Macbook Airport Issues Please Help!!!

Hi, I have a Macbook from 2006 With 10.4.11
My wireless has been acting very weird as of late, about 1 month ago i was able to connect to the internet via wireless, then it suddenly stopped working. The thing is, i am connected to the router, I can ping the router, but any if i go to a website it will hang for a while then nothing. I have a linksys WRT300N (which I was connected to well before all this started happening), and i am out of options.
Please help

Oh yeah forgot to mention, I am connected via hardwire.

Macbook airport issues! Help!

I have a macbook and last year I was having trouble with the airport wireless. It would lose connection and I would have to restart the Linksys router to make the internet work again. I got fed up with it and decided to buy the apple airport extreme router thinking that would fix my problem. I was wrong. Every other computer in the house connects to the router just fine, but my macbook loses the connection every time it goes into sleep mode. When i type in my password to get it out of sleep, the airport bars on my macbook book show no bars being filled... but the apple router is available to be chosen. When I choose my network.. it continuously shows the message :error joining network:. Once i try to reconnect about 50 times it will finally connect. But if the computer goes to sleep it starts all over. Any ideas??

I'm having a similar problem although not quite as bad as you from what it sounds. An easy way to reestablish a connection is to click the airport icon and then "turn off airport." You may have to type your admin password. You can then select "turn on airport" and, for me, a connection is made. Not perfect but somewhat quick.

Unknown MacBook Pro Issue, Please Help... T^T

My computer was on when I first left the room and then it was un-responsive when I found it, and now it has the OS disc stuck in its drive. *Sigh* Apparently, after I tried resetting my Mac's SMC and leaving the room (again), my well-meaning father, who repairs computers for a living, tried to boot my laptop off the OS disc, thinking it would fix things. He said that he thought that "since the disc-drive are independent from the HD (which he thinks has gone bad) it would be ok to try" (his words, please tell me if he's wrong, he has a tendency to believe he knows everything). I've been trying to remove the disc by holding the eject button upon start-up, but it's not working. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the darn disc out?
I've tried taking out the battery and replacing it. I tried resetting the SMC (take out battery, remove cable, hold power for five seconds and replace both before attempting to turn it back on). The Mac doesn't want to turn on with or without the battery inserted (the latter of which being plugged in with the MagSafe adapter)
It sounds like it wants to try to boot up, but there is no sound upon start-up (you know, the BWOOM! noise) and the workings just slow to a crawl seconds after the power button is pushed. The screen doesn't display anything either. Incidentally the battery has a full charge, as evidenced by both the green magsafe plug light and the five lights on the battery pack. One of them was blinking earlier, but that might have been it charging, I'm not sure. I just replaced the battery pack last year, so that shouldn't be the problem. Also the little light on the button that opens the laptop oddly enough gets brighter when you shut it (I don't know if that has anything to do with anything, but I'm including it in the event that it's one of those weird things that DOES mean something) than while it's opened. It's not a unibody Mac, it's the one before that so I think that makes it a 2006 model, but I'm having a hard time finding out if this is true or not. T^T

The code that runs the Option key is all-in-ROM. If it won't do that, the only thing simpler is the Apple Hardware Test. For that, you hold the D key, and sometimes, if you are still on your original Hard Drive (have never upgraded the drive itself), it will start up. Otherwise, you need the DVD drive.
So if nothing is lighting up, it's the Apple center next. A visit to the Genius Bar for an evaluation is free, in warranty or out, but an appointment is required.

Trackpad Issue - Please Help!

Hope you can help me out here.
I've recently purchased a 15" i7 Macbook pro. The machine is but 3 weeks old &, of course, very well looked after.
A few days ago, the built-in trackpad started behaving eratically. Cursor moving by itself, not responding to touch, clicking and opening things involuntarily. Not good at all. Many users seem to have had this exact same issue.
These problems seemed to miraculously stop after a few re-boots and possibly a software update? I really couldn't tell you what resolved the problem.
Unfortunately I now have a totally different problem.
There is a thin, possibly 8 to 10mm horizontal strip across the centre of the trackpad that no longer responds to touch. If I move my finger from the botom of the trackpad upwards (or vice versa), the cursor will stop momentarily as it passes over the horizontal strip. The buttons are fine and the rest of the trackpad is fine. For the moment, I've increased the cursor acceleration so that I can at least navigate round the screen with a smaller area of the trackpad. USB magic mouse seems to work fine.
If anyone else has experienced this &/or found a solution for this issue, please help me out here. I have rifled through endless threads about MBP trackpad issues with little success & do not live close to an apple store/genius bar.
This is a 3 week old machine that cost me a small fortune. To be getting software/hardware issues so early on in it's lifespan is really rather worrying for the future.

