  • Everytime I come home from being somewhere else my macbook pro(late 2007) will not connect to my airport express(802.11n)

Also, my airport utility can never find the airport express either.  It keeps searching and searching.  I've downloaded all the updates, as far as I know...
Also, my iPhone 5 won't connect either.  And the iPhone 4 I had before wouldn't either!
    Thanks!

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership. If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you also have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to  exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different.

  • Safari will not load webpages

Safari will not load web pages. The browser hangs and stops loading completel and will not connect to the internet, even though I am perfectly connected to wifi...so I know it's not the wifi that's a problem. I have looked through multiple forums for troubleshooting safari to no avail.
I know for a fact that the problem lies within safari SOMEWHERE, and since the only way for me to connect to the internet is through safari (i'm on a school network that doesn't allow me to connect to any other web browsers), I can't run any updates, reinstall safari, download any programs, etc.
I'm totally stuck in a rut and I don't know what to do...help!

Launch the Terminal application and copy or drag -- don't type -- the line below into the window:
    curl -I http://www.apple.com
Press return. You should get several lines of output below what you entered, starting with this:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Is that what you get?
    Safari will not load webpages
I figured out a way to drag the link into the terminal application, and I did get lines of output starting with HTTP/1.1 200 OK

  • Macbook Pro Flash videos will not load on any browser?

On my macbook pro all of a sudden all flash based videos such as youtube will not load and freeze before they are loaded. IT does not work on safari, chrome, or firefox. have uninstalled and reinstalled flash. Used Disk utility. Empted cache. Any idea what is wrong? This problem just started this week. Internet connection is good.

    Uninstall Flash
Download OnyX and run all the checks, maintaince and cleaning aspects and reboot at the end.

    Reinstall Flash

  • MacBook 5.1 Safari will not load

I'm having trouble loading Safari on my MacBook 5. Before this morning I had no issues. Today when I attempt to pull up a Safari browser my entire computer locks up. If I have the Force Quit open I can cancel the browser. If not, I can't even select the Apple in the far top left corner.
Everything else works fine but Safari gets hung everytime. I get so far as half of the homepage displayed then it just stops.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did the following (outlines in a previous post)
If your Safari won't open, one or more of the following procedures should fix it:
    1. Go to Home/Library/Safari/ folder and remove the following two files:
    • history.plist
    • lastsession.plist
(Safari may not load properly If these two files are corrupted.)
    2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/ and remove the contents of that folder.
(These are just webhistory files and are not required for Safari to run. However, similar to preference files, problems can arise if they have become corrupt.)
    3. Locate the cookies.plist file that's located in the Home/Library/Cookies/ folder and remove it.
(Again, faults in stored cookies may interfere with Safari's launch.)
    4. Check whether any of your third-party internet plug-ins may be interfering with the launch of Safari by carefully moving them to the desktop (do NOT delete them at this stage). You can find these in two places:
Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ folder, and Global plug-ins are located in the Macintosh HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ folder.
Also look in Library/Input Managers where other third party add-ons may lurk. If you find a SIMBL folder, please note that some SIMBLE.bundles may require updating or possibly removal.
Restart Safari and place them back in the correct folders, one at a time, closing and re-opening Safari each time. If you discover that one of them was causing the problem with launching Safari, trash it and download and install a fresh copy.
    Lastly, repair permissions.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    you could try this.
Go to system prefs>users>create a guest account.
log into  the guest account and launch safari 5.1 from there
and see if you experience the same issues.
if you do not, then it is certainly a preference issue, or conflicting extension, possibly a cookies issue
alternatively, a swifter method to resolve this issue, would be to get an app called "AppZapper"
open appzapper, make sure safari is closed (once open, you may need to uncheck in the appzapper prefs,'keep apple apps safe'),
drag the app into the box, and it will auto discover all related supporting files for safari.
you can then either delete them all at will, then remove the files from the trash and place them in a folder to restore individually at a later date. or select which ones you want to go

  • Firefox will not load webpages and has trouble quiting

Recently, firefox has randomly stopped being able to load pages as if the wireless was not work (redirected to the cannot find server page). I would think this was a problem with the internet, but when I restart my wireless it is not fixed and my other browsers do not see the same issue. When I restart firefox it works again, but I usually have to do this several times a day. Another issue, firefox will not quit when I do command Q. The window will close but the application will not quit, and I have to go and force quit it. Background info, using Macbook, wireless internet, firefox is up to date. Thanks for your help.

