Macbook 2009 case help

Hey guys, I want to buy this keyboard cover / hard case for my 2009 Macbook (its a 13.3 inch). It says its  for a 13.3 inch Macbook pro, will it fit? I saw some listings for similiar covers that specifically said it wouldnt fit but this particulary one doesn't say anything at all. I don't want to waste any money, I just can't get a for sure answer if it will fit or not. Thanks for any help,
here's the amazon listing of the cover I want : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005N57X20
my model ID if needed : A1181

As the A1181 is a little taller and a rather less streamlined shape compared to the Pro models, I would strongly suggest that this case is not going to fit. If possible you need to find one that states that it is made for the A1181.

    Checked the startup disk lately?
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click:  Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If the disk needs repairing, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you can access the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.
Be aware, OS X Recovery requires a high speed broadband connection.
Backup all your important files before repairing or restoring OS X just in case.

  • Macbook Air Case - HELP

    Hello!
I had my macbook air for about a month when it was splashed with water and completely died the cost of repair was 1300 more then the actual laptop. With this being said dose anyone know of a good WATERPROOF hard shell case of soft sleeve. I have looked on this support comunity/ google/ amazon / ebay and have yet to find one.

There isn't a case out there which will allow you to use the MacBook Air and offer waterproof protection.
There is a process called Liquipel or HZO Waterblock, which repels water from electronics itself. There are plenty of Youtube videos that show Liquipel in action.
They offer the waterproofing service for smart phones and tablets, but not laptops YET.
    Hopefully, soon.

If you are trying to recover photo stream photos, they are only held in iCloud for 30 days.  All you would be able ro recover is photo stream photos from the last 30 days.
If you have an iOS device that still has the photo stream photos one it, you can save them to the camera roll by opening the my photo stream album, tapping Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  Once in the camera roll, they can be imported to iPhoto on your Mac as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

While we all have MacBooks in this forum most of us don’t use iCloud. There's an iCloud Support Community where everybody uses iCloud. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/icloud/icloud_on_my_mac

  • Where can I buy a certain Macbook A1278 case?

I recently picked up a mid-2010 Macbook Pro, 13.3 inches. It's an A1278 model, and I'm wanting to buy a good case for it.
I've seen on multiple occasions people with matte black cases which will cause the apple to change color, and I'd prefer something like that.
However, if it is unknown where I can get a case like this, is there anywhere where I can just view a good selection of cases for my computer?, rather than just browsing Amazon (Which is less useful in this matter than you'd think)

Changes in build model years, keep the third party manufacturers of accessories and
cases, looking to the new product market; so ones made a few years ago no longer are.
Some companies may have new-old-stock, or clean condition pre-owned; given there
has been changes to the shape of the MacBook/Pro case and port locations, the new
cases won't fit and are scarce. Demand is toward fulfilling the newer model's design.
Some of the actual resellers, not auction or one-of offers by individuals, may be able to
locate cases & accessories for models no longer in production. But, the trail gets cold.
edit: in the past some of the google located items had come close to the goal, though
the stock varies and there isn't a stockpile of them available now; it is hit or miss:
    https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=mid+2010+macbook+pro+13+inch+protective+cas e&tbm=shop
I've attempted to help others looking to locate correct fitting cases for older MacBook
models, and other than the rare Amazon seller or some other long-time reseller who
happens across some new-old-stock from some other supplier warehouse, there isn't
much of anything out there. And I'd be wary of buying from some china-direct sites
online because you cannot be certain of the site security or what happens to your info.
Scarce inventory, or virtually no inventory, is a big part of locating out-of-production items.
Sorry to not be of much help; perhaps another may reply with more information on this.
    Good luck & happy computing!