I'm not sure what caused this, but I extended my lunch break and drove the machine down to the Westfield apple store. I didn't have an appointment with the Genius Bar but I managed to persuade one of the staff to speak to a technician in the workshop. She came back into the store and told me that they had replacement trackpads and that , considering the machine was only 3 weeks old, the technicians kindly sandwiched the repair into their timetable at zero cost. 2 Hours later, I now have a perfectly functioning trackpad/machine.
I can't thank them enough.
My only gripe is that I couldn't speak to a technician to find out what the problem was, how they resolved it or what causes these issues for future reference. Understanding why these problems occur often helps to build your own framework of understanding. Most of the threads i've read about trackpad issues are largely unresolved with people only speculating the problem/solution.
The initial issue I had with the trackpad's erratic behaviour seemed to be a well known problem that many are associating with a trackpad firmware update. Unless by pure coincidence I had an immediate & major hardware fault after it, which is unlikely, my personal guess is that the two issues were related.

Mid 2010 15" MBP i5 A1286 POWER ISSUE-PLEASE HELP-

The MBP works fine when mains connected but the only issue is every time I take the charger out it shuts down on me!!! So I have checked with a multitester & looks good the only thing i find hard to check for power is the battery itself as its hard to get a good connection, also I took to local Apple store & they checked with a new battery but said its still same issue so the guy disconnected nearly all the connecters off to check if they causing issue & he said now the battery is charging.
So they still have the laptop to do further tests etc, but I’m not sure what could be the problem hear as maybe there is some component which is bad so the battery’s not charging or what else could be the issue please help & advice as I’m really confused as if it was something to do with the logic board then surely it would not even charge even after checking with the multitester or like Apple genius done by disconnecting other components...

You most likely installed Windows 7 in EFI mode. Can you confirm this?
If you used Bootcamp Assistant to partition your drive, you did not install in EFI mode.
If you selected "EFI Boot" at the boot menu before installing Windows, you started the EFI Boot installer.
Please let us know whether or not you installed in EFI mode because audio not working is a common problem in EFI mode, but should not appear in normal BIOS mode. (Normal BIOS mode is when you used Bootcamp assistant)

HT204406 iTunes Match saying I'm limited to 5 devices...but I don't have 5 devices and won't work on my MacBook Pro. Please Help!

I've just got a new MacBook Pro, and want to have iTunes Match on it. But when I go to 'add this computer' in iTunes on the MacBook, a message comes up saying I've reached my limit of Match being on 5 devices. This makes no sense because I only have match on my iPad and my old Windows laptop and nothing else.
Out of curiosity, I turned off iTunes Match on my iPad to see what would happen, but I still cannot get Match on my MacBook Pro.

Do a backup before proceeding.
Try putting the 10.6.3 disk in the computer. During a restart, hold down the option/alt key, select the disk, and see if you can boot from there. If so, select the language, then go to the Utilities menu, and select Disk Utility. Check to see what partition scheme you have by selecting the hard drive.
If you don't have GUID, you are going to need to erase the drive and reformat, which will cause you to lose all your data. Did I mention doing a backup?
If you do have GUID, run Disk Utility repair disk and repair permissions. You may have to do this more than once. Then try in install 10.6.3.
If successful, use the combo update to get to 10.6.8 and then run Software update until there are no more updates.

I have GEMPLOYE1 Which is a time dependient master data. which has Attribute called 0COUNTRY_ID.
I have a custome attribute Called Actual PSGroup/Grade GPAYSCGR which has a compounpunding attribute 0COUNTRY_ID
Now when I am trying to transport PSGroup/Grade GPAYSCGR to QA that transport is failing , the log massage is
Characteristic GEMPLOYE1: Attribute GPAYSCGR compounded to 0COUNTRY_ID has a diff. time-dpdncy
If any one saw this issue, please help me to fix the same.

We can't add authorisation objects on Individual servers.We need to add authorisations on BWD ie Dev system and transport to BWI QUA system.This is the Process we need to follow as per our rule set.
So,As the problem mentioned above if i add some auth. objects on BWD DEV system and transport it to BWI QUA system,it is getting transported Successfully to BWI,but the auth.objects what i have added on BW DEV system is not found on BW QUA system.
What could be the problem for that,Is that the problem with transports like TP error or is it related with some tables of auth.objects...................

