Macbook air 2012 battery issues after upgrading to Yosemite

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite about 2 months ago the battery on my MBA mid-2012 has been acting strangely. The battery drains considerably while sleeping with the lid closed. I don't use the laptop every day so it can often sleep for a few days. It's so bad that after 2-3 nights the battery is completely dead. I've reset the SMC, but so far it has not helped.
Any ideas on the cause?

Hi all,
I have a problem from my macbook air purchased at 2012 and current version is Yosemite 10.10.
I upgraded my mac to Yosemite in Oct and it starts not able to restart or shut down. I try to update the software as I see in the App Store and I once again not able to restart. The only way I can do is shut down it manually by pressing the Power button and the software is not yet updated despite it restarted again.
Can anyone teach me how to handle this issue? as it is driving me crazy!!!

Battery Issues After Upgrade

I have noticed that after iOS4. Battery life is horrible on my phone it doesn't even last half day before it dies completely.
I turned off gps, bluetooth . What else can I do to get a decent battery life.

After upgrading to 4.01, I notice that when I plug my phone in it gets really hot and the charge jumps really quickly and within a short time the phone thinks is fully charged. This is probably what's causing your short battery life. What I do is either let the phone go until it turns itself off (battery dies completely), or as soon as I plug it in I restart the phone and it seems to correct itself. I hope that Apple fixes this problem with the next update!!!

WIFI connection issue: After upgrading to Yosemite, I lose my connect in SOAS, university of London. Overtime, it rejects me as Authentication fails in this network. Even the school technicianer cannot fix. I wonder how to downgrade or any solution?

Freeze/Battery issues after upgrade to iOS 8.0.2

Since upgrading my 3rd Gen iPad WiFi to iOS 8.0.2 I have been experiencing freezes where nothing works. I can't open apps or do anything. If I hold the on/off button down eventually it comes back to life. Second issue is battery life. Last night I closed my smart cover and made sure the display was off. Battery at the time was 62%. This morning I opened the iPad smart cover and the battery was down too 23%. This has happened a number of time over the past week or so. I have Blue Tooth and Location Services off.
Both of these issues are new after upgrading to iOS 8.0.2. No problems whatsoever prior to that.
Not sure if I'm putting this in the correct category or not.
Is there a way to wipe the iPad clean and reinstall everything from scratch or is my iPad just shot? Thanks in advance.

Same sort of issues here on my ipad3. iOS 8 turned it from a nice slick device into a jerky, laggy pain. Tried all the reset options and it's still pretty crap.

New Macbook Air - Possible Battery Issues?

Is it normal for my new 2013 macbook air to lose a tremendous amount of power overnight when it is sleeping? When I put it to sleep at night with over 50% remaining on the battery, the charge is usually about 10% in the morning. Sometimes the device is extrememly warm as well.
I did change the sleep settings so that it does not save the info on my RAM to my SSD and locked the sleep image file to prevent the computer from using it. Is that a possible reason for the battery issues?

I "fixed" it by reverting my sleep settings back to default hibernate mode 3, which means that every time I put the computer to sleep it will save my RAM to the SSD via the sleepimage file.
As of changing that setting back, my Air has been been sleeping properly (I think).
I didn't find a solution where I could prevent the sleepimage file from being created/used every time I put the computer to sleep and still get the Air to sleep properly.
I think what was originally happening was that because I locked the sleepimage file, the computer spent the entire time it was suppose to be sleeping trying to access the sleepimage file - causing an enormous amount of battery drainage over time.

Battery issue after upgrading jelly bean to Kitkat version for S650. Urgent solution required

I am new to this forum. Kindly help me.
I upgraded my lenovo S650 from Jelly bean to Kitkat version 4.4. Due to this I am facing a big battery issue. My battery is draining very fast. Before my battery used to work for about 2 days, but now after changing to 4.4 it only works for half a day or so.
Please provide a solution to this.
Also, is it possible to downgrade to old jelly bean version? Do guide me please.

How did you get to 4.4(OTA or Flash Tool)?Maybe the OS didn't install correctly.
Have you tried a factory reset?
Yes you can downgrade to 4.2,I can instruct you based on your current OS version.... but first try a factory reset.

Macbook air 2012 usb issues

I am having having trouble getting the Macbook to detect my Microsoft keyboard (connected using a PS2 to USB cable). Some of the issues I see are
1. Keyboard does not work when plugged into the left or the right USB connector, when computer is running. USB mouse seems to be fine.
2. Macbook hangs (at grey screen on startup) when keyboard is plugged into the left USB connector and computer is rebooted.
3. Keyboard works fine if notebook is restarted with USB plugged onto the right side. However it will not work again if I unplug it and plug it back again.
4. I tried connecting a Nikon camera at home, and that is not detected either.
Can someone suggest any possible fixes for these problems?

