Mac to PC conversion

My iPod was originally set-up on a Mac. Can I reconfigure my iPod to be used on a PC without losing the songs on my iPod?
If this is not possible can I transfer the iTunes library on my Mac to a PC? (Then I could wipe my Mac iPod & reconfigure it for my PC.)
Thanks
Bob

My thought process was that Ipod will work better with Mac than PC
Almost certainly. Back when I used Windows I had quite a few issues that although I was able to address, it was a pita.
Since I move the "light side", my iPods and iTunes (and computer come to that) have worked seamlessly.

  • I try to convert LAbview 2.2 VI to Labview 3.1 for MAc using the conversion Kit. Labview 3.1 mass compile cannot find several VI like "open file, open folder, wait(ms), al_config"e.t.c. How can I manage this problem?

It looks like Labview 3.1 has different names for these VI.

It has been a very long time since I worked with such an old version but version 3 was a major upgrade that made the MAC and Windows versions much more compatible. One of the changes was to make the VI names the same on both platforms and another was to make the locations the same (i.e. the name of the llb that the functions were stored in. You should be able to find the equivalent functions in 3.1. Open the app in 3.1 and when prompted to find a VI, browse around until you find it. If you have a list of the VIs that couldn't be found, before opening the old app, create a new VI. Use the palette to find the functions and place them on the diagram. Then, when you open the old VI, those functions with the same name will get replaced by the new ones. For ones w
hose name changed, you'll have to manually replace those one by one. I also seem to remember a compatibility llb that was available back then. It was a set of VIs that was not part of version 3. I have no clue as to whether it's still available from NI and whether it included everything you might need. The good news is that once you're past this conversion, upgrading becomes a lot easier.

I have MS Office 2011 on my MAC. I have noticed the conversation history is saved on the MS Lync History folder on the MAC. However the outlook mailbox folder called " conversation history "  is not updated with this info. Any idea what could

  • MAC & PC Video conversion MOV to AVI error

    Hello
i have a big problem and hope someone can help me:
I have to convert around 16 (1h) clips from .mov to avi.
Im currently working on a mac but my client only uses pc and he had problems with .mov files. thats why im tryng to reconvert to .avi which is more compatible with PC.
First I used compressor´s DV pal anamorphic (16:9) preset which i then reconfigured using the inspector to .avi as output format, then in adjustmenst i choose DV pal -best-16:9-48000-Stereo. I saved this as a preset and then applied to all my 1hour clips.
I left them all night converting but next morning as i opened in pc to check the files they did not work correctly.
Can someone help me how to convert these files to PC compatible platform. is h.264 worth a solution?
thanks a lot for any suggestions
    ger

    Why avi and not wmv?
If wmv will work, get flip4mac Pro. It will do the conversion for you OR get a PC and do the conversion on it using the basic windows movie maker software.

  • MAC V2.2 conversion to V3.1 mass compile cant find certain VIs

I have some MAC LabView 2.2 files that I need to convert to Labview 2012.  I have started using the conversion tool to go to Version 3.1.
During the mass compiler process it tells me that it cannot find a lot of VIs such as “Open Folder”, “Open Files”, etc.
I am having the same problem as the person in this thread:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/I-try-to-convert-LAbview-2-2-VI-to-Labview-3-1-for-MAc-using-the/td-...
I tried what Dennis’ suggested by saving files such as “Open File+.VI” from Version 3.1 as just “Open File.VI” but when I select the newly saved file it doesn’t take; it just re-prompts me for the VI again.
So can someone explain further what I need to do to find these VIs? Or get the ones from Version 3.1 to work?
    Thanks
    T

    T,
The problem you run into in converting VIs that old is that some of the functions and VIs used in the older version simply do not have any direct equivalents in the newer versions.  You have to go in and reprogram things to get the same functionality with the new VIs.
Do you have an old Mac on which to run the LV 2.2 version? If so, I would spend enough time with that version to document what the program does and then write a new program in LV 2012 with the same capabilities (plus all the new things someone will have decided to add).  Make backups and print out all the diagrams.  Just in case.
I am currently in the process of rewriting a program which is currently in LV5, LV6, and LV8.6 to LV 2012. This program started out in LV1.2 and was rewritten in 2.2.1 or 3 and then converted to 5 and upgraded a few times.  Event though I was the programmer in all the versions, very little of the current version except for some user interface items will be carried forward to the new version.

