Macbook 4.1 Installer damage!!???
Everytime i try to install a package it refuses n gives message;
Installer is unable to open the package. This is likely due to Install framework's runner executable not having the proper ownership and/or permissions.
So i googled n started poking around in disk utilities!!

Hey thank you but i have seen that one. I am ready to give up lol. i am hoping i can just go get snowleopard and somehow wipe everything n start over?? Am i able to do that with the SL install disc? And would it magically repair the damage i did creating users n messing with everything lol.?????fukk i was as happy as a pig in **** till i try to download some goodies::::((((

Adobe AIR installation damaged
I get the 'Adobe AIR application installation damaged' message every time when starting help from any of the applications in CS5. How can I repair this safely to get help working?
I'm running OSX 10.6.8 previously upgraded from 10.5. I also started with CS4 and upgraded to CS5. I do not remember in what order sw where changed if that is of importance. I also remember that the upgrade from CS4 to CS5 left alot of CS4 stuff behind that I later uninstalled to free disk space.
I have had this problem some time but I haven't been i n a hurry to solve the problem until now. The last event I remember related to this was that in the middle of stressed work I rejected an update of the AIR sw with the believe that the update will be available later.
As soon as I start help in say DW I get the message as described above and also the instruction to 'Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance' regarding AIR. What does that mean? As far as I can see the Adobe AIR is not part of the CS5 so it is not covered in the general installation app. There are separate install and unistall apps for AIR and when trying them out the install asks for a package that I have no clue of what it is and the unistall alerts that if I continue other dependent applications will not work. I aborted both tries. I cannot affort a production stop in using the DW & FW at this time.
Finally, I'm not using Adobe AIR as far as I know or mabe I am without knowing it when using DW. It probably just came with CS4 or 5. The help complains and points out AIR as damaged as soon as help starts. The applications in CS5 are running fine as far as I can se. -
A previous update and uninstall went wrong and each time I boot my laptop I get the following error message; "This installation of this application is damaged. Try reinstalling or contacting the publisher for assistance."
I have tried using older installers to reinstall to uninstall but with no success. Have waited for the recent update but still unable to install.
Laptop OS is Vista.
Have tried all possible solutions from intranet without success. I dont know what else to try so any assistance would be great.
Latest install appeared to be a success but when I try to reinstall BBC iPlayer the error message reappears.

Hello, I keep getting a message on start up of ADOBE AIR. 'The installation of this application is damaged. Try reinstalling or contacting the publisher for assistance'. My system is VISTA. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Air without any resolution. I have run Revo to try and fully uninstall, and then reinstalled Air, again without solving the problem. I am not a tech person, so can anyone help in laymans terms please? Thanks, John.

The AASP I went to services both Macs and iPhones (and was actually within that list,) and I was very surprised earlier that they refused to help me with repairing my iPhone 5, even if I voluntarily and expressly said that I am willing to pay for the cost. The service provider said he can't help me with anything and advised that I have it shipped to Singapore (and since that is very difficult for me now, I came here instead to ask for advice).

If I push the start/power button long enough, it shuts down, but I cannot keep doing this forever ? What's happening ? I made sure alle programs/windows quit before trying to turn off...

the first three days after installing mavericks, the choice window you talk about didn't appear at all. (only that black screen and a forced "turnoff click" (which didn't feel fine to hear ;-) But ! AFter the first three days, the choice window did appear again, with the choice to switch off/restart/etc. so evertything back to normal (except, before the installation of mavericks, the choice window appeared already the same second after pushing the start button. Now, it's like you said, waiting 2 full seconds. still feels "scary", but anyway, at least i can turn off the macbook in a normal, safe way again. So thanks for your reaction , a nice day toU2 ;-) -

If you start your Mac in "safe mode" (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455), OS X will run the equivalent of a Disk Utility "repair disk" operation. -
Battery doesn't work in MacBook Air after water damage
Hi all,
Loooong story related to problems I've had with access to certain pages using my home internet connection (turns out that's the ISP and they just didn't want to admit it).
ANYWAY, my water bottle top popped off, and poured water all over my MacBook Air 11" mid 2012. I've had it sitting for about a week - did the whole rice thing etc. I've not connected it to a power socket (scared something might happen), but I have connected it to my hyperjuice external battery. It turns on with this and works completely fine it appears, except for a little sluggishness on some keys and the trackpad. I'm hoping this will lessen as it dries out. However, as soon as I disconnect the external battery it dies. It will not turn on on its own even though the battery has 97% power.
Can I replace the battery? Do you think that will suffice? And does anyone know about how much it would cost to do this?
What's my best plan of action here? I'm a student, and I can't really afford a new laptop (& the 17" is too big and heavy to take to uni). So, in failing to fix this one, I'm not exactly sure what I'll do.
ThanksYour best bet is to suck it up and take it to Apple. It'll be costly but water damage is, unfortunately, the gift that keeps on giving. It really needs to be professionally repaired. Check with your renters (or your parents) home/renters insurance to see if the computer is covered.

