Mac vs PC features in Photoshop elements 11?

Are all the features advertised in Photoshop Elements 11 available in both the Mac and the PC?

In the editor, yes, except for disc burning. In the organizer the mac versions still lacks the slideshow editor and watched folders.

the  editing feature of photoshop elements stopped working after i installed nik efex pro wacom pen.

You need to remove third party plugin and try launching. You should find it in plugins folder either here C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Plug-Ins or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Locales\en_US\Plug-Ins
Else try skipping the loading of thirdparty plugins like below:
       1. Close Elements.
       2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl/cmd + shift as you click Editor/Edit.
       3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message to skip loading of 3rd party plugins..Click yes and check.
    Thanks,

  • New Mac: Why are CC and Photoshop Elements not working when Lightroom and Reader are fine

Last week I changed computers (swapping an old Mac for a 13-in MacBook Pro Retina running OSX Yosemite 10.10.3. I copied all my data over to the new machine using Migration Assistant.
All programs work fine (including my copy of Lightroom 3 and Reader XI). But my CC and Photoshop Elements 10 do not. I have tried uninstalling both, but whenever I try to reinstall PE10 from its disk or download it just stops almost at the end. I then I get an "initiation failed" message, along with a request to download the now defunct "Support Advisor" app!
I cannot download Adobe Application Manager, or the CC desktop app either - for the former I get an "initiation failed" message, along with the "download Support Advisor" app" message again! For the latter I get a message saying "Adobe Creative Cloud Is Needed to Resolve this problem - however it is missing or damaged." Then I get a message and a link to download Creative Cloud. Then when I've downloaded it and I click on the installer... it runs for a bit and then I get the message again: "Adobe Creative Cloud Is Needed to Resolve this problem - however it is missing or damaged." And I get a prompt and link to download the CC app. Guess what happens next? And so it goes on. And on and on, in a tedious circle.
This is incredibly annoying and frustrating as I have work to do! Anyone have any ideas what's happening?
    Cheers
    K

do not use migration to install adobe programs.
you should uninstall and clean whatever you've done, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
then dl the cc desktop app to your new computer and use it to install your adobe cc programs, Download Adobe Creative Cloud apps | Free Adobe CC trial
if you have non-subscription adobe programs, use the installation files for them:

  • I have Mac os10 yosemite and with photoshop elements 13 I cannot get a menu from Print to change the type of paper.  Where is that menu  The one that comes up only alows for paper size not type

After clicking print the menu that comes up does not allow for a change in paper type.  Where can I change the paper type. OS 10.10 Yosemite with Photoshop Elements 13.  I have a windows computer with the same program and the print menu has a paper settings option but not on the the mac.  What gives.  Is the Elements 13 not compatible with the OS 10 Yosemite?  Thanks for any help

If you delete all the Adobe Reader stuff it will probably fix this. For almost everything, the Apple pdf handling works better.

  • After Successfull Installation of Photoshop Element 3.0 On Mac OS 10.6.8, Photoshop Elements does not start saying that personalization information is invalid or missing

I have installed Photoshop Elements 3.0 from original disk on my MacBook Pro with Mac OS 10.6.8. The installation was successful. However, when I try to run Photoshop Elements, it does not start, with the message "Could not complete your request because of missing or invalid personalization information". I uninstalled Adobe Elements and deleted all Adobe files from both the System Library Preferences and from the User Library Preference. Then tried the installation again. The installation was successful, but the application fails to start with the same missing/invalid-personalization-information message.
    Please advise

I am sorry Invalid Personalization but Photoshop Elements 3.0 requires a PowerPC processor or Rosetta installed in order to function.  You can find the system requirements at System requirements | Adobe Photoshop Elements.
You may want to try following the steps listed at Mac OS X 10.6: If you need to install Rosetta to attempt to install Rosetta.  That may still not resolve your licensing issue however as the application was also designed for Mac OS 10.2.8 and 10.3.

  • New features in Photoshop Elements 12 ?.

Photoshop Elements has come a long way since it replaced Photoshop 5 LE back in 2001.  It however still lacks many of the more professional features of Photoshop Creative Cloud such as 16 Bit Editing, CMYK color mode and soft-proofing.  It also has a number of watered down or simplified features like the slider depended Adjust Color Curves and Photomerge Exposure rather than HDR editing.  With Photoshop Elements 12 expected to be released in September what new features or functionally would you most like to be added to the new version ?.

