MacBook Air cracked screen problem

Hi I live in Saudi Arabia and I was using my MacBook Air  (on a camping char) then I stud up it and then it's fell from the char on the iPhone 5 on top of it so it got like a crack and it's all like liquid ... So I took it In a place because there is no apple store in my country so it was with him a month I got it from him he gave it to me no nails and the cover is not there there was a lot of problems  but he replaced the screen it was all black .short story there is a lot more .. Can anyone help ??
Thank you .

In looking at the Apple stores world wide I see that the nearest country where you are is the United Arab Emirates.  You would have to contact them to see if they can sell you a Macbook Pro and if they will ship it to you.  Perhaps you might have to travel there to purchase it.  I'm sorry but I simply do not know what details may be involved here.

It is very common knowledge and very clearly stated in the AppleCare agreement that AppleCare does not cover damage from accidents, but only manufacturing defects.

  • Macbook air cracked screen

I am so frustrated. I have been an Apple customer for ages. Ths is my 5th Apple laptop.  I was reluctant to purchase the MacBook Air because it looked too flimsey.  I and only I use this computer.  I shut it down and when I went back to it, I noticed a crack in the lower left hand side.  I did absolutely NOTHING to it nor do I use pens/pencils or any other objects when I use it.  Apple refused to cover this. I have only had it for a few months.  I am very disappointed in this computer and Apple.  I feel this computer is defected.  Anyone else have this problem?

I have the same issue. Closed the Macbook Air, opened it about an hour later and a tiny crack appeared underneath the screen. At first I thought it was a speck of dust, but it wasn't. The crack keeps groing by itself. Apple's support has been terrible, as every single reply has doubted my version of the story. They've said something might have gotten caught underneath the screen when I closed it, something might have dropped on it, or that I've opened the Air by one of its corners.
Even more interestingly, they indicate it is very hard to tell what happened by the photos (mailed by Applecare to engineers), yet do not ask for the screen to be send after repair to judge for themselves.
I do have an insurance, but hate to use it as this is not a case of maltreatment or an accident. And Apple, please tell me why I would even try to claim guarantee if I am insured?
    Conclusion, very bad customer service.

  • Whenever I plugged in HP laserjet M1132 printer usb to my Macbook air,a screen pop-out "the disk inserted are not readable by this computer".I uninstalled

Hi,I'm new here and I think my problem were discussed few times before. However,I tried to follow the solutions similiar to my condition but it does not work.My problem is whenever I plugged in the HP printer (Laserjet M1132 MFP) usb to my Macbook Air,a screen will pop-out and read as 'the disk inserted is not readable by this computer'.I even bought my Mac to the Mac store but the situation remains the same.Okay with other printer but not with my HP.Sigh.The HP printer worked just fine with other computers (not Mac).I'm really sick of it.Please help me.I once plugged in an external hard drive & started Time Machine with it.The printer problem started after that. However, the hard drive plug-in works just fine.
Your attention of above matter is highly appreciated.Thank you.

Here is what worked for me:
I reset the System Management Controller on my MBA.  To do so requires shutting it down, keeping it plugged in to power (I also unplugged both USB connections), and then from a powered off state I simultaneously pressed Shift + Ctl + Option + Power (I did this once and it did not work so I tried again and did it 3 times just to be safe), then released them at once, then I pressed the power button.  Problem solved.

I also tried uninstalling the using the repair Disk Permissions with Disk Utility and moved the HP Printer software accessories to the trash (you can search the web for how to do that but that did not solve the problem either).  Neither of these options worked.

    Hey iWeb plubishing problems,
I would first check to make sure that you meet the system requirements for OS X to support Documents in the Cloud. For that your Mac’s needs to be running at least OS X Lion 10.7.5 or later to make sure that everything syncs. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Next time you want to put your iMac screen to sleep, try switching off the Magic Mouse, wait for the notification to come up on the screen telling you the Magic Mouse has been disconnected, wait for it to disappear then press the keyboard shortcut to put the screen to sleep. See if that helps and we'll go from there. If that doesn't help, can you just say wether the screen always turns back on the same time every time?
    Hope that helps

  • Macbook air Shut down problem

    Hi everyone,
I used to have the shut down problem with my Macbook air. I have an 11" Later 2011 Macbook air.
The problem did not go away after updating to Mountain lion.
I just realized that although I was closing all programs, I was not ejecting my 3G modem/dongle.
Once I ejected it before commanding it to shut down, it did shut down properly.
I thought I should share it with you. May be there is a program that has not been closed or a devise that has not been unplugged/ejected properly and is restricting the shut down.
It worked for me. Hope it will work for you.
    Enjoy your Mac.
    J.

        Reset SMC.     http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
        Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, you may have to take the computer to the Apple store
to have the battery checked out.

  • First time I planned to buy a ipad Air. After seeing ipad Air having screen problems, dropped my plan. Planning to go for samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition.

First time in my life, I planned to buy a ipad Air. After seeing ipad Air having screen problems in the community, dropped my plan. Shall I go for for samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition otherwise wait for ipad Air 2.

For every iPad Air with screen problems there's a million that work fine.. If you buy at the Apple Store take a good long look and hand it back if it's not right.