I have a datagrid and I am doing a custom sorting on the grid(by getting data from DB).
I achieve this by capturing the headerrelease event of datagrid .In thee venthandler I will query from DB and do event.preventdefault to prevent standard grid sorting.
Now I need to display my own custom ascending/descending arrows in the header.i have created an header renderer for this,
In the headerrenderer I am lsitening to the headerrelease event of datagrid and in the eventlistener, as per the sortfield, i am trying to make the sort arrow visible/invisible.
But somehow making the sort arrows visible/invisible is not working.The initial arrow works fine.it is shown the correct column(Name) as done in the init() method.
The eventhandler is invoked on clicking the column headers and all the alerts are shown.
Please see the headerrenderer code below and help me.(code is not complete only the relevant part is included)

Vista Premium Home Edition 32-bit on newest Macbook Issues PLEASE help!

Please someone help me with my problem, I'm begging! I've asked around a bunch of places and everyone comes back to me with "well it's a mac.. use it as a mac why do you have vista on it" and never seem to help me. I love my mac, but I also use Vista for many other programs.
Okay here's some backstory...
I recently had to buy a new macbook because my old white macbook came back to me unrepairable! So I had bought the newest model of the macbook, the aluminum 13-inch. Now on my old white one I had installed vista no problems at all, no issues. It ran beautifully! Now I thought I'd have no issues doing the same on the new macbook. Boy was I wrong! I portioned my disc - installed vista, installed the bootcamp drivers and started vista.
It was fine for a while but then I started getting sound cut outs and screaching noises! When I am gaming the sound cuts out completely but not before the game freezes. Then I started having issues watching videos and listening to audio on firefox. Then it'd crash completely! Now it's started shutting off completely giving me a blue screen for a couple seconds telling me there may be a conflict or driver issue. It doesnt stay on long enough for me to read but I ended up checking windows problems and solutions and found this:
"This problem was caused by a compatibility issue between Intel 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Controller - 27B9 and this version of Windows.

I don't know how to fix it. I've been trying everything - reading forums, trying to update drivers, reinstalling bootcamp drivers, and vista repair... I just have no idea what to do! Please help me!!! Please please! If you need more information ask for my email so I can talk to you more in-depth so I don't go insane trying to figure this out!

What do you want someone to say or do.
The story slides into information about Intel chipsets and crashing. That to me says take it into Apple and have AppleCare do something.
There is no reason to deal with an issue. A Mac is a personal computer. There is nothing that says it can't run Linux or Vista or has to run Leopard (though it isn't supported on older versions of OS X).
I've used Vista for over two years now, from RC1 pre-release to the latest SP2 beta.
Is your version of Vista SP1 or the older original?
I've found lately that I need to install some software even before Vista starts doing all the updates. Apple Boot Camp but also AV software etc. HOWEVER, given some of the reports, I sometimes wonder if the Apple Windows drivers are current and were tested on late 2008 to work with Vista and XP SP3.
I would think Vista SP1+ would be best bet. I'd even install Vista and then see when Windows 7 beta is officially available to the public, it runs better on laptops than Vista or XP. Better battery life, support for mobile and wireless devices etc.
You could play around and I've downloaded drivers or looked for drivers on Intel, something you would do on any PC running Vista. Maybe these links and discussions or Intel's. And find people and places that support you rather than "lecture." I don't know, haven't read up, on the device, or use a MacBook, but maybe these will help you.

Macbook/Airport issues

Some months ago I bought an Airport Express (now running 7.6.4) to extend the WIFI from an Zyxel modem.
It has worked without a problem for months. Now however I am having issues with just one of the Macbooks (now running OS X 10.8.5) in the house.
First of all, Safari is loading VERY slowly and are sometimes loading pages partially whereas other times not loading them at all saying: "Safari cannot open page" (this is my translation from danish). Second of all, neither Mail or App Store seems to be online. Mail is not loading any new mails and App Store gives me the message: "Cannot make connection to App Store Internet connection required" (again my translation from danish - it might not be exact). Transmission has 25 finished torrents in queue and is not uploading, so I would think that this application does not really have internet either. Actually it seems as though the computer is offline, although Safari does load a page from time to time which I think is sort of weird.
When connecting to the Airport using an ethernet cable everything runs smoothly! The problem is only there when using WIFI.
My girlfriends Macbook is running 10.6.8 without any of the issues Im having. We also have two Apple TVs working without issue.
I have updated my Mac and the Airport and I have tried to disable DNS Prefething, none of which have solved my issues.

