Macbook air broken sereen

Ok so my sister stepped on my air and the screen quit working.Its broke.And now it will now power on.I have not replaced the sereen yet but it want turn on.Any help?

would the sereen being busted cause the computer to not come on? anyone? I took the back off and reset the battery and nothing.

Are you concerned about environmentally friendly recycling, or are you concerned about assuring some sensitive data on your disks does not end up in the wrong hands?
If the former, then follow FoxFifth's suggestion.
If the latter, then check your local area for disk overhaulers (or a similar appropriate adjective). Be prepared to pay some non-trivial fee for them to work on cleaning your disk.

MacBook Air hinges broken

Anyone have any suggestions on repairing the broken hinges on a MacBook Air? The cheap plastic hinges on mine have broken and the monitor is about to fall off. Does anyone know why this obvious design flaw is not being covered under a warranty and have any suggestions of what to do? Everything else about the computer runs great so I don't need or want to buy a new computer because of a design flaw. Thanks for your help.

Ask Apple why it isn't covered. We as fellow users can not give you a definitive answer.

Macbook Air Logicboard broken

Hello,
the LogicBoard of my now exactly 2 year old Macbook Air is broken. I checked it at an Apple Reseller store. They offered me a repair for 540 EUR.
I have bought an Apple MacBook because I thought the products are of a good quality. I have never had such a problem with my former PC´s.
Is this a common problem with this series? Does anyone had the same problem?
Is there a chance that the repair get´s carried out at Apple´s expense?

Macbook air hinge broken

Hi all, the right hand side hinge of my 2.5 year old macbook air has broken into pieces, and cracked and broken pieces of plastic off the grey plastic tubular hinge interconnecting piece. Does anyone know if this is covered by any kind of warranty for faulty parts? the metal hinge has broken and the screen is literally hanging off, although the computer has suffered no abuse or any kind of hit, just normal and infrequent opening and closing!

If you go through it all (and it's very long) you'll see that covers over 2 years and more importantly has had mixed results from users. It looks like Apple is handling machines on a case-by-case basis.

Broken hinge on a Macbook Air - how to fix it?

Hi,
I have a Macbook Air which has worked perfectly all this time, but a few days back one of the hinges broke. The system still works fine, but opening the lid seems to strain the body structure. Upon opening the bottom cover, I noticed that a wire is running through the broken hinge, which seems to be getting strained when opening and closing. I'm presently in India and I took it to an authorized service store, but they said that it requires a screen replacement and I think they're just trying to "upgrade" the repair to a more expensive option!
Has anyone faced this problem before or can recommend what parts should actually be replaced? I don't want to do it myself, but I want to go into a better service center armed with details on what they have to do!

Relatively a cheap fix.

Macbook air motherboard broken

I have a Macbook air for 2 years and a half now. I have made good use of it and have used it very litte. Now the motherboard is broken and fixing it costs 400 euros!! I have seen in several internet forums that this problem has happened to more people too, also in 2 years and some months, with both Macbook Air and Macbook Pro. I am just writing to express my deep disappointment with Apple because when you buy one of its products you never think that something like this it will happen

I want to send back my macbook air back to apple store. The problem is that I bought it from US and now, I'm using it in Myanmar. If the program is free of charge for my device, it's worth trying to send back to US. Since mine is broken, I'm afraid Apple will take charges for reparing.

Still take it to an Apple store genius bar so you can get feedback on what it will cost for repair.
You can also see if you can find an Apple Authorized Service Provider and get a price from them, their work is accepted by Apple.
You can check iFixit.com and see if they have the hinge and price so you have another price for comparison.

Apple has/had a program in place for the hinge issue on the 1st (and I believe 2nd) generation MacBook Air. Even if the machine is currently out of warranty. I'm a bit foggy on the specifics as it was never itemized with the normal repair extension programs - http://www.apple.com/support/exchange_repair/
Your best bet is to contact AppleCare and inquire for more specifics.

Macbook Air recall on broken hinges

I have the very early version of Macbook Air the one with the flip comparment that expose the usb. Now the problem I have is that after using the device for a few months a crack appear on the right side of the devices. I was **** because i know the price apple might want for repair. After research i heard that it had been recall for faulty design, and apple would fix the problem free of cost. I just wanted to know if they are still doing this service.

If it is the hinge that is cracking below the display then it is likely the hinge cracking issue.
There is a support article that discusses this, it might be worth having a look on the support site.
It also explains that it is covered for three years from original date of purchase, so it is likely that your MacBook air might not be covered for this service.
The repair extension program would almost be ready to expire by now.
