Macbook and dreamweaver mx

hey i've decided to up grade my powerbook g4 to a macbook.
however im a little scared to find out that dreamweaver will not work with the intel chips and with leppard. i've tried to search to see if there was any problems, and it was kinda hard to find anything on mx now!

People have reported a number of issues with Dreamweaver MX and Leopard. If you search the Mac OS X 10.5 forums here for "dreamweaver MX", you'll find some threads with comments and experiences. Upgrading to a newer version of Dreamweaver is highly recommended.

How well does a Macbook pro and a Macbook air run Xcode, Photoshop and Dreamweaver?

MacBook Pro - no problem, it is an extremely popular computer for running that software. Just look at the Adobe demo videos of their products, most of the time you can see a MacBook Pro running the software in their video.
MacBook Air - should be just as good most of the time.
However, if you get involved in heavy Photoshop work like highly stacked layers/masks/channels, 16 bits per channel or up, or merging HDR or panoramas, the MacBook Pro may be better because it can take 16GB RAM while the MacBook Air can take only 8GB RAM.
Also, if you are going to do serious programming in XCode or Dreamweaver, you may find the MacBook Air screen to be too small for all of the code windows and tool palettes that you may want to open and arrange in those programs. The 15" Retina screen of the MacBook Pro will let you spread out your work and do less window switching. The 11/"13" MacBook Air screens are both smaller and non-Retina so not as sharp.
Even Photoshop is nicer on the 15" MacBook Pro because of the extra screen space for the image with less intrusion by the tool palettes.
In short, if you are a casual user the MacBook Air will be great. If you are a professional with a heavy workload the MacBook Pro may be more efficient overall due to the larger screen and higher RAM capacity.

  • Photoshop and Dreamweaver on the Stock MacBook Air 11" 2012 128gb 4gb

    Hi
I'm just about to start my second year of university and have a budget of £850 and was just wondering would Photoshop and Dreamweaver CS6 run on the stock MacBook Air 11" (2012) with 128gb and 4gb.
I already have a 21" iMac (2011) with 16gb ram to do the seriously heavy loads so the MBA would be for propering essays and light to moderate photo editing and to design templates for websites. I dont play games and I use the iMac to watch movies and I use my iPhone to listen to music.
any advice will be greatly welcome
    thanks

  • Macbook, parallels, and dreamweaver

Hi. I'm thinking of getting a MacBook and Parallels so I can run Dreamweaver in XP. That's just what I'm thinking. I don't want to get a MacBook just to find out that Dreamweaver barely runs on it in Parallels, or not at all.
I was thinking of getting a 2.0 GHz MacBook with 2 gigs of ram. Does anyone else think that's enough to decently run Dreamweaver on Parallels? Or should I just run Dreamweaver in XP with Boot Camp? I'm sure running Boot Camp is probably the better choice but I do want to have both Mac and XP handy without having to reboot to switch between the two.
I will also possibly be running Photoshop in XP, granted, probably not at the same time as Dreamweaver. However, is this configuration with parallels enough?
I guess I should be looking at the MacBook Pro, but I'm not there yet. I'm just beginning (learning, in fact) so I don't really need the better stuff yet. If I can get away with a MacBook, so much the better.

Programs running under Rosetta definitely start slower and do run slower than their UB or Windows counterparts. But the more important question is whether the slower speed is actually going to have an impact in everyday use.
For example, Word being slower has no impact on my document creation or editing. I notice no impact on basic photo editing in Photoshop such as cropping, touch up, levels, and so forth but some filters are noticeably slower. Still, I've not been tempted to use Photoshop in Windows (even though I have it) because a) lost productivity booting back and forth with BootCamp would probably negate any speed advantage of PS in Windows, b) the slower screen redraws of Parallels Desktop would probably similarly negate much of the advantage, and c) I've found that muscle memory is highly ingrained with Photoshop!
In short, I'm not certain that the slower speeds under Rosetta emulation is enough to have any real affect in your use of DreamWeaver.
Yes, if you use your BootCamp partition from which to run Windows in Parallels Desktop, that partition would receive the malware picked up by Windows. For me, it is one of the major attractions of running Parallels from a container drive. I back up that drive once a week keeping the last 3 copies - ie the one that is a month old gets erased every week. Should I encounter a resistant piece of malware, getting back up and running will require erasing the container drive from my MacBook and copying the most recent (I hope!) backup from my external drive.

  • Can't install CS6 apps- photoshop, illustrator, indesign, after effects, flash and dreamweaver.