IPhoto trouble on Macbook Pro. Please help!

I have reached max capacity on memory on my macbook. Bought an external hard drive to back up all of my pictures and to clear up room on my computer. I did this two days ago. Since then, I have not been able to open iPhoto. When I do, I get this message :
"Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable. Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup."
Please help!!!! I have restarted my computer and that doesn't work. I am scared to rebuild bc I don't want to lose all of my pictures. They are from the first 2 years of my daughter's life. and to make matters worse, they are not showing up on my external hard drive either!! Please please help!!!!!!!

First don't confuse memory with hard drive space. You ran out of hard drive space.

MBP running at a snail's pace, and a myriad of other interrelated issues, please help :'-(

Hello, my MBP is running very slowly, MS Office for Mac constantly freezing, Safari constantly freezing, various little issues are arising with many different functions/programs when I try to use them; i.e., the enter key will just stop working in Excel or my Adobe Acrobat will shut itself down out of nowhere, Finder freezes and/or won't relaunch; these are just a few examples, but the overall theme is that I am experiencing problems in usability and functionality with my MBP across the board. There is no rhyme or reason to any of it, and all programs and apps seem to be affected. I first began noticing the problems upon installation of the Yosemite upgrade so initially thought that was the issue, but I have since found that malware items have added themselves to my Safari extensions. I found instructions to remove them entirely, but could not find them anywhere on my computer other than the Safari extensions when I followed the steps provided. I tried clicking "uninstall", but had no luck, which is not surprising since I am pretty sure the "uninstall" option listed with the extension is just part of the malware. I have "disabled" the extensions, but that didn't do anything. I'm sure that they have implanted themselves elsewhere and are lurking in the shadows of my operating system and wreaking havoc throughout my computer.
The whole situation is making it extremely difficult to get anything done, and if I don't fix it soon it is going to be the major contributing factor to my complete mental collapse.

I tried to find suggestions in other areas of the Apple Support Community, and found the EtreCheck tool in one of the discussion threads. The minimum requirement is 2GB, but most people think 4GB is the bare minimum.
I primarily buy from Crucial, Other World Computing, or MemoryTen. As long as they have a "configurator" where you pick you exact Mac from a list and it lists all the compatible memory for that Mac, AND it has a lifetime warranty on the RAM, it should be ok. Macs are very picky about the RAM because they use it to its full capacity. If there are any faults in the modules, it will crash.
There are suggestions for sites in other parts of the world on the EveryMac website. Look down in the Section for RAM where you'll find links to their sponsors (OWC is the US-based one).
In Apple's world, there is a difference between and "Upgrade" and an "Update." Updates should generally be installed as they patch vulnerabilities and fix bugs.
Upgrades on the other hand are an entirely new Operating System (OS). A change in the OS can cause many problems with your installed software as it may not be compatible with the changes. It may rely on programming interfaces that have been removed. They should know that they will be removed as Apple publishes those facts many years prior to removing the features.
An Upgrade takes you to a major, new version of software whereas and Update just makes changes to the same major version of the software.
Yosemite was an Upgrade, not an Update.

Audio Sync issues - PLEASE help

I have created many videos in iMovie '09. I have used the HD setting for them, 1280x720 even though they were shot in SD format. I have uploaded them to YouTube and they all view just fine. They all viewed just fine in Quicktime version 7.6.6, as well.
I have been doing this for years now, since at least 2009, and all video/audio has worked flawlessly together.
My most recent problem (past few months) has been that I am now running Mac OS X version 10.6.8. My iTunes is 10.4 and my Quicktime is now 10.0
And now my audio and video WILL NOT SYNC.
I need help very badly because I have a presentation on Saturday and I need to load a bunch of videos (in the same viewer window) and have those videos play in a loop, one right after the other, while I'm talking to prospective clients.
I put these same movies into Quicktime Player 7 version 7.6.6 and they play just fine, still - I just tested this on my imac and my macbook.
I need these videos to play in my iTunes, but the audio/video sync issues have ruined my video play.
Can someone PLEASE help me remedy this situation. I would be forever grateful. I have casually searched for an answer, repeatedly but I need to remedy this by Friday night.

What format are you using in iTunes to play them back? Are these the exact same files as the one, you are playing back in Quicktime 7?

Yes, if you use Boot Camp to run Windows on your Mac, Microsoft Office 2010 will be able to run without any issues. If you want to run Microsoft Office from within Mac OS X, you would need to purchase Microsoft Office for Mac.
