MacBook Air .. Fan CPU and youtube test @ Apple Store...
Folks,
Just spend 3 hours at Apple Store in London.
Speak to genius and start investigating the MBA..
We Open 5 Safari explorer tabs and on each tab you tube is running.
turn on the itunes playing movie in there in itunes.
surfing internet same time.. and leave it running for test 15 min
No core shutdown, well mba get hot but not burning hot and they advised its aluminum case and should feel hot ..so MBP as well.
fan rpm goes to 6200 and CPU temp goes to btw 60 to 78 Degree 'C'
remember 5 you tube video's running and itunes is playing movie and surfing internet
so hammering the MBA...
I said well can we do same test on MACBOOK PRO..
did and guess wat same results and CPU went up to 85 degree 'C' using i stat.
I was also offerd a new MBA at store replacement if i am not happy with mine.. but i decided not too.. coz after that test i feel my MBA is okay no core shutdown and nothing major sign for crash or anything.
if i replace i might get dodgy one.. never know..
so
I got back home running everything and no prob at so far..
Oh yes they rest something on my laptop by restart the MBA and press power button option and shift key together i dont know what that does but it does reset something after install the SDU or SUD driver or something.
so currently working on it and if anything goes wrong i got warranty so take it back any time
so guys just use as wish you like and stop worrying.
MBA is the best notebook out there and might have couple of issues but hey apple is good to hear from customers. so Enjoy

In earlier years you can go th an Apple Store, buy a Macbook Pro and ask for a replacement to a other type of keyboard. I do this 2-3 times in the last years for german keyboards. If you done this on the same day you bought the macbook, the replacement happened without charge anything. It was a great service.
Yesterday i go back to the same store like before and both - the sales representative and the guys an the GeniusBar told me - that this is not offered by Apple anymore. Because the US Apple Online Store do not offer other Keyboards the US-based keyboards and the German Apple Online Store do not deliver to other countries the final conglusion from the Apple Stuff was:

I see here in the Support community a lot of questions about norwegian, german and other kind of keyboards they want to buy in the US. Their is obviously a need for this. And from the logistic standpoint, it should be easy for Apple to offer that in the Online Stores itself.
For me the conglusaion is: I stay with my old Macbook Pro and hope i need no replacement within the next years. To order it in germany, ship it to a friend, pay taxes twice (in germany and vur customers) plus shipment, make it to expensive (bottonline: 600-800$ more than buy it in the US) make no sense to me. -
Could I have been sold an older model? (And yes, it was in its original packaging.) At the time, I was told that it was because I bought a maxxed-out unit, and that those tend to "sit on the shelf" longer than the less expensive units. I'd appreciate any advice.

How do I change the Apple ID that is stored on my MacBook Air. I have changed my Apple ID on the Apple ID website but both my MacBook Air and my iMac show the old Apple ID when accessing iCloud.
I had this problem on my iMac and fixed it after a half hour of frustrated trying. I had changed my Apple ID on my iPad mini while traveling. When I finally got back home after a few months, I couldn't log in to iTunes on my iMac. The old Apple ID was still being used on my iMac. I tried just highlighting it and deleting it and typing in my new Apple ID. No dice. The login just defaulted to my old Apple ID. I tried clicking on the drop down menu that appears when you right right click your Apple ID that appears at the top of the page after highlighting the 'iTunes Store" in the left side list. I saw "account" so I clicked on that. The "account" settings on my iMac showed my new Apple ID but my iMac wouldn't use it. It just kept defaulting to my old ID. I shut down. I logged back in. Same result. Finally I right clicked the same drop down menu and saw "sign out" at the bottom of the list. Even though I was not signed in to iTunes, I clicked "sign out". My next log in to iTunes showed my Apple ID as blank and I was able to type in my new ID. Hope this helps.
I am a long time 20 year Microsoft user. I am somewhat ( 1 year) new to Apple. With Microsoft, I found that fixing problems was clunky and complex, but there was always a post somewhere that explained the fix. Microsoft's explanations stated even the most obvious fact. Even if everyone knew that the sky was blue, Microsoft's instructions would still tell you that the sky was blue. With Apple, I find that the obvious is sometimes not so obvious. But the fix is almost always easy once you find it, without many of the elaborate maneuvers needed in Windows. -

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Log out and log back in. Any change?
Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
Again, if only Safari is involved, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Safari, if it's checked. Any change?
Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference? -
How much does it cost to replace a Macbook Air keyboard? And what components does the replacement include?
I had two fans replaced in 2012 on my 2006 MacBook Pro were around £10 each with labor at £20. I don't know that these prices are still viable, but it may give you an estimate.

I bought my macbook pro on August 2011 at an apple store, with the Intel i7. However mirrorring in not working with two of my Apple TVs. These Apple TVs are 2nd and 3rd generation loaded with the latest software. I can succesfully transmit from my itunes on my Macbook pro to both Apple TVs, but I can not see the airplay icon on the taskbar. Can someone help?

I have a macbook air (mid 2012) and a thunderbolt display (27'').
Do I absolutely need to connect the power supply together with the thunderbolt cable ?
I found that the screen won't wake up if only the thunderbolt connection is plugged. Is this normal ?I just got my ATD and late 2011 MBP up and running. I've not tried running without the power adapter from the ATD plugged in, but I just tried and didn't have any problems with the display not waking. You may want to take your query to the ATD forum - https://discussions.apple.com/community/peripherals/thunderbolt_display - perhaps someone there has experienced a similar issue.

I have a new MacBook Air 11'inch and I presume that it should come with the iLife programs. However, when I signed into the appstore with my account I have used with all of my Mac products, it now said I had to purchase each program, like iPhoto, iMovie, ect. seperate. I have already logged in and out of my account and called the "free" part of tech support. How can I reslove this issue?

As you see their price at the Mac App Store, it's clear that there's a problem with your MacBook. Simply return it if you purchased it less than 14 days ago and you will receive a new MacBook