Bootcamp windows 7 x64 installation on macbook air 2012 installation screen problem

Well, I've seen lots of those threads as well and most failed to manage cooperation of Bitlocker and FileVault, have trouble to get a second partition for windows to use with bitlocker or truecrypt etc. But these issues don't apply to me anymore.
Next there are threads instructing how to get a USB stick to work with Bitlocker claiming to have GPT instead of MBR so EFI is gaining any access on them. Those cases seem to work with MacBooks running with Windows, only, thus passing the issues mentioned in paragraph before as well.
And there is my confusion originating from: I can remember some sites claiming to have trouble with EFI on a Mac using Lion, but all those sites are older than Lion's final release date. So I don't know if there is a similar issue today or if I'm actually missing some option ... rEFIt isn't working with Lion according to the refit site itself. Some sites claim EFI is behaving differently on whether there is a super drive or not as Lion isn't supporting USB booting as long as booting from DVD/CD is available ... what's true about those facts? Is my problem related to having a super drive? Are things getting better as soon as I'm replacing my superdrive by a second internal drive? Is it that strange or some sort of plausible behaviour?
According to GPT, Windows 7 is obviously failing to properly detect hybrid MBR/GPT setups on USB sticks while that's what MacOS' disk manager is doing on having GPT-based single partition stick with exFat format. Instead of using the second hybridized partition it's accessing the protected part, only. If I'm converting a disk to GPT in windows everything works fine, but then without hybridized MBR ...
Regarding the fans I'm with you ... as soon as processor load is exceeding 5% the fans get quite noisy ... -

I was having this same exact issue, and I actually referred to your post hoping for a fix (that I obviously did not find), however, I did discover a work around!!! I use "Adobe AIR" for my "Pandora One Desktop Application", but every time I opened the installer for "Pandora One" it gave me the same exact error. Here is what I did to fix it (Hoping it helps y'all too):
BEFORE starting ensure that the "AIR Program" that you want to install is downloaded and located in your "Downloads" folder
Uninstall "Adobe AIR" using the included uninstaller (Navigate to your "Utilities" folder in a "New Finder Window" in order to find this, once you're there you can't miss it)
Delete all previous "Adobe AIR" downloads
Download a new "Adobe AIR" Installer from "Adobe" (Sounds redundant I know, but bear with me)
Install "Adobe AIR" using the most recent download
VERY IMPORTANT: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THE "AIR PROGRAM" YET
Once the "Adobe AIR" Installation is complete navigate to "File" and select "New Finder Window"
Once there select the "Applications" folder from the menu bar on the left of the window (Should be under "Favorites")
Navigate to your "Utilities" Folder (Again)
Locate the icon for "Adobe AIR Application Installer" and open it; This will open a new window
Once the new window is open, navigate to your "Downloads" folder and locate the "AIR Program" that you want to install select the "AIR Program" and click "Open" (Bottom right hand corner)
TaDa!!!
Following those steps should culminate in the initialization of the install process for the program that you weren't able to install before, and from there it is business as usual (selecting and answering to the necessary install prompts for the "AIR Program"). It seems like there is a glitch somewhere between "Yosemite" and "Adobe AIR" that prevents the "Adobe AIR Application Installer" from auto-running properly when you try to open the sub-program. However, initializing the "Adobe AIR Application Installer" FIRST allows it to get up and running before the sub-program communicates with it. This fixed it for me right away, please let me know whether it works for your specific "Adobe AIR"/"AIR Program" set, if not I will download your "AIR Program" and see if I can't find another way. Also, has anyone contacted either Adobe Support or Apple Support directly with this yet??

Macbook pro 17'' water damage... battery kindaaa works
Like a million other people asking questions on here...I spilled coffee on my Late 2011 macbook pro 17'' and encountered problems since. After the damaged I followed all the recommended steps to make sure I could try to limit any damage that has occurred...and was some what successful. I can still use my computer while its plugged in...A black x is in corner telling me no battery installed. This happened a year ago and Im still using the computer while plugged in. Ive looked into further fixing it and removed the logic board and cleaned it and it didnt change any thing. I have noticed that if I start the computer up, and then restart it I can remove the power cord while its rebooting and the computer will work unplugged. The black x is still there, telling me no battery is installed...but I am in fact running off batter power...Now I know I should consider myself lucky that I can get away with this but my question is, is there any other things I could look into to get this computer to give me correct battery information? New battery (even though it runs under battery power) or new battery connecter (even though its giving the computer power) or anything else along the line that is replaceable?
Some more info....Can not reset SMC, nothing at all happens...when running AHT the macbook freezes....After the reboot trick, if put to sleep with no power cord it wont wake up, BUT if restarted with no power cable it will boot up and continue to work without the power cord.
I am thinking theres a weird short somewhere in the logic board but didnt know if anything else could be faulty to causes this weird behavior.
After re reading that I know it can be difficult to follow, but if theres anymore info I could give let me know.

Unfortunatly electrons are considerably faster than humans, you did all all the right things, but us carbon based units are slow.
The battery/connections may have suffered damage, as well as the MagSafe port/connector/cable.
You can make an appointment at an Apple store Genius bar, and have it disgnosed, the diagnosis is free. They will then give you your options, as well as explain the extent of the damage. Unfortunatly liquid damage is the worst, they have the resources to do a full disgnostic, and deal with this everyday. This will at the least, the known extent of your issue(s) as well as the repair pricing.
It is impossible for anyone here to give you any further advice. (at least that I have seen)

Folio Builder Installer Damaged
I recently launched my Folio Builder panel and signed it. I told me that I need to install an update. I followed the link and downloaded the update. When I opened the installer, I got this message: "Installer.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image. "Install.app" is on the disk image "FolioPanel-CS55-12.2.3.dmg". Firefox.app downloaded this disk image today at 11.34 AM."
I tried to also install the Folio Builder tools but also got the same message.
I am working on a Mac OSX and recently upgraded to Mountain Lion. Could that be the issue? If so, how do I resolve?Turn off Gatekeeper.
