Macbook beeps constantly, but won't turn on

After I bought my computer in the US and went through the security check on the way to Brazil, I tried to turn on my Macbook. At first I was afraid something happened in the xray machine at the security check. I think, though, that the start button seems to have been pressed down overnight. Now when I try to turn it on, the computer just beeps and beeps, but nothing happens. The screen stays black. I've tried taking the battery off, holding down the start button for 5 seconds and putting it back, but it doesn't help. The battery seems ok. Does anybody have any idea what I can try to be able to fix this?? Thanks

Beeps are usually RAM related. Try reseating your RAM modules, or try new RAM.

The battery's probably drained and the power brick on the fritz. Unfortunately, if she won't start there's little we can do for software-based diagnosis. You'll have to take it in to a Store or Service Provider for assessment.

If you purchased it from Apple directly, they have a 14 exchange or refund policy. Keep that in mind when you go to the store.

Hi, I used the Mac setup instructions, not the PC ones. The printer was automatically recognised in print and scan when I connected it with a USB cable. I accessed the server's web-based page and followed all the instructions, but still no joy. Thanks for the tip about posting. I have just posted in the section you suggested, so let's see what happens. From a quick scan around the apple forums, lost of other people seem to having precisely the same problem (and not just with HP printers!), but unfortunately, no-one seems to be offering a solution! And trying to get through to the apple online support is a complete waste of time. They've been 'not available' for two days now. Christmas/New Year shutdown, I suppose. Thanks for all your help, though!

Three beeps at startup almost always indicate bad RAM. You probably need to get your RAM replaced. Bring it in to Apple for a definitive diagnosis if you are unable to run the Apple HardwareTest

My phone keeps displaying a white screen with the apple, then occasionally flicks to a blue screen, but won't turn on! HELP!! I have had it on charge all day and have tried plugging it in to my computer to sync.

Restore your software using iTunes.
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
You should be able to restore your backup file after this procedure. If the problem comes back, you either have corruption in your backup file, or a serious hardware problem that should be looked at by a tech at the Genius Bar (make an appointment first).

MacBook pro died, charged it fully, but won't turn on at all.

Using my MacBook earlier but then it died right when it was in use, yet it's done this before. When to charge it and waited toll it was fully charged. Checked the battery and it said it was all charged. Went to push the power and it won't turn on. The battery seems fine when I push it and all green lights turn on. My wife left it on a bean bag with the mains attached. when i picked it up it was very hot and now it won't turn on.You can hear the fan when you plug the mains in but it doesn't turn on. no lights or display.

Macbook Pro late 2008 won't turn on

I had a well working Macbook Pro unibody late 2008 (15 inches) but wanted to upgrade it a bit so after changing the HD to 1TB (which worked with no issues) I ordered some RAM to get it to 8GB (from 4). I opened it, changed the RAM, cleaned up the Fans that were really full of dust, put everything back and surprise: The Power button does NOT respond. Battery is fully charged, MagSafe is green, everything seemd normal but it just won't turn on.
I tried to put the old RAM back in it => Same result.
I tried to reset the SMC following this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 (removed the battery and power, pressed the button for 5 seconds, plug it back) but it didn't work either..
I checked every cable I could see under the hood but I really didn't touch much of the machine besides the fansm that I didn't even unplug..
What could cause this?? How do you troubleshoot a machine that won't even power.

how did you clean the fans? The MacBook Pro’s internals are extremely sensitive to static electricity; if you did not take care to discharge any static electricity on your person before working with its internals, you might well have fried them through static electricity discharging into your MacBook Pro’s logic board.

My MacBook Pro died and won't turn on

My MacBook was playing music and suddenly started skipping the song. It then died - black screen and won't turn on. The little button on the bottom left side still allows the tiny circles of green to come on, but no sound, no nothing on the screen.
