trying to download/install flash player on our mac* and it keeps giving 'unable to load metafile' error; tried uninstalling flash/re-installing and no luck. Found a helpful-looking topic on here with links to solutions, but the links no longer work.

Why is it that when I am trying to install an adobe product, I get 33% of the way through and then it gives me an error "unable to load metafile"?? It happened with Reader and now with Flash player. With the Reader, I was able to find a different installation link using the troubleshooting guide. I cannot find the same with flash player. Please tell me how to install Flash player because there is a website that I cannot even view without it. BTW That is annoying that I cannot even see the website without flash player

Trouble downloading the free trial of Adobe Acrobat DC! "unable to load metafile"

Currently, I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed. When I select "download", the Adobe Acrobat DC file is created in my downloads folder. However, when I choose to run the file, it first has me click continue if I'm aware that it will replace my current version of Adobe (so I click continue) but then the next thing pops up saying "unable to load metafile". Can't make it past this point. And I already downloaded Acrobat Reader DC in case that has anything to do with it. Please help!

Could you please uninstall Adobe Reader DC from your machine and download its offline installer from here:
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Now, try installing Adobe Acrobat DC again by running the executable file and check if the problem persists.
Also, let me know if you are connected to a proxy server, then you might need to refer the KB doc link listed for this error:

Installing Reader on new MacBook Pro. Unable to load metafile.

Have a brand new MacBook Pro. Downloaded Acrobat Reader from Adobe web site, and tried to install. Getting an "Unable to Load Metafile" error.
Looked it up on Google, and didn't see any useful information.
How do I fix this and get the software installed?

I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player, and the installer can't load metafile. I am not sure how to fix this, and I already searched Adobe troubleshooting. Any suggestions?

Photoshop CS5 on a Mac, unable to load Pixel Bender (extension manager failing as well??) can

Downloaded correct version of Pixel Bender, installed it, tried to open Extension Manager which opens but no programs or files listed, nothing available, install button / choice greyed out, unable to do anything but click to open sales page (aka Exchange). Downloaded/reinstalled Extension manager, still blank options, nothing happens when I CMD-O now what?

Went thru the 'self help' to boot in safe mode, uninstall/reinstall Adobe Air, and NOTHING WORKED. Here is the exit code 7 information. Just purchased and am trying to load via DVD. Loaded Photoshop Elements off the same disc and it is OK. Need Premiere to work.

You query can be answered in 2 parts.
1) Error in the installation log - This should appear before applying the fix. After applying the fix(using dmg) or changing the system date, this log should not come. In case it still does, please let us know.
2) EO Issue - This issue is unrelated to the installation problem(including Language pack failures) and its fix. Restarting the machine should this issue. Please let us know if it still persists. As per our observation, It appears only on a small fraction of machines.
Just to reiterate these 2 issues are separate and installer fix has nothing to do with the EO issue. For the EO just try restarting your machine and things should work fine.

When I login to Acrobat.com and click download, it downloads the small installer file, but when running it I get this error.
Is there a stand alone install I can use?

Unable to load pictures with mac osx..

I was wondering if anyone knows the reason why I'm unable to load pictures with my macbook for e-bay when I sell??? It just keep turning and turning with no results...
Is it the new operating platform (osx) or what could it be?? I have tried it with an older mac, had no problem loading them....

Is there an uploader program from ebay that you use? If so, then you might try digging out the preference file from your library/preferences and see if it generates a new, non-corrupt one. If it uses a browser interface and that is stalling, then I'd suggest using a different browser. You can also ask ebay support.

Hello everybody, good news: after upgrading to Mountain Lion 10.8.5 I've been able to run the installer and all went fine.
Mountain Lion allows user to force execution through the context-menu (CTRL-click) Open command and it does work, just that simple.
So my advice is: if you want to install or re-install Flash Builder 4.6 on a Mac with Lion installed, upgrade to Mountain Lion or better to avoid problems.
Apple introduced some (not all) Gatekeeper functionalities in 10.7.3 and following, but apparently you need a full-fledged 10.8 to have also what you need to circumvent a Revoked Certificate error.
Since usually OS X has auto updating active, if you are running Lion you end up with 10.7.5 and won't install FB46. If you manage somehow to hold 10.7.2 I suppose you should be able to install FB46, sincerely I didn't check it out. Anyway it's simpler and safer to move on to 10.8.x.