Hi, thanks for any insight you can provide:
    my specs are as follows:
Macbook pro mid 2012 13.3 inch
    OSX 10.8.4
    2.5 ghz Intel Core i5
intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB
    10 Gb 1333 mhz ddr3 ram
    500gb hdd/326 gb free
I had CS6 master collection installed on my computer up until today. I removed it because Illustrator was having a strange issue where points would snap to random nothing and, align wouldn't work and changing the stroke of an object would cause it to move down and to the left each time the stroke changed.
Illustrator issues aside, since uninstalling I can't get it to reinstall! It gives the following error:

So far this is what I have done:
uninstall everything, run the cleaner tool, reinstall- same error
uninstall, restart, run cleaner tool , restart, reinstall- same error
run cleaner tool, restart, resintall - same error
in checking the error codes individually it looked as though I might have file system errors
I rebooted with command+r and launched disk utilities from there (mac safe mode I guess?)
    verified mac hdd: verified OK
ran repair anyway- verified OK again
checked and, if possible, repaired each other volume- all OK
    rebooted, reinstalled, same error
I am going to address the first error now- that the display requirements were not met, and remove my external diplay from my macbook and reinstall.
Any help you might have though, I would be very grateful.

oh, also, i've re-downloaded the installer and also gotten a third installer from a friend.
removing the external display did not help

  • 1.83ghz Macbook and Adobe/Macromedia ??

I'm a poor student at the moment and I'm considering the Macbook 1.83 because I already have access to a dvd burner if needed so don't want to pay the extra $400 for the 2.0Ghz model.
That being said does anyone know if this MacBook will be adequate enough to run Adobe CS2 (PS and Illustrator mainly for only simple, small tasks) and Dreamweaver/Flash?
Do you think the next version of these will run on this MacBook also?
    I appreciate any opinions here.

I use Adobe CS2 and Macromedia Studio MX 2004 on my Mac mini Core Duo 1.66GHz and I do find that the Adobe applications do run a little sluggish. Acceptable for the moment but ultimately not special. Macromedia Studio applications run better. Be sure to get more RAM as the standard 512MB is not enough.
As for Adobe CS3, while I do expect it to run on all Intel Macs when it is released it's not for certain. Like Apple, Adobe may start to use the GPU to assist with floating point calculations in their applications. It just comes down to how they want to position their products and whether they will care for the lower end of the market. Let's face it, how many people do you know who actually owns the copy of Photoshop they're using on either a personal or professional level?

  • Issues with transfer between contribute and dreamweaver

    Hello!
I just installed the Adobe Creative Suite 3 the Master
Collection for my macbook and I am having issues when I open
contribute and then try to edit the sites in external application
i.e dreamweaver an error message comes up saying make sure that
dreamweaver is installed and that there is enough memory.
Please help me remedy this issue!

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
The usual reason for this is that you’re using a different colour space in Photoshop. Try using sRGB in both, see if it helps.

First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010 model 7,1 White Unibody have a Mini DisplayPort. The Early 2006 model 1,1 through Early 2008 model 4,1s plus the Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s have Mini-DVI ports. Each would take a different adapter to connect with the TV.

No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

  • I have recently bought a macbook and am using outlook 2011 as email. i am getting an error message 4.7.0 not allowed when sending emails how do I fix?

i have a macbook and am using outlook 2011 as email.   receiving okay.   sending okay sometimes.  am now getting error message 4.7.0 not allowed when sending.  what is the cause? how do I fix please?

I have discovered that the emails have in fact been sent but much later, maybe it's a network problem with the people i am sending it to.  so i checked my sent items and they are there, but at the time the email doesn't go straight into the sent box or drafts so i'm assuming it's disappeared and type it again.  i'll keep going with it, until someone can give me a possible solution or explanation as to what is happening.

Hello, Im new to this website. Im having issues with my Macbook. I have the old 2009 model Macbook and it is our schools macbook. The school just upgraded these MacBooks to OSX Mavericks and when i try to open Minecraft it won't let me. It says no jdk installed. I also try to install Java SE runtime but half way through the Software Update it says cant download software because of network problem but I'm connected to the internet and i can browse stuff just fine. Can any one help with my problems. P.S. I don't know the administrator password or stuff like that. And yes we are allowed to play games and stuff on these laptops but only at home not at school so don't tell me i need to focus on school and not games.

Since you updated the operating system, it is probably Minecraft is missing certain files that ware remove or are not longer comparable with the new version of the OSX. what I recommend, is to check is there is an update for Minecraft and install that. If there is not update available, probably the best thing will be reinstalling Minecraft. Hope this will help you.

  • Problem with MacBook and TimeCapsule (with Workaround)