  • Problem with MAC to PC conversion

I downloaded a sequence onto my PC created on a MAC.  The sequence loads and identifies the clips, but it doesn't link with my source videos even after many attempts with Link Media.  It comes up as "File Format not supported."  I had sent copies of  these source videos to my associate to use on his MAC and they were fine. I've seen his cut.  What am I doing wrong?  . The clips were shot on a Canon DSLR.

    Yes.

  • HT1277 Mac Mail previous conversation as HTML attachment

Receiver using Windows outlook will receive my mail of previous conversation as html attachment. How to change things to conversation format? Anyone can help>?

Change your Preferences > Composing option to Plain Text, and disable the "Use the same message format as the original message" option in that same window. If you want to always see mail in Plain Text, regardless of how the sender composed it, execute this command in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.mail PreferPlainText -bool true
Then quit Terminal and restart Mail for the change to take effect.

  • Where's the conversation in mac mail?

Where's the conversation in mac mail? Like in Gmail. Mac Mail in conversation mode only shows one side of the 'conversation'. You have to go to the sent folder to the see the other side. Anyone know of way to change the view? Sparrow mail even has both sides of the conversation in the in box. Surprised mail is lacking this.

Go to Preferences > Viewing and check "Include Related Messages". Mail randomly turned this off for me recently and I had to find it and turn back on.

  • PC Excel file Conversion to MAC

I opened a PC Excel file (with pivot tables) in MAC Excel. MAC says no conversions are necessary, however, the drop down lists aren't available on the pivot table reports. Any solutions?

Since Excel is not an Apple product, you'll probably want to use a forum dedicated to Microsoft's Mac products such as <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=newsgroups> rather than an Apple forum.
Be sure to search the forum first in case someone has already had a similar question answered

  • Restore an iMessage conversation from Mac to iPhone

    Hi,
A couple of months ago, I deleted a contact from my address book, along with the corresponding iMessage conversation from this contact.  Both the contact and the conversation were manually deleted from my Mac and my iPhone (I think, although maybe I just deleted it from my iPhone?).  Both devices are using the same AppleID/iCloud account.
About a month ago, I added the contact back in (I can't recall if I added the contact back on my Mac first or my iPhone first) and the entire iMessage conversation had been restored on my Mac (I was actually quite amazed that the entire conversation was restored on the Mac.  I didn't really know that all that is stored in lCloud).  On my iPhone, however, only the iMessage conversation messages that were exchanged since the contact was added back in are present on the iPhone.
Is there a way to force the iPhone to refresh the entire conversation from this particular contact from iCloud, or from my Mac?
I use iCloud backup to back up my phone, not my Mac.
    Thanks!

Not that I know of. You would have to restore a back-up of the iPhone before the message was deleted. You can also take screen shots on the Mac of the conversation. That would save the conversation in your photos, and you can sync those. Maybe someone else can chime in if I'm missing something.

  • I have downloaded the converter program and the conversion from PDF to Word is terrible. Is there a better solution or setting?

I am trying to convert a PDF to Word without re-typing.  I downloaded the converter program onto my MAC but the conversion was terrible.  Unusable.  Is there a better way.  I also have a PC so I could try that as well if would make any difference.

"Scanned"  Scanned anything starts you with an image / picture of the page content that was on the source paper.
There is no "renderable" text. OCR can provide an output of text that can be exported. Without that all that is exported is the image.
As to OCR, Acrobat's ClearScan lends itself to repurpose via the export process.
Regardless, anything sourced from a scanner output is the "pig's ear" and that'll not yield the "silk purse".
Export is dictated by the input (GIGO). Export output identifies input quality.
As a C Student stated a Word file (being well-built helps) that sourced the PDF will yield workable export back to Word.
PDF's sourced for FrameMaker export rather nicely.
For optimal export always start with a well-formed Tagged PDF (ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant).
Two core design considerations of tagged PDF are (1) support Accessible PDF and (2) support export (repurpose) of PDF content.
    Be well...

