  • Is it okay to charge macbook air while playing a game and it is hot?

I use my macbook air for aging. Is it okay to charge it while I'm playing a game. It was really hot when I was charging it. Will it affect it any?

It is all right to charge your MBA any time you are using it, hot or not. See these authoritative article regarding Apple batteries for additional guidance:

    Ciao.

  • Like an idiot, i bought a game for an ipad and only have a macbook air. can i somehow get the game to play on my air? or have i just thrown $5.29 out of the window?!?

I recently bought a game for an "ipad", (thru itunes), when I only have a MacBook Air...I had seen where you could switch apps back and forth between devices, ad I thought I could do this. Is there a way to play the game on my Air laptop? Or did I just throw $5.29 out of the window? One more thing...it involved Facebook, and I don't belong...or want to belong!?
I want to play Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, etc. ON MY MACBOOK AIR!?!???

No way to play an iOS game on a Mac presently.
I suspect if you contacted Apple's Customer Support and explained the situation they would refund or credit your account.

  • Letter keys are not working on MacBook Air when playing games?

Hello. I'm using 10.6.6 on my MacBook Air 2.1 (2009 model).
I've got a really strange issue when playing games (any game produces this issue). ONLY the letter keys aren't working. The rest is working - numbers, function keys, arrows, tab, enter, delete, etc. Only the keys A to Z are not working.
This happens both on native games (like Hedgewars from App Store) and ported ones (like Need for speed).
    What's the issue?
    Thank you!

    Bump.

  • What games from the app store can i buy & play on 13" macbook air???

Hey i just got a new 6/2012 macbook air and love it.
just wanted to get some games for it.
and ive gone to the app store, but alot of the good games require certain graphics cards etc...
can anyone tell me what games i can download and play?? as its not very clear.. all it says on spec is intel 4000.
which i know is the new chip/cpu etc..
im keen on playing games like jedi outcast 2/knights of the old rep. sims. etc...

Don't play any games on your MacBook Air.  Use that for your seriuos endevors and just purchase a cheap Windows Samsung or Dell for $500 bucks and use that.  Or pick up that Google crap Adroid with a new OS every week for $150 bucks and use that.
But keep your MacBook Air free from any garbage.

  • Fans Going Mad in MacBook Air when Playing Game

The fans in my 2013 11" MacBook Air start to go crazy when I start a game I downloaded from the Mac App Store. Is it bad for the computer for this to happen and is there anything I can do to stop it?
    Thanks

It is normal. Games need that your CPU and GPU work harder, and those are the parts that generate more heat, so it is normal that fans turn on to cool down your MacBook.
However, it is not good to let your Mac work with high fan speeds for a long time, but it is even worse if they do not work. In both cases, your MacBook Air may get damaged. In conclusion, I do not recommend you to play for a long time, or you can get a cooling pad

  • Is the i7 13" Macbook Air capable of playing some basic games?

I'm looking into possibly grabbing a 13" Macbook Air with the i7 1.7Ghz processort and was wondering if it's capable of playing some basic games that are out in the Mac App Store such as Angry Birds, N.O.V.A. 2, or even Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? Also I tend to use Vuze and sometimes Handbrake, would the high end 13" Macbbok Air be capable of doing all this for me?

Capable? Yes indeed it is. However, if the game or application is CPU or GPU intensive, then you can expect longer waits for completion of tasks. It's not so much noticeable on rudimentary games, but it really has an effect on detailed fluid motion in games that rely on such.
Handbrake tasks will just take longer to complete, it won't stop it.
I use my MBA's for medium intensity gaming without any complaints. But really, you should refer to the system requirements on each, on a case by case basis.

  • For a Macbook Air will I need to buy a mac mini to run additional programs like photoshop and games

As a graphic design student I wanted to own a laptop that was capable of running Adobe programs and games, but I bought a 2014 Macbook Air; 128GB of storage, 4GB of memory, and runs at 1.4 Ghz. With this information will I still be able to run programs with no problem or will I need to buy a Mac Mini to run all the programs and games that'll be too much for my Air.

Your MacBook Air has turbo boost up to 2.7GHz >  http://store.apple.com/us/buy-mac/macbook-air?product=MD711LL/B&step=config
Check Adobe's website for minimum requirements for the apps and games you want to use.
Turbo boost is a technology integrated into Intel processors that temporarily increases the speed of the processor when needed.

i want to buy macbook air 13, can i use designing software like AUTOCAD, solidworks, and some heavy games, like Maxpayne 3 and Some more in AIR 13??

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Read the system requirements for the programs you listed. Match them against the specifications of the machine you propose to buy. The more RAM the better, your hard drive size requirements and video card specicications may require the upgraded, not base, model or may eliminate the MBA as a platform.

  • Games from windows to macbook air

I have got games like most wanted2,Run and san andreas on my windows 7 laptop. How to transfer them from windows laptop to macbook air????

software designed for windows cannot be run on Mac OSx.  Each operating system needs software specifically written for it.
While there may be versions of those games made for OSx, you cannot transfer the Windows versions over. You will very likely have to buy the Mac versions of the games if they exist.

  • Hello i buy  a new macbook air white i5 ivy bridge processor and when i play a game the cpu themperature is 88-100 c its normal?

Hello i buy  a new macbook air white i5 ivy bridge processor and when i play a game the cpu themperature is 88-100c it is normal?

One thing I should add. While "normal", it doesn't make it preferrrable that you should be always running near the maximum capability of the unit. The new 2012 MBA's are outfitted with CPU's that have a maximum running temp of 115 degrees C. (the 2011's were rated at 100 degrees C.)
At, or near this point, the CPU will shut down the system to safeguard from overheating. Right under this point the system's fan will be running at top speed. Any mechanical device, run at or near it's capability will undergo accelerated wear. Just how much in this situation is unknown. as such, I don't use my MBA as a full-time gaming rig. I try and keep it sensible.
The MBA is not really designed for gaming, but it's competent performance sometimes lures us to use it as such.

  • Can my MacBook Air play graphic-intensive games?

So i'm getting MacBook Air in 2 months, and i was wondering. Can my MacBook Air play some graphic intensive games? I'm thinking of playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn or maybe XCOM and other games, Will i suffer occasional lag? Will the MacBook overheat? I opted for the 13-inch, Dual-core intel i5, 4GB RAM, intel HD 5000 Graphics and 128GB of storage. I'm planning to use this MacBook as my Daily Driver for computing, and that includes gaming. Any advice would help me greatly, thank you.

And eGPU is an external graphics card.
By the way a graphics card is the part of a computer that figures out how to display something on a screen. For example, if your character throws a ball, the graphics card figures out how fast the ball should move and how to display it. Your MacBook Air doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, it just has a processor which is capable of functioning as a modest graphics card.
The fourth generation Vidock is an external graphics card enclosure. It allows you to connect a desktop graphics card such as  GT 640, GTX 650 or Radeon 7970 graphics cards. The 4th generation Vidock will connect to your Mac through Thunderbolt.
No, I don't have a link where you can pre-order. So far, they don't have pre-ordering. They haven't released it yet, but they'll release it sometime in the summer. They haven't even got much information about it on the Villagetronic website. But here's a link so you can check it out: http://www.villagetronic.com/g4/product-lines
There are a bunch of them, but I'm not sure which one is the one with Thunderbolt and will cost $100. I guess we'll all have to wait until they release it this summer.