    Hi,
thought it might be helpful to post my recent experience with my new MacBook (2,4GHz) and my *Time Capsule*.
I am using the Time Capsule as my main WLAN router and for backup. Reproducible, the MacBook (with OSX 10.5.6, all Airport updates applied; TimeCapsule with most recent firmware update 4.7.1) corrupts the TimeCapsule connection when waking up from sleep. Whenever the MacBook wakes up from sleep, it tries to (re-) connect to my wireless network. The airport sign in the menu bar changes from light grey bars to dark bars and the connection time counter appears next to it; but just a second later the counter disappears again, although the Airport signal bars are staying black. The result is that there's no wireless connectivity anymore; even the Airport admin software cannot find the TimeCapsule anymore. Furthermore, all other Macs (I have an additional iMac) loose there connections as well. Only thing that helps here is to restart the TimeCapsule (by disconnecting the power cord). After that, both MacBook and iMac can access the TimeCapsule again and everything works as normal.
This whole scenario can completely be reproduced and only happens when the MacBook tries to (re-) establish its Internet connection after wake-up from sleep. When I shut down the MacBook and boot normally, the MacBook connects without any problems.
After several hours of finding a solution, I've called Apple Support - and they told me that this is a *known bug*, but they currently have *no solution* for it. According to the Apple Support guy, I was not the first to report this problem (which was somehow a relief, but on the other hand a surprise as I haven't found similar problem descriptions on Mac forums yet), but they couldn't tell when and how the problem will be fixed. (Of course, they also recommended applying the most recent software updates (which I had) and resetting PRAM (which I did) - without any success.)
As now I got the impression that this is a bug with the current Late 2008 MacBook (it has a Broadcom BCM43xx based Airport Extreme Card) which I cannot solve myself, I looked at least for a workaround. I realised that this error doesn't occur when I turn Airport off before sending the MacBook to sleep, and activating it some safe time after waking up again. With the great resources at macosxhints.com, I found a small program called "Sleepwatcher" and a scripting addition called "XNetwork". Sleepwatcher runs as a demon in the background and can execute small tasks before a Mac goes to sleep and after it wakes up. XNetwork allows you to turn on and off Airport from within AppleScript (or the OpenScript Architecture). Now I use Sleepwatcher to turn off Airport just before my MacBook goes to sleep, and use it as well to (re-) activate Airport with a safe delay of 10 seconds after my MacBook wakes up again.
As of now, this works just fine (and as it should right out of the box...) - so I can wait more relaxed until Apple comes up with a real solution for this problem!
Sorry, this has become quite a long post - but maybe it is helpful for anyone.
    Cheers,
    Mark

I believe this was the problem I was experiencing at first, but it is now worse!
TC works fine EXCEPT for the AirPort feature when also using AirPort on my MacBook (late 2008, Unibody).
At first it seemed random, but I can now reproduce the problem at will. The TC stops working and the light goes solid amber or even no light at all sometimes.
    The scenario is the following:
TC works fine, I have an iBook G4 connected via ethernet and can surf the web; iPod touch (1st gen) can surf the web as well; everyone's happy. Turn on the MacBook with AirPort on, TC stops working; light goes amber or sometimes stays solid green (I configured it to flash on activity) or completely off. iBook and iPod can't surf the web. AirPort Utility does not even see the TC (hit Rescan many times, no luck). Restart TC by unplugging, waiting 20 seconds or so, plug it back, light is solid amber; AirPort Utility still does not see the TC. Repeat this a few times, waiting in between, no success. Turn off AirPort on the MacBook, unplug and plug the TC, it is now working in less than 30 seconds. iBook and iPod can surf the web; connect the MacBook via ethernet to the TC, everyone is still happy. Turn on AirPort on the MacBook, TC stops working. You get the picture. It has been 2 days now where I can reproduce this constantly.
I have an AirPort Express that I use to stream music, which extends the TC. My DSL modem/router is in bridge mode where the TC connects via PPPoE. My configuration has been the same for almost 2 years problem free. I reset the modem too but the above scenario still applies.
I did a hard reset of the TC by holding the reset button at the back until the light flashed amber rapidly. I re-entered all the configuration again, but still no luck.
I re-installed OS X 10.5.7, no luck. The firmware on the TC is 7.4.1 (74100.25). The AirPort card on the MacBook is listed as Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.38.35)
I set the log level to debug on the time capsule and entered the IP address of the iBook (which is connected via ethernet), but I could not find anything in the system.log or other logs via the Console application.
When the TC is working and I then turn on AirPort on the MacBook, this is the last entries from the logs on the TC:
Jun 11 20:20:12 Severity:5 Clock synchronized to network time server time.apple.com (adjusted +1 seconds).

(Severity 5 is 'Notice', 7 is 'Debug')
I turned on AirPort on the MacBook at 20:29 and then nothing after those few lines; in this last case, the TC light was solid green but the iBook or iPod could not surf the web (it was flashing green with activity just before as I opened a web page on the iBook).
Still no solutions as of yet...

  • I have a 2008 black macbook and access UK tv through a purchased proxy site. I want to buy a sony bravia internet connected tv to watch the channels in more comfort. Sony tell me this won't work - that the tv cannot capture my macbook content. Any advice?

I have a 2008 black MacBook and acess UK tv through a puchased proxy. I want to purchase a Sony Bravia internet connected tv and stream the site through a tv - Sony tell me this won't work - that a latest model tv cannot capture content and sites from a MacBook - is this true???? Surely there is a solution? Any help or advice welcome.

They are correct.  The only stream you can wireless connect the TV to a Mac is through an AppleTV, and that's purchased content on iTunes, and your own homemade content that is H.264 MPEG-4 that is 1800kbps.   Conversion of commercial video to that format is illegal, and hence how can not be stated on the forum.    Alternatively, as long as the TV is HDMI, you can wired connect it to your MacBook using the same advice here:
