Mac will not sync with ipad over wifi

I have iTunes set to sync with the ipad over wifi; wifi is turned on on both mac and ipad; both are logged in but i can only sync using a cable plugged into the mac. Any ideas why.
Thanks for the help

Your MacBook must be quite old.  My suggestion is to sell it and replace it with a newer model that can support later software.  You have probably received many years of good service from the old machine.
Good luck.

  • Photostream will not sync with ipad

My new ipad will not sync with any of my current photos, any pictures that i already have or have taken with my iphone will not download, but they will download to my pc but will not download to ipad. Also any photos taken with the ipad will not upload on photostream. Everything is connected with the same profile, and are all on wifi. Tried turning off photostream and turning back on but no results and turning the ipad on and off, did nothing too.
    Need Help.

I had the same problem, but after looking in other discussions concluded that when the level of the iPad-battery is less then 20% fotostream does not work!!!

  • Aperture will not sync with ipad 2

My Aperture 3.1.1 will not sync photos using I tunes into my new Ipad 2..it was working until I changed some images in a smart folder and how I tunes thinks there are no images in the smart folder (which there are)...it looks to be an Itunes issue not a sync issue per se with the Ipad2...

  • Changed name of iPhone, now will not sync with iPad.

I rebuilt my iMac.  And changed name of iPhone.  Now my iPad does not sync with iPhone. I purchased app on iPhone but does not appear on iPad.  How do you set up iPad to sync with new iPhone.
Furthermore my iPad is not showing up in iTunes when I initiate a wi-fi sync from iPad.   I see the sync icon spinning on iPad but do not see it in iTunes.
All this may be stemming from fact I just rebuilt my iMac.  Prior to the rebuild he iPhone and iPads both synced with each other and the iPad would show up in iTunes when initiated sync from iPad.
I look forward to your replies on this.

  • Mac email not syncing with iPad / iPhone

I am having a problem with Mail on my Mac not syncing up properly, and the problem is with the iPad and iPhone. The mail account is an IMAP account on Godaddy; the problem goes back before Yosemite, but it has taken me quite a while to find out what the problem is, so I'm hoping for a solution.
The problem: I get a new email on my Godaddy account. It appears almost instantly on my iPad and iPhone, but it does not appear on my Mac. But, this doesn't happen all of the time, sometimes I do get the message on my Mac as well. I have worked with Godaddy support, and they had me delete the account from my Mac an recreate it, seemed to work but a couple hours later it broke again.
Diagnosis of problem: Okay, so I started trying to diagnose the problem on my own to see if I can find a repeatable scenario, and I did. Here is what I did and, ultimately, what the cause is:
I logged into GoDaddy's webmail application so I could monitor when email came in, then check to see if it was being picked up on the Mac. Whenever I found one on webmail that did not appear on the Mac I checked my iPad and iPhone, that is when I found out that the mail was appearing on those devices all of the time, without fail.
When a failure occurred I quit Mail on the Mac and restarted it, it alway found the missing mail, even if I had read it on the iPhone and iPad.
With this in hand what I tried was shutting down the WiFi connection on both the iPad and iPhone whenever I was home. What I found was that when the WiFi connection was turned off I never missed a single email on the Mac.
So, next step was to turn the WiFi connection back on for both devices and monitor emails. This is what I found:
If the email was read first on the mobile devices then it never made it to the Mac.
If the email appeared first on the Mac, then it also appeared on both mobile devices.
So, the problem is that if the mobile devices get hold of the email before the Mac gets at it, the Mac never sees the emails unless I quit Mail and restart it. But, if the Mac gets hold of the mail first, it appears on both mobile devices as well
Any Ideas / suggestions? Other than turning off WiFi on the mobile devices every day when I get home .

No, but you can go to your email provider's site and set up forwarding for your current email address to your new one.  That would allow not to miss any email while your friends are changing their contact information for you to your new address.  I did that with my old ISP POP account when I switched to iCloud email.  Just set up forwarding and inform everyone of your new address.

  • .Mac will not sync with G5

Earlier today I was working in my Address Book when and IChat upgrade was installed. The Address Book stopped responding and I had to restart my computer. Once the computer restarted, all of my addresses were gone. I have talked to AppleCare about this problem.
However, I had a trial account at .Mac that expired 47 days ago that was established using a different G5. I was able to go online and restore that account. Many of the addresses seem to be there. However, I cannot Sync them to my new G5 iMac at OS10.4.8. I have registered the new computer and it exists in the Advanced tab. I have talked to AppleCare about this also. Also, the Address Book preferences are set to Sync with .Mac. AppleCare believes everything on the computer is set correctly, However when I try to Sync I receive the following error:
Invalid response received from .Mac. Could not complete synchronization - please try again later.
I have been trying now for 6 hours.
    Any thoughts?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
iSync has nothing at all to do with .Mac synchronization anymore - that is not the responsibility of .Mac Sync, for which another forum exists, here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=957
That said, DO NOT attempt to synchronize with .Mac as the result will be the removal of all of the matching records, those which once existed in your Address Book application, from .Mac. Poof: no contact records!
You must instead reset the contact information on your computer, using the data stored on the .Mac servers. To do that…
Launch the System Preferences application and select the .Mac pane from the Internet & Network panel. Press the Advanced tab and wait for your synchronized accounts list to refresh. Then press the Reset Sync Data… button, select Contacts from the Replace menu if you want to limit the activity to contact records. Insure that the default data flow indicated by the left facing arrow is highlighted in blue, and the animated orange arrow moves from right to left, showing flow from your .Mac to your computer, then press the Replace button.
That will fill your Address Book with records from your .Mac address book.

  • Bought a book on my mac in iTunes will not sync with iPad

I bought a book on my mac in itunes it does not show up on my ipad

Even if you bought it on your Mac in iTunes, you should be able to open it in your iPad.  Try rebooting your iPad.  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears and your iPad will restart.  See if the book shows up in your library.
Also, when in iBooks, open the Store and click on purchased on the lower left hand side of the page.  All the books you've purchase should be in the list.  If the book you purchased isn't downloaded, click on download and it should download.

  • I have a Macbook with Tiger 10.4.1 and I am thinking of buying an Ipad .  Can I plug in my Ipod touch to my Ipad to transfer my music as I understand Tiger will not sync with Ipad

I have also been told about Itunes Match but again I dont think this will work with Tiger

You can't connect an iPod to an iPad to transfer content between the two - the most that you might be able to do is to copy photos from an iPod Touch to the iPad via the camera connection kit, but you can't tramsfer music. The minimum specs for syncing from a Mac is OS X 10.5.8
The minimum requirements for iTunes Match for a Mac are (from here) :
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or later
    Windows Vista or later
    iTunes 10.5.1 or later
iOS 5 or later on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation), iPad, or iPad 2

  • Photos will not sync with ipad (3)

I have tryed the normal stuff...restart, new folders, hard restart, did not try the software reset.  I had this issue before and the software reset worked but i had to re-set all the passwords and stuff it gets to be a pain.
Is there a way to correct this issue without resetting the ipad and how then can i prevent this from happening again?