    Bag n’ Tag It
    by: Digital Dude
In today’s world of everything slim and integrated, more techno fanatics and Spartan travelers are embracing the minimalist approach. To that end, I was looking for an alternative to my bulky computer briefcase for travel. So, I ordered the “Buzz” by Tom Bihn.
Initially, I was a bit skeptical since the price of the Buzz is rather high for a nylon bag in today’s crowded market. Fortunately, the folks at Tom Bihn have an excellent guarantee with great customer service. If you receive the bag, and it’s not what you expected, simply return it without having to request an authorization. Try that with any other bag manufacturer!
    Exterior:
My first impression after opening the box was that the Buzz is in fact, a very well made nylon sling-bag with attractive accents. The initial fit on the back and shoulder was comfortable, and the crossover strap is wide and it fits guys and gals without interference. It’s also nicely padded and has a large durable quick disconnect fastener below your left rib area. There is a smaller adjustable waist strap for a more secure and balanced fit. I found it wasn’t necessary for casual carry although quite useful when riding a bike or running to catch that flight.
    Interior:
The Buzz has two main compartments with waterproof zippers that don’t snag and they seal very well.
The main compartment houses a unique padded panel with a fitted corner, similar to a fitted bed sheet that stretches over one corner of the MacBook Pro. The space between the computer holder and the zippered panel provides room for a book, magazines, documents, or even a small travel neck pillow.
The second zippered compartment is on the very back and is slightly smaller or stepped down from the main compartment. It includes the usual key strap and some angled stitched pockets for pens, business cards and one larger pocket that can hold a Passport or airline tickets, etc.
The third compartment is on the exterior right side and is made of elastic material and is designed to hold a bottle, small umbrella or equivalent. It also has two pull straps to further secure its contents.
Finally, there is a super convenient compartment in the center of the crossover strap with a Velcro closure. This is my favorite feature, since it holds your cell, iPod or more notably, the new iPhone securely across your chest.
    Field Tests:
I harnessed the Buzz, adjusted the straps and wore it for a week in and around town. The Buzz and its sling design holds' the 15-inch MacBook Pro, cables, charger, etc. in a vertical orientation on the back. This permits full range of motion for both arms, unlike most soft-sided computer briefcases.
At times, I wanted to shift the load, so I simply reached around with my left hand and lifted up slightly on the bottom as I grabbed the ferry-loop (top strap) with my right hand. In this manner, you can easily adjust the tension on the crossover strap.
The Buzz shoulder bag is advertised as offering “moderate” protection, although it’s quite adequate for most common travel activities. However, I wanted to see if I could fit my MacBook Pro while stuffed in the Tucano “Second Skin” sleeve. To my delight, it fit nearly perfect as though it was made for “The Buzz”. This combination effectively increases the travel protection by at least 2:1.
    Wish List:
Accessory provisions or lack thereof, is a shortfall with many bag manufactures. User’s end up stuffing their charger, cables and adapters into secondary bags which all end up at the bottom, resulting in disorganized clutter. I visualize a removable fitted panel with separate compartments or straps that hold a basic array of typical computing items. In fact, I ended up using one of my luggage toiletry panels to help organize my computer gear in the Buzz. It holds everything vertically and eliminated the pile at the bottom.
After field-testing, I decided this bag was definitely a keeper’. However, I would prefer a tighter fit of the MacBook Pro or a matching sleeve. I would also favor a more contoured and softer crossover strap with an exterior I.D. card and pen/pencil slot. Since I’m dreaming here, how about a less abrasive backside for improved comfort.
    Conclusion:
The Buzz sling bag is a well-made, lightweight, ergonomic alternative to a backpack or the horizontal briefcase design. It holds most everything one might need for mobile computing while providing an excellent provision for Apple’s new iPhone.
    Regards,
    ~DD

  • Macbook Pro Case Very Flimsey

Recently I have noticed mysterious deformities to my macbook pro case. I have a 15" and in the 4 months that I have had it I have never dropped it but dents are started to appear in different places around the case. I always carry it in a case to protect it and I am very careful around so I have no idea what could be causing these dents and it is very frustrating. I was wondering if apple would be able to fix it or if they would be willing to exchange the computer because maybe its my particular case. Alright thanks for any help if you can provide it.

    Hey LongPole,
Are you using a laptop bag? One that has it's own padded compartment? That is really what you need. I wouldn't just put it in with books. Either buy a sleeve or a bag with a compartment.

My external hard disk not working properly in my macbook pro . anyone help me . its seagate  hard disk

You need to get some software that allows your Mac to read and write to the NTFS disk.  There's a whole bunch of stuff out there, but this program has a good review, and you can try it for free.  I would move everything off of your external drive, reformat it into Mac OSX extended, and use it for your Mac.  You don't need NTFS anymore, unless you still have a Windows computer that needs it.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Mac OS X doesn't come with iLife applications, so you have to install them manually after installing Mac OS X.
Insert the Applications disc or Mac OS X Install Disc 2 DVD and install iLfe applications. Then, open  > Software Update, and install the latest update. If you want, you can purchase iMovie, GarageBand and iPhoto in the App Store, so you will get the most recent version

After identifying the exact connectors you need, check the Apple Store online and/or eBay...you should be able to buy a cable with the correct connector on each end, rather than fooling with an adapter.
