Macbook air lost connection to wireless HP Desktop 3050 J10

My macbook air lost connection to wireless HP Desktop 3050 J10 printer.  Also, my other laptop (using Windows Vista) lost the connection,  The Home PC, however, is working fine.  Suggestions to fix?  Thank you.

Sorry to hear about your issue. Try working through the document I linked below and see if it resolves the issue.
Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection
If this does not resolve the issue post back and include some more information about your wireless setup. Items like brand of router and type of encryption you are using would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • HT4199 trying to connect my MacBook Air to my existing wireless printer

I am trying to connect my newly purchased MacBook Air to my existing wireless printer, a Canon MP560.  When I go to printer preferences and try to "add" a printer I'm not allowed to type anything at all in that window.  What am I doing wrong?  Thanks!

Does the printer appear in the window so you can select it?

How to turn off screen on Macbook Air when connected to Led monitor screen?

The only way you can turn it off is to close the lid - so you would need an external wired or wireless keyboard and mouse/trackpad attached.

  • MacBook Air never connects directly to WiFi.

MacBook Air never connects directly to preferred or any other networks but WiFi will have to be switched off and back on to connect. What to do? Any known bugs or resolution? Running OSX 10.9.3 with latest updates on MacBook Air from mid 2013, i5.

  • My Macbook Air will not print wirelessly!

My Macbook Air will not print wirelessly using the connection between it and my iMac which is connected via USB to my Canon Printer. The iMac and the Air are both using the same network and the printer is found on the Air... it sits at idle, but when I press "Print" on my Air it never actually prints. There is just a flash of the print icon on the Dock and then it is gone... I am left with no reason or error message. My colleagues are able to print wirelessly with no issue using their Macbook Pro and the same connected iMac. Can anyone help with this?

    Hi JDP86,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If your printer is wireless-capable, you should first add the printer to your network. Use the printer's control panel, or temporarily connect the printer to your Mac via USB.

My MacBook Air lost mac os x. So I would like to reinstall mac os. But I can't select the disk to install mac os x. Only Recovery HD is shown and I can't select it. How can I reinstall my Mac os x? Thank you!

you can download the mac os x recovery hd and run the setup to a flash drive using another mac computer running os x 10.7,(so that while installation the os x setup can varify your computer's serial no. and provide you the installation setup through internet)
or the time machine backup(if you have)
Now boot through the flash drive and follow the steps to install mac os x

  • I have a BTHub4 - My iMac, iPhone, and children's iPads all connect to the internet no problem. I cannot get my 2 MacBook Pros or my partners MacBook Air to connect. Have tried diagnostics - says to change DNS but  it is correct.

I have a BTHub4 - My iMac, iPhone, and children's iPads all connect to the internet no problem. I cannot get my 2 MacBook Pros or my partners MacBook Air to connect. Have tried diagnostics - says to change DNS but  it is correct. I have re-set both router and all laptops - no joy. They can all see the network but cannot connect.

This is extraordinary. I have moved the router and also tried resetting it to its factory strings.  We have had this router for over a year and all our devices have always worked. Now all four laptops will not connect to the internet. Only one oMac and our phones and iPad.
I have had far more devices running at once before but now all laptops are timing out on connection. Some say this iIP address is already being used but if I manually set to a slightly different IP address it does not help, noir if I manually set to the correct IP address. Why would all our laptops (four) suddenly be unable to connect?

  • Macbook air hdmi connection problem

I cannot get my macbook air to connect to my tv via an hdmi cable. I suspected my cable until my neighbor had the same issue. Have others experienced this and is there a solution?

I have had this same problem. Has the wifi worked before? What I did was I turned my wifi off, then I restarted my computer, then I turned my wifi back on. If that doesnt work, leave the wifi off, and shut it down for a while. Hope I could help!

  • Macbook Air wont connect to HDTV

I use a MiniDisplay to VGA connector when I use my macbook air to connect to a monitor. My macbook is detecting its there, is there a certain setting on a TV that I would need to switch

That depends on the TV. You'll have to research its instruction manual.

  • Macbook Air loses connectivity every time it sleeps.

For about a month now my Macbook Air loses connectivity to wifi whenever it goes to sleep. I have it connected to my personal wifi and when I leave the MBA idle it goes to sleep after 15 mins. When I wake the computer it is still connected to my wifi, but the connectivity is gone. I have to turn airport off and then turn it back on. It regains connectivity immediately after that every time. However, it obviously shouldn't do that and it is annoying because it interrupts my downloads. I have tried playing around with the settings and reading the discussion boards. While people have had similar issues, none have been exactly the same and none of the troubleshooting has worked. Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions or fixes for this. Thanks in advance!

    Hello BrettG81,
I know that can be frustrating when your MacBook Air does not maintain a Wi-Fi connection. There are a few things that you can try to get it working again. I know you have done some looking at your settings and possibly some adjustments, but go over the first article as some of the troubleshooting for OS X Snow Leopard and Lion can be helpful. Another troubleshooting option is to create a new network location and test it out to see if you still have the same issue. All the steps are linked below.

  • My MacBook Air won't hold wireless connection at home

I have a MacBook Air running OS 10.8.4. and Belkin Surf router.  When I am home the Air is only able to connect wirelessly through my router for a couple of minutes.  I might get one or two sites to load and then no more data is transferred. The network symbol and information I get when clicking on it says it is connected to my network but still no data transfer.  If I rebook the computer I can then get the same few seconds of data transfer.   I have tried connecting it wirelessly to other networks away from my home with no problem, just my home network has an issue.  All of my other devices, Mac desktop, Windows desktop, two iPhones and two iPads, connect to my home network with no problem.  Only my Air has trouble.
    Any thoughts?

Your profile indicates your Air has v10.8.2 installed.
If that is correct, updating to v10.8.4 may help the Wi-Fi issue.
Click Software Update from your Apple  or open System Preferences > Software Update and click Check Now.
Make sure to restart your Mac after updating.
If OS X is actually up to date, open System Preferences > Network > Assist Me then click Diagnostics.
    Select Wi-Fi on the right.
If any of the buttons are red, click Continue. That may help to narrow down the connection problem.

  • Macbook air occasion connection lost

My macbook air (early 2014, OS X 10.9.4) occasionally stops loading in browser while the wifi connection is pretty good. All my other divice work properly besides my macbook air.
I tried using different browser but all have the same problem.
I have googled this problem and some suggest checking the router.
Can anyone tell me how to solve the problem please?
