Macbook and car adapter?

hello everybody,
i am the proud owner of a new macbook. since i am a photographer, i need a way to run/charge it from my cars battery via the cigarette-lighter plug. yes my car is that old;-) any suggestions. i am in germany btw.
thanks a lot, eddie wagner

Hi Wagner,
Up until now, there is no car adapter mag safe for macbook and macbookpro from apple or third party supplier.
What I do to fill the gap is buy a small car inverter and plug it to the lighter outlet and I plugged my magsafe to the other end.
Get one that at least have enough wattage for your magsafe (60 watt).
Also Mort (First Magus) often give this link to consider:

Good Luck.

  • No connection between iphone 4s and car-adapter

    Hello,
Have a question to iphone 4s in connection with my car - adapter for Volkswagen (Adapter-Article.No. 3C005143CD)
My phone, updated to 5.1.1 (9B206) and since then is that impossible for bluethoth-connection.
Is that correct or anyone to find a solution for my problem? The adapter has cost roughly 100 euros and now is it for garbage!
    Thank you help,
    Gerdi from Schleswig-Holstein, North-Germany

Try "forgetting" the car adapter on the iPhone and reset the car adapter, reboot the phone by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears, then pair them again.

Do you guys know where could I buy that car adapter? and also are there any adapters you guys know that I can also charge my zvision:m while using the fm transmitter both at the same time charging it's
    appreciate the help.

I can't comment on the MQ Adapter as I've never used it however the Oracle AQ Adapter is very straight forward to use.
I'm assuming the Oracle Database AQ Queue and Object type has already been set up. I'm also assuming that it is Oracle database level Queueing system 'AQ' we are talking about and not OJMS.
Ensure you have created a connection to the Oracle Database that hosts the AQ Queue you want to monitor for messages (pull/Dequeue) or send messages to (push/Enqueue).
You should find the AQ Adapter Wizard steps for the AQ Adapter Service fairly intuitive.
From you ESB project in jDeveloper select and drag the AQ Adapter option from the Adapter Services drop down (or right click on the ESB design panel).
    Through the Wizard you will
Select a Name for the Service
    Select a database connection
    Select a Database Schema
Select an AQ Queue name (You can browse the Database schema using the Wizards browse button to find and select it)
For the Consumer (I think it's step 5) use the name of the user used for the AQ Queue creation
Step 6 (if memory serves me right) Select Business Payload = Whole Object <YourAQObjectType)
    And that should be it!
In addition, I haven't looked at this example myself but hopefully they'll be some pointers in here you'll find useful

  • Using Cellphone charger/car adapter with Creative

Can I use my Motorola Cellphone charger and car adapter with my new ZEN 4GB? It has a mini USB plug and the following specifications:
    Input: 00-240V~50/60Hz 0.2A
    Output: 5.0V DC 550mA
I would appreciate it if somebody who has a Creative charger would check the rating plate on it and see how it compares to my Motorola. I am going to Asia for a couple weeks and I won't be taking a computer but want my music.
By the way I did a search on this and this question has been asked before but never answered. Hope I get a better response. Thanks!

Let's see. How does that old song go? Going to set right down and write my self a letter.....
I tried both the 2V car adapter and the home charger that came with my Motorola cellphone and they both appear work just fine on my ZEN. Might not be a good idea to leave them plugged in unattended for a long period of time because I am not sure they have a way of sensing the charge condition of the ZEN battery the way *I assume* my computer's Creative ZEN USB driver does.

  • In-car adapter for macbook air - what's the latest on this please?

I've got the latest macbook air and need to use it, and charge it, from a 12 volt car socket. I understand that I cannot do this though - surely I must have been misinformed?
It seems that apple do make an "empower" socket rated at 15 volts that you can use on a plane, but it doesn't recharge the battery. However, clearly this limits the usefulness of sorting out some kind of rig-up, suggested in some chat rooms, with a dc-dc (ie 15v - 12v) adapter.
Does anyone know where a dc in-car adapter for a macbook air is available?

Modern Outpost is coming out with a MacBook 12V DC car adaptor, and are hoping to add an Air adaptor in the near future...

I see the comments about using an AC Inverter, but I prefer to speak about solutions that will work with solar chargers too. An AC inverter will not only NOT work from a solar panel without extra & heavy equipment, but it wastes more than 20-40% of your power... first it converts your battery power to dirty household AC, then your Apple adaptor converts it back to DC for your Mac.
I suggest using a DC adaptor and bypass the middleman.
Modern Outpost's website has nothing posted yet...

  • Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter for MacBook and MacBook Pro

Does the Apple MagSafe Airline Adapter for MacBook and MacBook Pro work in cars to in the cigerete lighter and how does it work on a airoplane cause in airoplanes there is only a mike connection thats about it ?