MacBook Pro runs very slow after upgrade to Yosemite? Why did you turn my Mac into a Windows computer?

I upgraded to Yosemite on my MacBook Pro (non-retina). Now the system is incredibly slow.
1) wake-up form sleep takes up to a minute
2) Various icons will not open or respond until I have clicked on it three or four times and get the spinning beach ball (Finder, Calendar, iTunes)
3) Using Outlook for Mac app - similar issue as 2 when trying to send mail, add attachments or do anything
I am very frustrated by this upgrade. Any recommendations for speeding the system back to Mountain Lion levels?

Macbook pro 2012 battery issue

i bought a 2012 macbook pro, non retnia display. The battery is losing charge while plugged in. running nothing save for chrome and quicksilver. has anyone else ran into this issue?

When your Macbook is fully charged and plugged in, the charger stops charging and your macbook battery will go down to 95% before the charger kicks in again. This is normal.

I am experiencing crazy sluggishness in my GSM iPhone 4 (2011 model) after recently upgradig to iOS 7.0.2 from 6.1.3. Phone's freezing every few seconds and when it does, you can't do any activitiy, keyboard will not respond, videos will freeze etc.
Top of it, the battery is drying up like nuts. It used to work for more than 24 hrs with same settings earlier, now hardly 7-8 hrs !!! ..... I turned off everything like background-app refresh, wireless, 3G, bunch of other things, infact not even keeping any apps running in background while not using, I immediately kill it as soon as I am done using it.
Am very badly stuck, biggest mistake of my life that I ugpraded to iOS 7
- Is anyone experiencing similar issues ?
- Is there any way I can go back to previous version ... is Apple still signing iOS 6.1.3 ? I don't have shsh blob backup of previous version.
Any thought is greatly appreciated.

Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

Also try a Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If no joy...
1) Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore

Battery issue after upgrading to Snow Leopard

I've just upgraded to Snow Leopard and my Macbook doesn't seem able to live a minute without the magsafe plugged in. Here's my battery status (it's in Italian but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to read it anyway... If you don't understand just ask :))

The way I read it...
1.) You've got 108 cycles on the battery
2.) Full charge capacity of 65,317mAh
So you've either got a defective battery or a depleted battery. It seems unlikely that the software suddenly change battery reporting information so dramatically. One thing you might wish to consider is booting up the machine from the Leopard discs and run System Profiler from within the installer. I'd be curious if it reports something different (though I don't suspect it will).

Battery issue after upgrade to iOS 5 on 3GS

After the upgrade battery level goes from 100% to 0% in 5hrs basically in standby. I have turned off push services, data connections, icloud...everything. iPhone still drains battery and gets quite hot. Any suggestions?

Macbook Air "No battery available" after replacement

Two month ago I spilled cup of tea on my MBA. I dried it for about 3-4 days and only then turned on, it was working absolutely fine, the only problem was that it didn't work without power cord. So I decided to bring it to Apple Store, but there were no appointments available on the next week. The problem was that in 10 days I had to go on holidays, so leaving the laptop for another month didn't seem like a good idea for me. That's why I brought it to 3rd party repairing service, they said that they'll clean it and replace damaged parts. In fact, there was nothing damaged inside the laptop but battery. They said that to get new battery delivered will take around 3 weeks, so I decided to get one from Amazon and replace it myself.
I bought exactly what I needed A1496 battery for MBA 1466. The whole process of replacement went petty quick, but when I turned on the macbook, I saw the X sign on the battery bar. I was a bit disappointed but decided to try with another MBA. My friend got MBA 1466 from 2012, which has the same battery but with lower voltage. Strangely enough new battery worked on that one. Then, I decided to try to put the battery from friend's MBA to mine, and it worked!
Ideally I'd like to put the new battery into my MBA. I already tired to drain and charge it completely (through friend's laptop). Also tried to reset SMC, didn't help as well.
Is there any possible solution to run the new battery on my MBA?

MacBook Pro Retina Audio issue after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Got my new MacBook Pro with Retina display just over a week ago now and was working brilliantly up until last night.
I upgraded to Mountain Lion via the App store as I already bought it for my other macs and didnt wish to wait to redeem my free copy.
Ever since the update the audio develops a stutter on any audio file no matter what format, program used or at any volume.
I am hoping this is just a software isssue and can be easily rectified. I have restarted it, tried a different user and pretty much anything else I could think of before posting this.
Any help would be greatly recieved.

Using gfxCardStatus to force discrete graphics stops the audio stutter on my machine. I already returned one retina mbp for three dead pixels... Strange that graphics switching has something to do with the audio, especially since it was stuttering every 15 seconds or so, not when the nvidia kicked in...
