Hi ..
Quit Safari.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Click Go
Move the Adobe PDF browser plugin to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari to test.

If a Finder window opens with that item selected, delete it, then quit and relaunch Safari. Otherwise post again.

    Hi,
Which web browser are you using to view the PDF? Safari 5.1.8
When you open the PDF in Adobe Reader add-in you will either see a floating toolbar
    http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-5224223-317859/430-90/floating +toolbar.JPG
    or a normal toolbar
    http://forums.adobe.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-5224223-317860/450-11/normalto olbar.JPG
both the toolbars have save button, use the button to save the file locally. I do not see these toolbars. I do, however see this
    and it works! Thanks
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins

-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE any Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
    -> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Zoom -> click "Reset"
-> go to View Menu -> Page Style -> select "Basic Page Style"
-> go Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''''Time range to clear: select EVERYTHING''''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on ALL Options -> click "Clear Now"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> '''''When Firefox starts : select "Show My Home Page"''''' -> Type the address of the website which you want to be your HomePage e.g. http:www.google.com -> click OK
You can enable the Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

i keep getting an error when trying to download pdf files to word in emails

    Hi Rochelle02,
You have an active Adobe PDF Pack subscription, which allows you to convert PDF files to Word format. To convert your files you log in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf with your Adobe ID and password.
Are you trying to send files using Adobe Send? I don't see that you have an account for that.
If you're trying to email from another, non-Adobe application, and are unable to, you would need to contact the manufacturer of your email client.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Cannot download .pdf files on Lion

Whenever I try and download a .pdf file on Safari, the screen shows the Quicktime logo while it downloads.  Once it is done I have the 1st page only.  I cannot save it, only view it.  It doesn't matter which site, even the Apple site, it is all the same.  This didn't happen prior to installing Lion.  My Adobe reader is up to date, as well Safari and Lion
