MacBook Air Messages Application and iPhone 6 Messages not synching

Hello,
I have an iPhone 6 and just purchased a MacBook Air (OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2)
I am having trouble getting the Messages Application on the MacBook Air synching with my iPhones messages. A few contacts don't show up on the Messages application on my computer and sometimes messages take time to come through.
This might be a separate issue but my Calendar is also taking time synching. This seems more of a delay issue.
Thank you for your time in advance!!!

  • Macbook Air (Mid-2013) and iPhone 5s IOS version 8.1 won't connect via bluetooth, anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have a Macbook Air running OS-X Yosemite and an iPhone 5s running IOS version 8.1. Every time I try to connect the devices via bluetooth is won't connect saying my Macbook Air isn't supported when in actuality it is. Anyone know how to fix this issue? I have restarted both my Mac/Iphone and have turned bluetooth on/off and nothing seems to help. Bluetooth pairing didn't work before I updated to IOS 8.1 so I doubt that is the issue here.

Pairing an iPhone to a computer (Mac or Windows) is only supported for personal hotspot (sharing the iPhone's cellular internet connection) and then only if your cellular plan supports it. More information: Bluetooth: Why can't I pair my iPhone or iPad with my computer?

  • Macbook Air - USB port and iPhone 4 Madness

Hi there, I have a brand new 2013 macbook air, love the weight and speed - but - I'm running still 10.8.5  and have the iphone 4,
plug into the usb ports and the iphone goes crazy with on / off charging and buzzing, i repeat that a few times and it calms down
has anyone had issues with older iphone 4 and the usb ports on the latest Macbook Air? I have the news itunes now installed also,
    but no help
thanks, its truly freaky, going to sit it out until 10.9.1 is out, as my girlfriends Macbook Air has now Mavericks and its acting up on the Mail app,
had to recreate all the accounts from scratch to avoid 100% cpu useage and battery drain, so avoid Mavericks for a bit

    Hello null.
I have OS Mavricks installed on my MBA 2013 and I have the same issue with my iPhone 4s. I noticed that when my iPhone is charged about 60% or 61% and above it connects normally without any issues, so the solution at the mean time is to charge it to that percentage and above and then connect it, Weird!

  • Pictures don't upload onto my macbook air from ipad and iphone via icloud

The pictures I take on Iphone and Ipad often just don't transfer to my macbook air via Icloud. Some do, some don't, its very
inconsistent - some just never upload.
Any ideas? I think that all the settings on all machines are correct..! :-)
    thanks,
    Russell

    Hi Russell,
I'm assuming you have iCloud activated on your Mac. Try signing out & then logging back in on your Mac. Are you using Photostream within iPhoto or Aperture...or both?

I can't help you with a direct answer.  For third-party devices you should contact the vendor (Vodafone).
If you have an iPhone (or an Android phone with hot-spot capability) you can use that to connect to the Internet without paying for a separate cellular service.

  • I have nothing on this macbook air just iPhoto and iTunes and the error startup dic full message keeps coming up and the storage is full of other i don't know what to do.

i have nothing on this macbook air just iPhoto and iTunes and the error startup dic full message keeps coming up and the storage is full of other i don't know what to do.how do i delete all of this?

First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight as described here. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can also use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • IPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 pr later for iTunes.

iPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 or later  for iTunes.  Mac iOS version 10.5.8 and iTunes on Mac is 10.6.1. iPad and iPhone version is 6.0(10A403). When I check for updates on the Mac book pro it says software versions are up to date.
When I check for iTunes version  10.6.3 it looks like it is for snow leopard operating system which I am not on. How to I get my devices to sync with computer. Everything worked prior to iOS 6 upgrade on remote devices.

    I'm having the same problem.
iPhone 4s won't sync with my Macbook Pro.
I iust updated the iPhone to iOS6 (thought it wasn't syncing before the update either).
Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.5.8
iTunes 10.6.3 (i.e. latest update - which hasn't had an issues apart from syncing).
I tried 3 different USB sync cables. Still not syncing.
Do I really have to update my Mac OS to 10.6.8 in order to sync my phone ? I thought as long as you have iTunes 10.6.3 you're ok...
Is there a way to update to Mac OS 10.6.8 (or later) without wiping the hard drive and doing a new install?..
    thanks

  • HT201628 I tried following the steps in this article. When I attempt to delete iTunes,  it says "iTunes" can't be modified or deleted because it's required by Mac OS X. What other steps could I take to get my MacBook Air to recognize my iphone again?

I tried following the steps in this article. When I attempt to delete iTunes,  it says “iTunes” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X. What other steps could I take to get my MacBook Air to recognize my iphone again? Neither iTunes nor iPhoto recognize my phone any longer.

iTunes can't be deleted because it comes with OS X. In order to delete it, open Terminal and copy:
    sudo rm /Applications/iTunes.app
This will remove iTunes, so then you can reinstall iTunes

  • I recently tried to remove widows7 on my macbook air using bootcamp and halfway through it grayed out .The windows 7 is removed but i cant free up the 62gig partition the windows was occupying on my 121gig ssd harddrive please help

i recently tried to remove widows7 on my macbook air using bootcamp and halfway through it grayed out .The windows 7 is removed but i cant free up the 62gig partition the windows was occupying on my 121gig ssd harddrive please help

You may have to see about using the Recovery HD partition to attempt to erase and restore useful function of the capacity lost to the former Windows installation.
And you may have to backup your contents outside the computer to do it. Disk Utility on the Mac OS X historically has not been able to touch a BootCamp created partition; so if BootCamp cannot remove it, then you have to see how to do the equivalent of a reformat of the entire drive (less Recovery partition?) then reinstall your OS X. Maybe from internet recovery, then get your applications, etc from the Mac App store, etc.
A complete system clone of your OS X on an external HDD would be another method to restore after reformat, of the portion you want whole again, not necessarily the space where Recovery may live.
    There may be (an)other way(s).
    Perhaps someone with recent experience
in this matter can reply & discuss options.
With my antiques, they almost know what I want before I tell them.
Hopefully yours will after you talk to it awhile.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Can't get new macbook air to connect to iPhone 3gs personal hotspot

I set up Personal Hotspot to connect my old MacBook Air to my ATT iPhone 3GS with no problem. (The 3GS connects via Bluetooth.)
Then I updated to the new MacBook Air, and now I'm out of luck. The phone and the MBA complete Bluetooth pairing, but that's as far as it goes--they can't connect beyond that. The iPhone never appears under the Bluetooth icon in the MBA's menu bar. Restarting does not cure it. If I touch "MacBook Air" under Bluetooth settings in the iPhone, I tries to connect but then asks me to make sure the MBA is within range. (It's a foot away.)
    Anybody?
    Thanks!

I had the weirdest thing happen. I've seen that link for the Bluetooth troubleshooting all over the forums, but could not for the life of me get my iPhone 3GS to share its Internet connection with my 2011 MBA. USB worked great, but no love for Bluetooth.
Deleted the pairing 5, 6 times, rebooted both phone and MBA several times, even deleted the Bluetooth preferences files.
In desperation, I tried pairing the phone with my 2006 iMac, and was able to get an Internet connection going. And lo and behold, the MBA pairing started to work too.
Sorry, I have no solution here, since I don't actually know what I did to make it work (if anything!) but that's what happened for me.

  • HT1338 why is my MacBook Air running slow and I bought the 11 inch with all memory and turbo boost

why is my MacBook Air running slow and I bought the 11 inch with all memory and turbo boost

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Log out and log back in. Any change?
Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
Again, if only Safari is involved, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Safari, if it's checked. Any change?
Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
