Macbook airport extreem and brother printer/scanner DCP-330C

I have macbook airport extreem and brother printer/scanner DCP-330C and everything works fine.
I can print wireless.
The only thing that irritates me is, when I start my macbook I first see a screen with MFL-ProSuite, I quit then a screen with connect with USB, I quit and then I see a small blue screen.
Is there a way to get rid of these things, so I can start directly with the things I want to do.
Thanks for the reply.
Frank

That is something that has to do with the brother software. Doesn't have anything to do with the airport base station.
I would try and Contact brother to see about disabling it.
What I think , is probably because the printer is on the airport not the computer so brothers software is getting confused.
See about deleting just the software and not the drivers. That is if you dont need the software.

  • AIRPORT EXTREME AND MULTIPLEX PRINTER SCANNER USE

I have a pc running win xp pro. I have a cannon pixma mp780. I would like to setup using all functions on the printer including the scanner. HELP!

Hello PAPPY2. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Unfortunately, the AirPort base station's USB port does not support the "advanced" features (scanning, copying, faxing, etc.) of multi-function printers. For the multi-function printers that are supported, they are only supported for printing.

  • I have a brother printer/scanner why does half way through scanning goes idle

I have a Brother printer/scanner. The printer is never a problem. Scanner on the other hand starts does a few pages and then goes idle. Why is it doing this?

Install the Image Capture scan driver here.
If you're planning to scan using the control panel of your printer, download the scan center here.

  • Do Airport Extreem and Time Capsule support connect restrictions?

I've looked over the manuals for Airport Extreem and Time Capsule and can't see if (or how) these devices support connect restrictions such as:
    1) Prevent certain devices from connecting (i.e. via MAC address)
    2) Allow/Prevent access at specific times of the day.
Do these devices provide these types of services?
    Thanks
    -Mike

    1) Prevent certain devices from connecting (i.e. via MAC address)
Yes, but only for wireless devices.
    2) Allow/Prevent access at specific times of the day.
Yes, but only for wireless devices. You can set up rules for each day of the week if you want. The example below shows Weekdays and Weekends

  • Airport extreme and HP printer over ethernet problem

I'm new here, so forgive me if this topic has been done to death. I'm running airport extreme and have an HP photosmart 2600 connected to it via ethernet. My wife has no trouble printing with her Macbook Pro (Snow Leopard), but my daughter's older iMac only prints very intermittantly and mostly not at all.I've tried all the sharing options and reinstalling/updating the HP software, but no luck. The printer is at the other end of the house from the Airport, so connecting via usb is not an option. Any assistance much appreciated, thanks.

Using Ethernet should give the best results, plus it allows the use of more than just the print function, which USB would not. Proof of that should be the fact that this older HP model (it works with OS 9!!!) works well with your recent Mac's Snow Leopard OS.
If the iMac has OS X 10.5.8, the correct printer driver should have already been installed and no further update would have been needed. All that should have been needed was to open the Print & Fax panel of System Preferences and add the HP printer as the iMac's default printer.
When the iMac was first unable to print using the HP, did you consider any chance that the iMac was too far from the Extreme, or that there might have been some interference involved? Did you power cycle starting with the modem? When power cycling is necessary, printers seem to throw off unexplainable errors (such as out of paper or ink, paper jam - when none of these is true).

  • Airport Extreme and USB Printer Problem

I have an Epson printer connected to the USB port of my Airport Extreme.  This has worked just fine for years.  But from today neither my iMac nor my MacBook Air can "see" the printer any more.  I have rebooted everything a couple of times, but still no joy.
I have connected the printer directly to a USB port on my iMac, and all is well, so I guess the problem is not with the printer.
The only thing significant done to my system in recent times is the latest security update, which I installed yesterday.
Can anybody give me a clue as to why this problem has suddenly raised its head after all these years?

  • Airport Extreme and Canon 5600F scanner

If I plug the Canon 5600F directly into the Macbook Pro it scans perfectly, but the Airport doesn't recognize the scanner when it is plugged in via a USB 2.0 hub. I set the scanner to share over the network. The scanner doesn't have an Ethernet port.
    What am I doing wrong?

Understand the hassle. But, you can't really put this one on Apple as they have no choice but to use the device drivers that other manufacturers supply to them.
At this point, as far as I am aware, there's not a single manufacturer that has written drivers to allow full functionality for all-in-one devices when connected to the USB port on the AirPorts.
Still, you might want to voice your opinion to Apple on this. There's no assurance that that they even read these boards and if enough users ask for a certain feature, perhaps they will incorporate it in the future.

  • Wireless Printing w/ Airport Express and HP Printer

I'm running Snow Leopard. Connected my HP 4280 Printer via USB to Airport Express. Presto! Instant wireless printing. Then 3 days later, without changing any settings, I now get "Printer is Offline" message.
I've tried dumping printer driver, and reinstalling new driver downloaded from HP. No luck.
I went to Airport Set Up Utility > Printer > Manual Set Up, and there is no printer listed.
Thanks in advance for any ideas to help me!

