Mac will not advance past "Optimizing you Mac" when loading Yosemite.  Have to go through set up, agree to terms and conditions, keychain, etc.. everytime I start my Mac.

Having issues with Yosemite.  Every time I reboot my Mac I have to go through and agree to terms and conditions, setting up keychain, etc... It states that it is optimizing, but the bar which appears under the launchpad icon never moves.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I have an appointment at the Apple store today, but was wondering : will all of the information and files on my desktop be lost? Or is this a logic board problem?
Any help is much MUCH appricated.

I'm not sure, if you're out of warrenty it'll cost quite a bit for the replacement of the logic board replacement...unless you have apple care. you could ask apple to try and recover your hard drive but i'm not sure.

    Acrobat Reader

    Hi 2181pine,
Type Adobe Reader on 'Spotlight' and launch Reader. It will prompt the 'End User License Agreement'.
    Click on 'Accept'.
After this it should work fine for you.

was forced to install Adobe again (maybe just update it) and can't get past step 3/3 because its forcing me to buy it. now its half installed and i need to agree to terms and conditions..

Let's start with what you are trying to install. Adobe Reader is free, so it won't be forcing you to buy anything. So
    - What are you trying to install (full name, please, Adobe make lots of things)
    - What system (e.g. Windows 7, Mac OS Lion, iPad...)
    - Where do you go (what web address) to start off?
    - Why were you "forced" to do this?

Where do I find agree to terms and conditions for iTunes? Once I agree will I be able to see and listen to the music I transferred from my computer to my iPad?

Settings>iCloud>Storage and Backup. If iCloud backup is turned on, you should see the last backup date under "Backup Now".

  • My iPhone will not advance past the wake-up page when the Apple is displayed.

I charged my 100% dead iPhone today via a USB port and afterwards it would, when turned on, not advance past the wake-up Apple display page, then would go back to charging.  What can I do?

You'll probably have to put it in recovery mode in iTunes and restore it.  Hold the home button down while you connect to iTunes via USB 2.0 or higher, iTunes should pop up and say "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode" then give you the option to restore it.  Hopefully you had everything backed up....  Before you try that, though, you could always try doing a hard reset.  (hold down home and sleep/wake at the same time for about 15-20 seconds and see if it will boot back up to your homescreen.)  Hopefully you can do that and not lose any data.  But putting it in recovery mode and restoring it will at least get it working again.

  • HT4623 I have an iPhone 4 and have installed iOS 7, but I can't get past the setup. It gets hung up on agreeing to terms and conditions. Anyone know how to fix?

The setup hangs up at 'agreeing to terms and condtions'. Anyone know how to fix?

I seem to have gotten around the issue. I set the date of my iPad to 1 month prior (July), restarted the iPad, and the session timeout blockade went away.  Many folks are saying this worked if they changed the date on their Mac or iPad or whatever device they were using for the update.

  • Mac will not boot past Grey Screen

    Hello;
My 2007 iMac won't boot past the grey screen, not even with the Apple logo in the centre of the screen. I've tried booting into the Boot Manager, tried using the recovery partition, tried booting from an external USB and FireWire drive, reset the NVRAM, reset the SMC, tried booting with a DIskWarrior boot disk (can't even eject the disk now... i've tried holding onto the mouse to force eject), changed the RAM back to the original...
Anyone else have any suggestions? I can't really figure it out and i need this machine up and running. I appreciate the help!

  • My ibook G4 will not get past the restart screen when upgrading to leopard

I bought the family pack to install on both my personal and professional macs. The install went fine on my mac mini, though it took forever. However, I am trying to upgrade my ibook G4 (which is more then qualified for the upgrade) and every time I restart it by holding down the power button I get the same result. The screen is grey with the Apple logo then it just goes straight to another telling me to restart the computer. The Leopard disk is still in the dvd drive and I can't eject it. Does anyone know how I can solve this problem and either install Leopard or just go back to the way things were with Tiger?

That's a kernel panic and it looks like you might have a hardware issue. Look [here|http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20031210193237190] to eject the stuck cd using open firmware. After insert the cd that came with your ibook and run the extended part of the apple hardware test and see what it says. If not then try running fsck which you will find how to do [here|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417].

  • Premier elements 13 will not install, thinks I run Vista when I actually have Windows 7

    Help?

The last window where you have to click the install button, bottom right, was greyed out. An error message said the install wouldn't run as it said I was running Vista.
    I'm using Windows 7 Service Pack 1.
However, I did a restart on my laptop and clicked set up. Everything was fine. Premier Elements installed without a hitch. By this time it was nearly midnight and I forgot to go back in here and say so.
    Thanks, Jeff.