  • Import Windoze OL2000 PST mail into Mac OSx MS Entourage2004 or Osx Mail

Anyone aware of any Mac based scripts/conversion utilities that will convert within the following caveats/parameters?:
    * Must run on OSx 10.4.10+ Intel C2D - (Yes I'm aware of Windoze based options to say re-export PST to CSV/Tab delim formats etc as interim stage - unfortunately this is not currently a feasable option)
    * Must be importable into either Tiger OSx Mail V 2.1.1 (752.3) or MS Entourage 2004 V 11.3.6 (070618)
    * Must retain original attachments.
    * Must successfully work on MS Office 2000 Outlook produced (pst) files.
So far my searches of similar archived requests (here and elsewhere) appear to offer inconclusive (or non feasable) solutions. eg Assuming that OL2000(Win) pst format is identical to OL2001(Mac) pst format etc etc.
I don't mind paying for utility if it works!

With 10.3 server and 200 Server, you're, well, running some older stuff there. The 2000 server is a Master Domain Controller - that means it is the head server on the windows domain. I's probably the only server as well, yes? In any event, that means the windows clients rely on it for just about everything, most likely.
I could go on a bit here, but here's the quick answer.
There's a good article about integrating AD (windows server) and OD (Mac servers) here
    http://www.afp548.com/filemgmt/visit.php?lid=12
Adding an excahnge server into the mix, meaning you're administering an email server, is a whole 'nother story. Added to the fact that you're using old software, and presumably old hardware makes it more difficult to hire a consultant. Consultants want to leave you knowing that they have installed a stable and secure setup. That's hard to do with 2K server and 10.3 server.
If this is a business that relies on servers you may wish to consider a new server, whether it be Apple or Windows, and hire a consultant to set it up. Email servers are an entirely different beast requiring extra care, feeding, and backup. Places like http://www.swishmail.com provide reliable email at way less costs and with very little aggravation, and no maintenance for small to medium companies.
Discussions are a great place for - can you send me a link to get started, or I've done this, this, this and that, and now I'm stuck - what did I miss?
You're asking for a lot more than that, and it would be difficult for anyone to give you a good answer.

  • How do i convert my Photoshop CS 4 version from Windows to Mac

How do i convert my Photoshop CS 4 version from Windows to Mac.

You are not likely to be able to convert your CS4 license/version from Windows to Mac.  Platform conversions are only supported for current releases, which would be CS6.  Creative Cloud subscriptions allow for either or both platforms to be supported.

  • New Windows laptop fails to print to Mac-shared printer

I prevoiusly had a shared HP DeskJet 5900 shared from my PowerBook G4 to a Toshiba Windows laptop via Bonjour. The printer was set up as a generic Postscript printer and printing worked fine.
I replaced the PowerBook with a MBP C2D and the Windows laptop with a Sony Vaio, and this same printing arrangement no longer works. Setting up the printer in Windows goes fine. The Bonjour printer setup assistant finds the shared printer just fine, and set-up appears to succeed, but printing from any Windows app fails with the error message, “Printing failed because an error occurred.”
    What am I doing wrong?

…On the VAIO, are you still creating the
printer as a Generic PS? I've seen problems when you
add the Windows driver for the printer instead of
setting it to PS (the Mac does the conversion so it
is recommended to leave it set this way).
Yes, it’s Standard/Generic Postscript, although I also tried setting it up with the appropriate printer-specific Windows driver with the same result.
It might be worth checking Console in the MBP to see
if there is a better explanation as to what is going
wrong. The cups error log may be helpful (providing
the spool file is getting to the MBP).
Good idea. Unfortunately nothing shows up on Console. I suspect the connection is failing entirely on the Windows end.
However, the connection does work on the file-sharing level. In a Windows Explorer window, I can successfully browse \\[Mac name]\ and see the printers as well as shared files

  • Similar Program as Microsoft Money for Mac?

    Hello,
I am in the process of changing over from pc to Mac. I am currently using Microsoft Money...is there an equivalant for the Mac? All I really need it to do is download bank activity from my checking account, set budget, and run income/expense reports. Thanks in advance for your help.

Quicken acceptable on the Mac, but the conversion from Microsoft Money is nearly impossible. I simply started over when I made the switch about 2 years ago. Once set up though, the bank access works well.