I got in touch with HP through their website. They sent me an email with step-by-step instructions. Here they are. Problem solved!
    From HP:
    Cause for the issue:
This issue may occur due to device or network conflicts.
    Resolution:
Before we proceed with troubleshooting this issue, please confirm if the latest printer software (Mac os x 10.6 compatible) is installed on your Mac and the Mac is able to communicate wireless with the router.
If yes then continue with the following steps,
Step 1: Reset the Print System
    1. Click on Apple icon
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Click on Print and Fax
    4. Click on the printer on the left side
    5. Press the Ctrl key + click on Your printer icon
    6. You will get an option to choose Reset Print system.
    7. Click on Reset Print System. This will reset the print system.
    Step 2: Repair Disk Permissions
    1. On your Mac, click on Go menu from the finder menu bar at the top
    2. Select Utilities tab
    3. Click on Disk utility
    4. Once the disk utility pops up, select the hard drive and click on Verify Permissions tab.
    5. This may take some time to complete as the Mac will try to verify all the permissions for the hard drive.
    6. Once the Verify Disk Permission is complete, restart the mac.
    7. Follow steps 1 – 4.
    8. In the 4th step select Repair Disk Permissions. Once the repair disk permissions is complete,
    9. Restart the Mac.
    Step 3: Re-add the Printer
    1. Click on Apple icon
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Click on Print and Fax
    4. Click on the + sign to add the Printer
    5. Select your printer next to which says Bonjour.
    6. Click on Add.
    Try Printing.

  • Airport Extreme and Wireless Printing

Okay so i know that you can make wireless printing by simply connecting your printer to the airport extreme. However I have a wireless printer and i read somewhere that the extreme does not allow the wireless printer to be discovered when used with the extreme. I want to know if this is true. I currently use a linksys router and whenever i print something, the first time takes forever for it to detect the printer. I am hoping that a newer router will help but i want to know if the extreme does support wireless printers.

Same issue here. I recently upgraded to an Airport Extreme and can no longer print wirelessly. Before this router I used a different brand of wireless router and had no issues. When I go to the printer itself, an HP OfficeJet 7410, and look for networks on the little display it can see mine and the neighbors. However, when I tell it to join the network it gives me an error message along the lines of "Cannot join this network." New network password has been entered.

  • Airport Extreme and USB printer

This past week upgraded my home system to Verizon's FIOS--new router, wiring, etc. Got the Airport up and running without too many glitches. I did have to unplug it a few times in the process. But now I find the Airport no longer sees my Lexmark C510 printer. It's never had a problem seeing it before and I fail to understand why any external changes would affect this connection between the Airport and printer. I note, too, that in the past week I updated the Airport firmware to the latest, and have heard that others have problems with printers subsequent to that. The Airport DOES see the USB hard drive connected. No trouble there. This is purely a printer issue.
I have unplugged the printer, unplugged the Base Station, and shut down everything and brought it up one piece at a time, but no change in the status of the printer.

Try as others have to roll back the firmware to 7.3.2. Worth a shot since it was running ok before the upgrade.

  • Please release Android 5.1.1 for Galaxy S6 to fix notifications and finger print scanner!!!!!!

This is ridiculus.  You guys patched the phone to fix one thing and broke another.  My finger print scanner is a piece of crap!   It used to work 85% of the time before the update.  I have to have it on for security reasons and for work.  I am also still getting stupid notifications from the system that say things such as "Hidden Content", "Searching for GPS", and stuff pertaining to WIFI networks.  I can't get rid of those stupid updates.   Can you please realese an update to fix things, and not break things which further reduces the useablity of this $700+ phone?  I spent a lot of money on a phone with awesome hardware but so far the bugs have made the OS less then desirable.  I so miss my old Moto X.  It just worked and did not have these bugs and flakeyness!!

    >>The wifi notication is always going to be there. Search for GPS comes and goes I realize that.  IMO its not acceptable to pay $700+ for a phone and no option to turn this crap off.  I have had a lot of mobile phones and have never been annoyed by notifications that I can't turn off.  Reseting it is not an option either.  We don't have any idea if that would even help.  Sounds like a generic canned answer to me.  Is there a knowledge base article that goes over the bugs and fixes for these issues?  I work in IT and my vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco and VMware release knowledge base articles for bugs and work arounds for them but yet I don't see that for AT&T phones.  Do you have any idea how many hours I put in to setup this phone with all the work apps and personal apps, WIFI etc?

  • Leopard, WM Fusion and Brother Printer

    Hi all,
I am a totally new MAC convert. I have a brand new IMAC (Which is great) but I have to have to run Windows Office (Excel & Word) . I opted to run WM Fusion with a Windows Vista virtual machine. Every thing works fine except that I cannot get my Brother Laser Printer to work in both the Virtual machine and MAC environments.
Suggestions would be very gratefully received.

VMware is a hardware emulator software that emulates all the hardware devices from your mac computer to make it like your desired os.
    1. Just make sure that your vmware tools are all installed and enabled.
    2. Also make sure that you have all the security updates downloaded. (ofcourse make
sure your going to use a license cd key of your os to be able to do that)
    3. Click on Virtual Machine tab, go to settings, click on usb and make sure
that enable usb 2.0 support and automatically connect usb devices are checked.
    4. Download and install a win vista driver for your printer's support site,
if ever your printer is incompatible with win vista, then that may be the issue
    why it isn't working.
My Epson Stylus rx595 works like a charm by doing that, both the epson scan and the printer withtout
any conflict on my mac computer. It may sound a lot of work but it really pays
    off.

  • Macbook airport card and antenna

i have 2 macbook c2d,one has the 2 antenna airport card and the wifi is very slow, the other with 3 i presume is n version, but i had to swap the screens over, now the mabook i use has a 3 antenna card but only 2 antenna from the monitor, would i be better of using the 3 antenna version but ust plugging 2 in and which 2?

I can't help with tracking down the "T" shaped antenna that plugs into the back of the G5, or an equivalent, but I can tell you that the wire that connects to the Airport card in my G5 disappears around the back of the motherboard.
It may have a metal ring on the other end but I can't see it.
I'm assuming you didn't buy the G5 new, because you are missing of the "T" shaped antenna which is supplied with the computer, so I'm guessing whoever had the G5 before you pulled the airport card out before disconnecting the antenna cable and ripped it from its mounting.
My guess is the metal ring is used to attach it somehow.