  • My macbook air's screen flashes.

my macbook air's screen flashes when I restart it or sometimes when I am using it, and I cannot read those words because it is so fast, could it be something serious?

This is kind of a wild guess..  Check System Preferences > Universal Access > Hearing tab > uncheck "Flash the screen when an alert sound occurs".

  • Macbook Air 13" Screen Crack - Will it break the computer?

Just yesterday I noticed a small crack in the left bottom corner of my Macbook Air 13" (2011). In the last day it has already started to get a bit worse with a small crack that extends a couple vertical and horizontal lines a couple of inches.
My question is, I am about to travel for several months and don't really have time to get it fixed. Can the crack in the screen cause the laptop itself to malfunction? Even if it gets worse, as long as I can still use it I can be patient, but I don't want it to die on me while I am travelling!!!

The damage is likely to remain confined to the display, but the display itself will likely worsen. It could range from just a longer crack, to overall failure of the display.  I've not heard of a cracked display "causing" collateral damage.

  • Macbook air 13 screen flicker

I have a problem with my 2 week old 13inch i7 macbook air. When the the screen powers down and I press a button to wake the computer the screen flickers black and grey and requires me to close the screen to get rid of it. It now flickers constantly - only slightly but it's very annoying. Any ideas? This is my first apple computer and it has been great till now.

Found another forum with the same problem: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1560774, including another youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaGOKuwqsaw. The severity of the problem in this link looks worse than my problem. Mine is less severe than what's in this video, but more severe that what's in the first youtube link I provided.
The posts in that forum claim: 1) the problem began after upgrading to a newer OS, 2) it occurs after waking from sleep, and 3) that closing the lid for 10 seconds is a work-around fix.
Would be great if Apple fixes this. I won't buy another Mac, desktop or laptop, if they don't. Macs are too expensive to only get 2 years from, and in my opinion thay are not that much better than other options. I'm going to post a bug report on Apple's web site.

  • MacBook Air blank screen, no start-up and three beeps - but now fixed?

Hi - My MacBook Air 2011 11in 64GB wouldn't start up for the last three days. It was working fine, then the screen went bonkers and I turned it off by holding down the power button. When I hit the power button again, there was no start-up, the screen stayed black and there were three beeps, short delay, three beeps again. I Googled and it seemed that it was a RAM problem, so I was planning this morning to take the machine to Dr Apple. But just to be sure there was still a problem, I tried starting it one last time and it started up as normal and seems to be working fine now.
Should I still get it checked out? I had been travelling and using it in some pretty hot temperatures when it died, and it's now back at home where it's cooler - could the problem have been something to do with the heat, do you think?
Don't want to use it if I'm making a problem that's there any worse. Much appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Before taking it, run Apple Hardware Test. If your Mac came with an USB drive, insert it and press D key while your Mac is starting. Then, run an extended test and check if it shows a problem.
If your Mac didn't come with an USB drive, press Option and D keys while your Mac is starting and run an extended test. If you see an error message, copy it here

  • MacBook Air Display connection problem

Hi,I recently got a MacBook Air (late 2010) used 9my dad gave it to me ).
When I shut the computer's display it sometimes doesn't illuminate when I wake it I tried entering the password even though I can't see.
And then i can vaguely make out my desktop or the apps.I recently discovered that by moving the whole computer it would illuminarte again i'm thinking that there is a loose connection between the screen and the motherboard.
I'M RUNNING OSX 10.7.2 AND EVERYTHING IS UP TO DATE I'M VERY PICKY ABOUT THAT IF MORE INFO IS NEEDED JUST ASK.
    I would appreciate any response,
    -Georges

  • Macbook air headphone jack problem

I have a macbook air. Speakers are working fine, but computer is not recognizing headphones. They do not show up on the sound output menu in settings when i plug them into the jack, and the main speakers continue to play sound as if there were no headphones. Help!

I have the same problem, but this trick seems to solve it: I open the preference for Sound. If you are connected to a screen it will say 'internal speakers' and 'display audio'.  In my case, display audio was selected. I clicked on internal speakers, then back to display audio. i plugged in the earphoens. the internal speakers became 'headphones' after a couple of seconds and the speakers off, except for the earphones.

  • Macbook air 2012 Shutdown problem!!

Hi all! I have a problem with my Macbook air 2012. OS 10.9.5.
This morning my sound were not working so i rebooted my machine. And here the problems start. My macbook now goes into sleep mode after 5 Seconds! And when it does so, i have to unplug/plug magsafe to get it back on. Then another 5 seconds before it shuts down again. I have tried SMC and PRAM resets. I am not able to do a erase+reinstall because the Internett is lost every 5 seconds due to the black screen. However when i pressed OPTION+ON button to get into the reboot menu the screen didnt shut down. Until I clicked on Recovery, then it started again.  So, has anyone had the same problem? Any solutions? Is there a connection to the no-working sound? Help is extremely appriciated!  :-)
I can still charge my phone while the screen goes black, if thats helpful for you guys.

It will be longer for the first shutdown, but should be faster thereafter. But then how much longer is it? I have a couple systems where it takes at least 15 seconds to shutdown.