A few thoughts related to the Organizer portion:
Comments for tags.  The ‘keyword tags’ in all the versions I’ve used allows you to enter comments about the tag.  However, version 11 introduced ‘people tags’ – but that did not include the ability to enter comments about the ‘people tags.’  For myself, I found the comment field to be very valuable.  I used them regularly to add notes about who barely-recognizable distant-relatives were, and how they were related to me, etc.  I would love to see a comment field added to the ‘people tags.’
Default location for PSE Catalog.  By default, Elements places the catalog in the \ProgramData\ folder (on Windows machines).  The problem is that few users would think to backup this folder as part of routine backup procedures, unless they were backing up the full hard disk.  And, most of the consumer backup utilities (and services, e.g. Carbonite) generally have defaults to only backup the \users\{username}\ folder structure.  As a result, for users who are diligent about doing regular backups, there is a pretty good chance that they are not backing up this very critical file.  Compounding this is the fact that the process to move the catalog to another folder is far from intuitive.  It is virtually impossible to figure out from the user-interface itself.  As I’ve wanted to move the catalog location with each new version of the release, I’ve had to spend considerable time searching the web and Adobe knowledgebase to find out how to do it.  It would be great if 1) the default location was in the \users\{username}\ folder structure, and/or 2) the user could change the location during the installation process, and/or 3) the process for changing the location after installation was simpler and more intuitive
Comments/Captions.  In Windows, there are several pieces of information associated with each picture file (e.g. date taken, camera type, dimensions, etc.).  The comments field is one that I use to enter information about the image (names, locations, events, etc.).  I’ve been doing since before my use of PSE.  It would be great if PSE could grab this information when doing a media import and store it as the PSE caption information.
Folder hierarchy view.  In version 11, the folder-tree pane on the left side of the Organizer only shows folders that have been imported into PSE.  In previous versions, the folder-tree showed 'all' folders - and those that had not been imported to PSE were greyed out.  I found the view in pervious versions to be very helpful, as it served to let me know which directories I had not yet imported.  With the interface in version 11, I either 1) have to make more of a manual effort (comparing my actual folder-tree with that I see in PSE), or 2) rely on memory to realize that PSE is not showing me pictures that I have.
I'm looking forward to the new version.

  • Can I print a contact sheet that includes the caption for each photo using Photoshop Elements 13 for Mac. I previously used Photoshop Elements 6 for the PC and could do this.

I just switched to a Mac and installed Photoshop Elements 13. I previously worked with many years with Photoshop Elements 6 on a PC where I used the contact sheet function -- with each's photo's caption included -- to print print a collection of 400+ member photos for a club I belong to. This worked beautifully. I assumed I'd still have this ability with my new software, but can't figure out how to do it. Help.

Try using psd.  Some rerports indicate some confustion between the apps with TIFF.  See:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15921933#15921933
I cannot confirm, nor test, since I use PS CS5, and not Elements.

recently upgraded to mac OS10 yosemite version 10.10
my photoshop elements 12 is not working with this os
is there an upgrade so elements 12 will work?

Photoshop elements 12 should work on mac os x 10.10
    Have you updated to 10.10.1
Also, if you upgraded with pse 12 already installed, it's a must that you do the steps shown on the following page:

  • My Mac won't read the Photoshop Elements disc - help!

Adobe Photoshop Elements will not load onto my Mac - the computer won't even read it.  It just whirrs a bit and then ejects the disc.  I have no problems with DVDs, CDs and Snow Leopard is read without any trouble.  What is causing this?  Please help!  The disc is not faulty - I returned the first one thinking there was a problem but exactly the same thing is happening with disc no 2.  It does load on to a PC (well as much as it can) so there is no problem with the disc itself.

    Thanks Barbara for contacting me..
Emma, as per what I have read above, this seems to be very weird scenario. To be frank, I dont have a direct answer as to why the DVD is not running properly on the machine and why does it ejects automatically.
But, I can suggest a workaround.
Can you insert the DVD on some other machine(Win/Mac), and copy the complete "Adobe Photoshop Elements 8" folder on some external drive.
Then attach the external drive to your Mac and copy the folder onto your machine say on the desktop.
If this much part can be done, then you just need to go inside the folder, and double click on Setup.app to launch the installer.
    Does it helps?

