac software for Ensoniq???

Does anyone know of software that can talk to the Ensoniq EPS16+ ?? The SE and Mac II were big at the time (1991) and do talk over scsi as I currently send sample data that way. I'm really looking for a parameter editor. I have some "commercial" software for Windows but it doen't work.
    Any suggestions?

oops.. I think we are heading in the wrong direction here!
The Ensoniq EPS16+ is this: http://www.vintagesynth.com/ensoniq/ens_eps16.php
A musical instrument, at the time I think Ensoniq used what we refer to as classic Macs (OS7) to develop sounds. The EPS16+ is quite complex and an editor would have been useful. Maybe nothing exists but there seems to be such a huge amount of Mac software about, so I'm really fishing to see what might have been available.
Oh yes, I do still use and program my EPS16+, it's just as much fun as vintage Macs!

  • I want to buy mac desktop for editing purpose

I want to buy a desktop for editing purpose in a reasonable rate

If you are a student, government worker or someone that is fortunate enough to work for a company that offers company discounts then you will need to pay the same amount as all of us. However you may be a great candidate for an Apple Refurbished machien where you can save hundreds of $$ with no downside. You can get a late model machine that has the same warranty (1 year) as a new machine, is eligible for AppleCare and is virtualy identical looking to a new machine. You can search for these in the online store in your country, for example today in the US you can find what is available at:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac
Look at the system requirments for both of the above apps and then determine which machine meets or exceeds those specifications to decide on the machine you want.

  • Is it time for new iso image?

As I remember ArchLinux goal was to make one iso for one kernel.
    So what happened?
There is no new iso announced for quite long time.
I know there is no big need for new iso's but if ArchLinux wants to be popular it has to hit news sometimes?

silver wrote:the new  iso image will come out soon
that seeming a real official like statement with a very concrete timeframe i just went ahead and did and ftp-install. Unlike other people stated I did not encouter any trouble whatsoever, I just hope that doing an ftp -install does not cause any fragmentation on my fileystemen, i.e. I have no clue where it puts and deletes the downloaded stuff from before install, i can imagine that this is less of a problem from the .iso.

  • Why is Photoshop CS6 not an option for editing iPhoto image?

I've read everywhere that to edit iPhoto pictures in Photoshop CS6, I need to select it as the application to used to edit the image.  However, I don't have that as an option, only Preview.  And yes, I do have Photoshop installed, I use it every day.  Any ideas on how to get it to where Photoshop is the visual editor?  Frustrating.  Thanks.

You already have selected preview as your external editor - to change it select it again and then select the new external editor