This is an alternative solution that works great for me. I always carry a small and lightweight DC to AC converter with me in my case when I'm on the road. It's a Wagan Tech Smart AC 100 USB that I picked up at Costco for under 20 bucks. 100 watt capability and allows me to use all my electronics and chargers on the road. I can use it to charge the cellphone, laptop, ipod, etc.
Even includes a USB port on the side for charging USB based products and also includes the aircraft adaptor (and of course a cigarette lighter adaptor) and everything fits into a small cloth bag (included).
    http://www.wagan.com/htmls/detail-2382.html
The link is for the newer 120 watt version but it looks identical otherwise. If you don't have access to Costco then check the link provided for either direct purchase or the availability of other resellers. There's a "where to buy" tab at the top of the screen. Cheers!
P.S. I just noticed that you are from the U.K. I'm sure this will still work as your MacBook charger should autoswitch down to 110v input, you'll just need to make sure you have the North American plug installed. If not, I'm sure there are similiar DC to AC adaptors available in the U.K. Hope that helps!

First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010 model 7,1 White Unibody have a Mini DisplayPort. The Early 2006 model 1,1 through Early 2008 model 4,1s plus the Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s have Mini-DVI ports. Each would take a different adapter to connect with the TV.

  • My dream- an iphone 3g car adapter and charger WHICH

Lets me decide on whether or not to charge while playing music or not to charge... Why I want this? because if I charge my iphone for 30 min every day it wil kill the already weak battery. So I rather have a car adapter that could be used as a charger but just when I want it to charge...
if you have seen something like that- please share with me!
    Thanks.

    Thank you for your answers..
I will explain again to better understand- I usually work the night shift, which means I leave my house around 2 pm and get back around 1 am. I charge the iphone when I get back until I get up which fully charges it. The drive to work takes me around 30 min which means that The iphone will get charged for 30 min when I'll make my way there, at that time the iphone will be most likly at around 90-85% because it's been on the go for about 3-4 hours.
Then I will charge it again for 30 min- on my way back when it will most likely have around 10-20% left. I will then charge it completely when I'll get home till morning... Will this be good or bad for the battery?

You'll certainly need a new logic board.
If I were you, I would take the machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them evaluate the problems and give you an estimate for repair. If you're out of warranty, be prepared to pay a very high price to get your computer repaired.
    Good luck,

  • Same power adapter for Macbook and Macbook Pro?

We have a new Macbook and Macbook Pro in the house and I was wondering if the power adapters were interchangeable. I noticed in the store there are two different adapters for sale, but the ones we have appear to be the same or similar. I feel almost certain we can use them with either computer.
    Thanks for your help.

The 85 W MBP adapter can be used with both, the MB will only draw what it needs. The lower wattage MB adapter will not simultaneously power the MBP and charge its battery, but it won't do any harm.
    Hope this helps...

  • Macbook and the Macbook Pro Adapter

Recently my Macbook power supply failed. So i sent it off to Apple for a replacement. While waiting for the replacement to arrive I have been using a Macbook Pro power supply, which im sure some of you are aware is a higher voltage. Now my Macbook is randomly turning off. Ive been advised to backup and wipe the machine and do a long overdue reinstall.
My 1 year warranty runs out in three weeks so i have to be quick if I want to send it back for repair. Could the Macbook Pro Adapter cause these issues ? Im expecting the replacement Macbook power adapter back in the next couple of days should i try it with this or send it straight to Apple ?

No, the MacBook Pro adapter is perfectly safe on a MacBook.
If you look at the box on the larger power adapter in the Apple Store, it even says it's fine for MacBook and MacBook Pro. The small power adapter box says MacBook only.
The difference between the adapters isn't voltage, it's maximum current capability.

  • Is there an Apple Monitor that is Macbook and PC compatible? Perhaps with an adapter?

What model is your apple airport? A1xxx from the base please.
Is the computer running Mavericks as per your profile?
Time Machine has logs you can access.
This might give you some idea of what is wrong.. but I have to say if you run Yosemite.. therein lies your problem.

  • Charge and listen simultaneously while using car adapter?

hey everyone, so i realize that the itrip for nano is out, but yesterday while i was at target i found a little wee device called a "VR3 modulator" which was only $20. a steal compared to $60-70! ... it sez its fer all mp3 players and can be compatible with ipods! it has a usb port and an audio port. if i plug it into the audio port, itll play the music. if i plug it into the usb port, it'll charge. my question is: "is there any way to do both *at the same time*??" i know i can do both if i connectmy ipod to my mac (all i do is trash it and itll charge and play)... but when i connect to the usb port i get the "do not disconnect" image on the screen. theres no "trash" to send it to, so am i just forced to do either one or the other? ... am i gonna have to give in and go buy the griffin itrip or that one that (i thinks) is a belkin?

Strange sort of car adapter. I use a Monster iCarPlay. It plugs into a power port in the car (what used to be called a cigarette lighter) and connects to the nano's dock. It contains an FM transmitter that allows me to pick up my nano's music on the car stereo. Yes, it's more expensive. But it lets me charge the nano while I'm listening to my music.
Sometimes you get what you pay for.
