Mac to iPhone app connections

Hi,
these are not app specific forums but this problem has occurred across multiple apps so i wonder whether there is a deeper problem. i am using 1password on both mac and iphone. however, after completing the steps required, my iphone does not appear on the mac application list and therefore cannot sync. this i have forwarded to the creators of 1password but a similar issue occurs on my pdf readers.
before ibooks appeared i used goodreader. the sync on here requires the mac user to connect to a server IP address specified by the app. this used to work but now when i try the same process my mac eventually gives up trying to connect. i had another app doing the same thing (cannot recall what this is since clearly goodreader won out in that fight)
could there be a problem with the connections that is stopping these apps from syncing and if so what do i do. none of the troubleshooting explanations seem to work for this connection issue...

Display wakes when Remote iPhone app connects to iTunes

Ever since I installed Lion, I've noticed that now whenever I use the Remote app on my iPhone to connect to my iTunes library, it wakes my iMac's display. When I had Snow Leopard installed, the display would remain asleep, no matter what actions I took with the Remote app. Now, just having the app connect to my iTunes library wakes my iMac's display from sleep--kind of annoying when you want to listen to music to go to sleep.
Since this is occuring with the same iMac, iPhone and same version of Remote, I have to assume it's Lion specific.
Anyone else having these issues?

Yep. I am having the same exact issue. Except it started for me with iTunes 10.4 before I ever upgraded to Lion. I was kind of hoping that Lion would fix it. I too listen to music going to sleep and would really like the Remote app NOT to wake up my display, illuminating my entire room.

Iphone App connection to SAP - Tutorial?

since some weeks I get more and more apple-fan.
At the moment I'm trying to develope my own iphone-apps. I recognized that ABAP is not the same as objective C - but OK - some extra work for me!
My aim is to develope iphone-apps which can connect to an SAP-System. At first "only" reading data - later i want to execute some transactions.
Does anybody know if there's some kind of tutorial how to connect to SAP?

Its not obligatory. ICM (which is shipped with the WebAS) is one of the ways you can get the iPhone to get data.
If you have a system that only talks RFC (and doesn't have ICM), then you could write a separate program (i.e. outside the ABAP process) using the RFC SDK which will call this RFC and then transform and returns the result in a form the iPhone can understand (XML/JSON, whatever) whenever the iPhone asks for data. This means another server between your R/3 backend and the iPhone.
I believe the precursor for ICM was ITS. Maybe you could look into that? I have no idea about it though:

Seeking your help and suggestion. I have a mac book pro and iphone (original -- yeah I know let's no go there - ). I have several project/task (planning) that I would like to organize using similar resources, but without the need to use 2-3 or 4 different applications. I have been desperately trying to find an App or service (not MobileMe does not provide what I need) that can do the following almost like Outlook in some ways . An all in one - Swiss Army.
1) Time/Project Manage.. To-do/task list. With the abilty of some task just being scratch or temp task not particularily assigned to a project. With the percent complete features etc.
2) Enhanced Address - Book. CRM style for independent entrepreneurs. Personal or Professional is irrelevant - their correlation to me would be determined in how I associate them. The enhancement can encompass personal/ business details and assign people to a task when/if necessary.
The abilty to apply other resources such equipement, materials.
3) Enhanced calender to display it all (similar to outlook). The calender should be able to either publish on most popular cal/dev and or RSS feed.
It would also be great if the calender can be like a membership/subscription with invite/join features. Plus many other cool stuff but for right now this would be the essential.
4) To work similar on both Mac and iPhone or all Mac devices where warranted. Edit on the fly.
5) Cloud sync and intuitive.
I've seen some pretty good apps, or service but either they have no CRM feature, only work on the iphone (where I do most of the planning on my laptop), and the service is costly or as well incomplete.
I hope there is something out there that can do this. Any suggestions would be grateful.

For me what's important is not having to remember to sync it--Wallet syncs through MobileMe or WebDAV, I think 1Password (which LOTS of people love) lets you use DropBox. I preferred Wallet's three-column setup as opposed to a source pane with collapsible folders.
Both iPassword and Wallet (and probably other apps) have free trials for the desktop app so you can test the importing and see which one you prefer.
Splash (splashdata, splashmoney, splashshopper, etc) also do apps that sync and may be worth checking into, though I'm not sure about cloud/background syncing.

WPA Enterprise Problem Windows 7; Macs and iPhones working good

I have a strange problem within my corpoarte network. I have successfully setup airport base stations with wpa/wpa2 enterprise authentication against an open directory master on apple snow leopard server. Macs and iPhones can connect through this very easily and without problems. Windows Machines seem to have some trouble with this. I have a self signed certificate and a trusted certificate for the server, both are resulting in the same issues. The Windows clients cannot connect. There is no error message on the windows boxes. Here is a snippet from the logfile on the OSX Server radius.log:

I have run into this problem as well. One additional piece is that in addition to Macs and iPhones, we also have Android phones connecting with no problem.
The only solution we came up with was to force the windows machine, in this case Vista, to use only our network and eliminate all others. Of course for our windows user that was a problem when he went home because he could not connect to his own home network any longer.
Unfortunately, that resulted in giving up on the issue for us and forcing the windows guy to plug in via ethernet.

