Mac Uninstalled Elements 8

A pop up window came up when I tried to open elements saying it wants to make changes and asked for password.
Then another popup window came up and says to uninstall elements 8.  It would not let me continue without uninstalling it so I figured (naively) that it would install a newer version automatically.  Now I have no Photoshop elements or files.  Whats the deal?

It sounds to me like you accidentally clicked on the uninstaller instead of the actual program. They're both in the same folder. So just reinstall it. PSE is never going to give you an updated version for free that way, so any time you see something like that window, you know something is wrong and should just cancel and back out of it. You would see the adobe application manager if there were any updates.

  • Mac Premiere Elements 11 crashes on launch (network account only)

I am trying to use Mac Premiere Elements 11 (OS X 10.8) and it crashes every time on launch, but only for a network account. When I launch using a local administrator user, it works fine. How can I make it work for the network account?
I have already tried ensuring Read/Write permissions on my entire Home folder, and have uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times.
If it matters, the Home folders are on an external disk. The network account is set to be an administrator on the computer (this particular Mac is the Open Directory server, so it's a network user directly on the directory server).
No other application (including Photoshop Elements 11) has any issues at all.
If it is helpful, I can post the (huge) stack trace of the crash. Thank you... --Erik Bailey

    You can't... read below
No current version of Premiere works properly, if at all, over a network
-you may NOT "map" your My Documents folder to a network drive
-you MUST give all users administrator accounts to use Premiere

  • I need to uninstall elements 10 from my computer

Do I need to take any special actions to uninstall elements 10 so I can put on a new laptop I will be getting shortly?

The most important thing is to go to Editor>Help>Deactivate before you uninstall. Then use control panel (windows) or the uninstaller in the PSE 10 folder in applications (mac).

Because I listened to Adobe earlier today about whither uninstalling Elements would affect Photoshop and Lightroom on my computer, Lightroom no longer sees Photoshop in the EDIT IN Menu of Lightroom. I found an article on the help site saying to delete the filecom.adobe.Photoshop.plist, which I looked for, its not there so it can't be deleted. The next step is to uninstall Photoshop and reinstall. This isn't an option because of all the plug-ins and modifications of the work space. Does any one have a better solution?

  • I have Elements 12 on my pc.  I installed elements 13 but it will not boot up. Both products are registered with Adobe. When I sign in to 13 and then accept the software agreement it does not load.  Do I need to uninstall Elements 12?

Pertaining to my question above.....I have uninstalled Elements 13 and then re-installed but I have the same problem as stated above.  Any ideas on how to solve my problem?  Elements 12 boots up just fine.

You should not have to uninstall Premiere Elements 12/12.1 in order to install and run Premiere Elements 13 on the same computer unless your computer is overloaded and the computer resources are compromised. Just use one program at a time.
Can you still use 12/12.1 on this same computer that will not let you use 13?
What specific Window operating system are you using?
Let us go through the usual drill...
    1. Does the problem exist with and without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    2. Are you using a pen and tablet device instead of a mouse?
    3. Did you install the program with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled?
    4. Disable the SLCache Folder found in Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit
    Local Disk C
    Program Files (x86)
    Common Files
    Adobe
and in the Adobe Folder should be the SL Cache Folder that you delete or disable by renaming the Folder
    from SLCache to SLCacheOLD.
    5. Are you running the program as Administrator and is the latest version of QuickTime installed on the same
    computer as Premiere Elements 13?
Let us start here and then decide what next.
    Thank you.

  • Are there instructions to uninstall Elements 7 and Elements 10

    Hello,
Could somebody please help me?  I purchased a new laptop and I have to return it because it's been giving me a lot of problems.  I have to uninstall Elements 7 and Elements 10 before I return it.
Are there specific instructions and links to uninstall these 2 programs?
Or, can I just use the Windows uninstall programs to completely uninstall them?
    Thanks for your assistance!

Oh, you don't go to regular support for activation. If you're in the US, you just call this number:

    Good morning, Barbara.
Oh I see, I didn't know that.  I called the regular 1-800-585-0774 number.  I had to wait for 18 mins to get a regular person, which then put me on hold for another long time, then she transferred me - and the line just kept on ringing and ringing.  All in all, I waited for 1 hour and 5 minutes, until I went to chat with the Adobe lady - even while I was chatting with her the phone just kept on ringing.  So, no, I'm not impressed with the kind of phone support they gave me.
Thanks for the number.  After your last message I decided to just uninstall the thing.  Then I uninstalled a couple of other things and ran a System Restore.  The laptop is all packed and ready to go, I'll be going to the post office to mail it back to QVC in a little while.
Thanks for your assistance.  Have a great weekend.

I sort of feel there is some sort of drama between the old elements program and the new one.

Am I supposed to uninstall Elements 10 prior to installing Elements 12?

It is not a requirement but you can if you prefer to only have 12 installed.  If you uninstall it beforehand you are going to need the serial number for 10 if you purchased 12 as an upgrade.

  • Downloaded elements 12, said to uninstall and try again, uninstalled CS6 as I thought that was the problem, then tried to also uninstall Elements 12 and it couldn't uninstall elements 12. Now what?

Tried to install Elements 12. It said to uninstall and try again as it couldn't open. Remembered I have CS6 on there so I uninstalled that, then tried to uninstall Elements 12 but now Elements 12 cannot be completely uninstalled. Now what should I do?

Just tried putting the disc in, clicked on "install" and it attempted to uninstall the program but again failed so now I can't install it at all. Anyone know the phone number for Adobe so they can help me? They of course don't post it on their website. :/