  • Disable log-in feature for Photoshop Elements 12

I really do not want to be connected to Adobe in any way, shape or form while using their product.
I detest and loathe this company.  The day another company produces a way to do accurate frequency seperation for retouching, I will be gone for good.
I wish to register and activate my copy of PSE 12 one time: I do not wish to remain signed in to continue using my app, this feels like rape.
I am not sure if I could do a silent install and disable the feature?  I bought this off of Amazon and did not realize what this sleaze ball company had changed.  I am in contact with Amazon about getting my money back but they suggested first to contact Adobe and see if there is simply a way to register and activate the software the traditional way, before Adobe started raping and molesting their customers.
Chat reps did not help and said that this was a good thing and the customers requested it.  THis is BS.
Here are links showing possible solutions.  If this company has anyone who is actually human working for it, please help.

    Hi,
Sorry to hear about the problem and the experince.
Offline activation is one of the way you can use to activate your program if you are not connected to the internet.
Else you can try the silent installation method mentioned in the below article,

Let me know if you need any further help.

  • Email feature on Photoshop Elements 8

I have had my Photoshop Elements 8 for several years and the feature to email a photo has never worked.  Tried to get help when it was under warranty, but the guy did not fix it.  Can you give me insrtructions that I can understand to fix that feature?  Thank you.

Art Granny, this post has been moved to the forum in question. Just look at the top of the page if you'd like to navigate to the forum at large:
Adobe Community > Photoshop Elements > Discussions
("Adobe Community" leads you to the home page for the forums (all products), while "Photoshop Elements" leads you to the PSE home page for forums)
    As to your issue:
    1. Are you using Email Attachements or Photo Mail?
    2. Are you attempting to send with the Adobe Email Service or an email client (Preferences > Sharing >  Email Settings)?
-a. If you are using the Adobe Email Service, have you recieved your authorization code?
    3. How far into the email process are you able to get before you encounter a failure? Any error message? Or do you simply send the email but it is never recieved?

  • Mac OS 10.9.1 Photoshop Elements compatible?

I downlaoded Photoshop Elements 12 to my MacBook Air OS 10.9.1 I can't open it. I get this message Check with the developer to make sure Photoshop Elements 12 works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.

PSE 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 are all compatible with 10.9, so you need to explain in more detail what you did, starting with what you mean by "download". To download is to get something from the internet onto your computer, but many people who post here use "download" when they actually mean "install".

  • Features in Photoshop Elements

    Hello:
I have a VERY old version of Photoshop. I rely heavily on drawing paths and recording and playing actions. I would like to upgrade to a newer version, but since mine is so old, I would have to pay full price for CS4. Does anyone know if Elements 7 has actions and paths? (I need to draw paths point by point, not just predefined shapes.) I also stroke the paths.
    Thank you in advance.
    paul

If you need to draw and work with paths, Elements is NOT going to do what you need.
The path selection tool, the pen tools, along with the path palette are all absent from Elements. Elements only has the basic predefined shape tools; custom shapes; and the direct selection tool.
Elements can't record actions. The latest version has an action player...to my understanding not only is it just a player but it is limited in just what it will play.

  • I have a MAC and i have bought photoshop element 13 but i think it is not the good logiciel for my computer, i can't installe it can you help me ?

j'ai acheté hier le logiciel adobe photoshop élément 13  mais j'ai un mac et j'ai pas fait attention que visiblement ce logiciel est fait pour Windows donc je n'arrive pas à le télécharger.
    Comment faire ?

    Hi salex7,
I just checked your account and saw that your order is still processing. I can take several hours for an order to process fully. Once it does, however, you should have no problem logging in and converting files.
Please try again shortly, and let us know if you're able to log in.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Does anyone know anything about the "sign in" feature of Photoshop elements 8?

    I watched a tutorial indicating
you could 'sign in' when using the organizer and I cannot find this function.

Signing in to Photoshop.com from within PSE lets you sync your photos with Photoshop.com directly from PSE.  Signing in to Photoshop.com doesn't affect your use of other online services like Flickr, Smugmug, etc.
If you use Photoshop.com only occasionally and don't want to resolve the sign-in problem, you can export the photos you want to upload from the PSE Organizer using File > Export. Then you can use the Photoshop.com uploader to upload them directly.