I cannot find my Mac and other devices connected to my Time Capsule on the "Find iPhone" app

I replaced a three year old cisco router with a new 2TB TC. Now, none of the devices that used to show up on the "Find iPhone" app show up. They display as "online, location not available." This only applies to the Mac, iPad, and iPod connected to the internet through the TC. The iPhones that connect through the TC show up on "Find iPhone".
I've checked the articles for any kind of "location services" or other settings that need to be changed but I can't find them. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the Apple ID set in the TC?
I have no idea if this is important or not, but the actual app seems to have nothing to do with the TC.. and everything to do with icloud. I cannot recall seeing the question.. you might do better posting the question with the developers of the app.

Remote app for iPhone not connecting correctly

I use the Remote app to connect to my iTunes library. Everything worked fine until about 6 weeks ago, when the whole thing became intermittent. Sometimes it would connect, sometimes it would not.
I have the remote app on my iPhone 4S running latest version IOS and my wife on her iPhone 3G running whatever version that model is capped at. I also now have an iPad 3. none of them connect properly but all occasionally.
The iTunes library's I try and connect to are on a Mac mini core duo running lion, a MacBook core duo running snow leopard and a MacBook pro running snow leopard. The network is a airport extreme running both a 5Ghz a standard wi-fi. the Mac mini is connected using Ethernet and wake on LAN is enabled. Home sharing is enabled on all devices
The problem is the same connecting any iPhone /iPad to any Mac computer: the mobile device is paired and sees the iTunes library but fails to connect (most of the time: occasionally it works like a dream).
The only time they connect when I want them to, is if the tunes library has been started, by playing a song. Then the app seems to work okay. In the case of the Mac mini this is tricky as I'm running it purely as an iTunes library with no monitor, keyboard or mouse connected. So I have to turn on my MacBook and screen share to the mini, play a song and THEN the remote app connects; but then it stalls and I can't turn the music off unless I screen share in again! It kind of defeats the object of having the app.
I have tried allowing connections of iTunes on the airport. All firewalls have been turned off. I have updated all the software, reset all devices. I have even rolled back to an older version of remote app. Same problem.
It seems that in using only Apple devices to connect to Apples iTunes with Apples Remote app the software is fundamentally flawed.
I'm at a loss on what to next.
Has anyone got a similar experience? And is there a solution?

As is always the case, it isn't until after I post a question about a problem that I find a solution on my own. Turns out the problem was that I was running the beta version of iTunes 10.1 and just needed to update to the official 10.1 release of iTunes. Oops!

Connect the iPhone and iTunes will open automatically. Then, go to iTunes menu (on the menu bar) > Devices > Transfer purchases, and all the content downloaded from the App Store and the iTunes Store will be transferred to the MacBook. The app called "Air Sharing" allows you to do that. Connect to a wifi network, run the program and you can mount your iphone as a drive using Finder. Upload all the PDFs you like, and you can open them from within the Air Sharing app. Also, you can view most image files, most office files, etc.

Firstly I'm not having any problems syncing apps to my iPhone.
I'm very OCD and would like to have it so that If I install an app onto my Mac, it sync to my iPhone. And then if I delete it from my Mac and plug my phone in to sync, it will delete it from my iPhone.
Basically I want my iMac to be the hub of the apps, so everything I see on my iMac will be on my phone.
Let me know if you have a solution for this!

As far as installing is concerned, if you install an iPhone app on your Mac and sync your iPhone to your Mac using either USB or WiFi the app will be installed on your phone. You can also go (on the phone) to Settings/iTunes & App Store and turn on Automatic Downloads for apps. Then whenever you buy or download an app on your computer or another Apple device it will automatically be installed on your iPhone.
For uninstalling, there are 2 ways to uninstall; one is on the phone (which you said you don't want to do) and the other is to connect the phone to iTunes, click on it, then on Apps, and uncheck any apps you don't want on the phone, then sync.

Can't remove deleted iPhone apps from Mac

I haven't been able to find the specific answer to this one.
After removing an app from my iPhone 4S, I also try to remove it from iTunes on my Macbook Pro (Mavericks 10.9).
For example, if trying to remove my "CBS" app (see image below)
Steps to reproduce: Connect phone to Mac > Open iTunes on Mac > iPhone > Apps
I have the option to "Install" it again, but no option remove or uninstall it completely. The "Remove" button only seems to apply to apps I have kept on my iPhone and do not want to remove e.g. the Fandango, Flixster, HBO GO apps.
How can I completely remove/uninstall the CBS app from the list of options? It didn't work well and I no longer intend to use it.
