Macbook 2006 fan issues , someone please help!!!
Hey there,
I'm curently trying to repair a freinds macbook 2006 1.8ghz. The fan orignally was rattling then ti stopped and the macbook turned it self off to prevent overheating components. From this i belived it just to be the fan as the issue, so ive replaced the fan . Turning back on filled with optimism and temperature gauge is telling me that the fan is not in action.
I have also reset the SMC i believe , followed the steps and reset the pVram i also believe.
I do not have access to a hardware test disk for the system which is currently running 10.6.8 (snow leoperd) ..
Any suggestions would be very much apreicated ..

Log out of all users on the computer except (obviously) the one you want to use iTunes to sync in.

Push Notification Issues Someone PLEASE Help IDK Why Everyones Not Responding Me!!
I have iPhone 5S thats new and it was glitchy from the beginning when I bought this..I used to have another iPhone 5S which I SHOULD HAVE kept!! Now, this phone push notifications from twitter don't pop up...only at times..what should i do??? i can't spend money for shipping fee to keep exchanging iPhones!! I tried doing ios restore and yes it did work BUT not for twitter..it only pops up at times and this NEVER happened on the previous phones!! I checked settings and everything was enabled. what should i do?? I'm VERY scared and worried!!! I'm begging you please someone help me! I don't have time left. Does this seem like a hardware problem??
What should I do if I already did a iOS restore once already couple days ago? Should I do it again? I'm worried if it's the device being loose somewhere in device or damaged

Standard troubleshooting step for these kinds of issues is to reset SMC.

First of all, I live in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Sometimes, I use a VPN to search on the web here. I purchased Toy Story 3 on my MacBook Pro 2011 OS/X - Lion through iTunes. I initially had trouble downloading it which may be due to being on and off the VPN but after a while it finally downloaded and shows up in my iTunes library on my MacBook.
Under my Apple ID account (which is the only Apple ID account I have), I look under purchase history and it shows that I paid for Toy Story which is where I got my Order # from. But if you go to the iTunes Store then to the Quick Links then click on Purchased, under all my Movies, it does NOT show Toy Story 3 as one of my movies.
Now when I go to my iPad (3rd gen.), Toy Story 3 does not show up under purchased movies (all or not on my iPad). It does not show up on my Apple TV as well. If I want to have Toy Story 3 on my iPad or Apple TV, then it says I have to purchase it again.
I have searched for help via Apple support communities but so far none of their solutions have worked for me. I have tried logging off iTunes & App Store on iPad and also shutting down the iPad. I also made sure that under iTunes Preferences>Store that iTunes in the Clouds purchases is checked. Can someone please help me with this? Your consideration is greatly appreciated. I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago. I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam. I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.

Also before installing Please go to Applications-->Utilities--> Adobe installers and if there is any uninstaller for CS5.5 , you can remove it and do a fresh install.

In the libary of iPhoto I do have double pictures only in the year 2006. Can someone please tell me how to remove the double pictures. I did rebuilt the libary but that solution did not help me any further.
I think the warning is very clear.
What warning? Where do you say that this plan you suggest will lose at least some, and possibly a whole lot of metadata, plus the original files of edited photos. This is significant dataloss. And you should warn people that this is the case.
While your metadata and originals may not be important to you, that is not necessarily the case for other users.

This is nonsense. The iPhoto Library has no need of "cleaning" and certainly not in any way that trashes a whole lot of data.
I'm very impressed that you assess the application based on the sound of the name. It's not a common way to review applications, but I'm sure it has some merit.
FWIW it has been recommended on this - and other - sites for many years and has proven safe and effective.

I am super tired of having to put all of my movies and music on the hard drive just to have it erased again. The products I am using are WD 4TB My Book and 2 TB My Passport external hard drives. When it happens, there is always an icon that reads, EFI, along with the My Book icon. Thank you for your assisstance.

Yes, you have WD software installed REMOVE IT !!
WD has warned its customers about their huge mistake that their software doesnt work on Mavericks and causes data loss.
(also dont use WD drives anymore)

I need to download all of my photos from my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 to my MacBook Air because there is no more storage space available. I want to make sure all my photos are not lost and that they do not return to the original devices because of the cloud. Can someone please help ?
Connect your devices to the computer with the USB cable (one device at a time) and import the photos via iPhoto or Image Capture.
If you have not changed any default settings on your computer, iPhoto will automatically launch when you plug in the device. Then follow the import prompts. -

It's called a dock connector, not a USB port.
i found a product in the online store, that i guess you place the ipod mini on, and it gives you up to 20 or so more hours of time but then it says that you have to have a firewire port or cable?
What is it? The firewire port is on the computer, not the iPod.
If the original battery is going bad, the first thing to do is get that sorted out. -
Can someone please help. I have a really old MacBook that is running really slow. I want to wipe everything and reinstall the latest software but don't know how to do this. Also is there a way of keeping Microsoft Office when doing this? Thanks in advance
You do realise that wiping the disk means that everything on the disk is erased. Everything. Photos, music, emails, ...
So the first piece of advice is to make sure you have a back up of everything.
You need the OS disk to reintsall the operating system. You will use that disk first to erase the drive, then to reinstall the OS.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