  • My Macbook Pro (mid 2007) will not go to sleep.

When I close the lid, select sleep from the  menu, or push the power button, and select "sleep" my MBP will not go to sleep as it ussually does.  It has been doing this since I performed the last set of software updates (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53) about a week ago.
I need help... this is annoying

This is for a Mac that won't sleep.
Here is Apple's  KB article HT1776 with their tips.
    Mine follow;
USB devices and hubs often cause Macs to not sleep or wake quickly from sleep (notably HP printers and scanners, HP all in ones, and Cannon scanners). Disconnect all USB except for keyboard and mouse and try. If it sleeps, add one back at a time testing after each one to find the culprit.
If you've set your Mac to receive faxes, it may not be able to sleep. It might also have a damaged preferences file. If you use your Mac for faxing, open System Preferences. click Print & Fax, click the Faxing tab, and uncheck the Receive Faxes On This Computer box.
If that doesn't work or you've never faxed on your Mac, go to Finder/Hard Drive /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and delete the com.apple.PowerManagement.plist and com..apple.AutoWake.plist files (if your Mac asks, type your admin. password). If the latter file isn't present in the folder, go to user name(probably your name)/Library/Preferences, delete the com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file, and reboot your Mac.
Some have resolved sleep issue by downloading the Combo update, from this site (yours may be corrupt), not Software Update  disconnect all firewire + USB devices except keyboard + mouse,Repair Permissions, re-install update, Repair Permissions again + try
    USER TIPS……..
Check in System Preferences > Energy Saver is "Wake for network access" checked? If so, uncheck it.
One user reported, " I couldn't make my macbook pro to go to sleep because I had my wireless headphone receiver still plugged in. I unplugged it and then it went to sleep."
Also, if you have an External Western Digital (WD) hard drive and have installed  WDDMService and WDSmartWareD on your Mac, it may not sleep. Fix is to un-install those....you don't need them to use the drive.
"I have had this problem with my IMac G5. It is surprisingly irritating. LaCie's Silverkeeper backup software was the cause. By default it gave itself permission to wake up the computer to check if a backup was needed. Do you have this or a similar program installed which has scheduled activities including wake-up permissions as an option?"
One provided this link, xlr8yourmac.com, to a member, which addresses failure of deep sleep with some users that updated and added new FireWire and USB card.
Also, here is Apple KB article TA2469 about PCI cards and sleep.
After few days of messing around I found out that I had desktop background (wallpaper) set to change every 1 minute. After unchecking "Change picture..." in system preferences (under Desktop/Screen saver), my powerbook went to sleep all by itself.
"I  have a Canon printer(shared) and my imac would not sleep. I opened up printer/fax in system prefs and noticed it said the printer was in use when it was off. Opened up the printer queue and noticed about 7 pending documents. Deleted them all and now it sleeps. Check the printer queue!"
One user has had success, after trying all these tips, using an App. called PleaseSleep. I've never used it though.
    Good Luck! 

  • Help ..my macbook pro late 2013, will not turn on..charger starts off green then immediately is out....it worked fine 2 days ago????

i have had a good experience with my macbook for a few years, when i downloaded osx, too many hanging issues, and now the battery, or charger will not work, no power ..just cannot get it to turn on

if you can borrow a charger from a friend, or go to the apple store and use a charger there; if it works then your charger is bad. If they also don't work then maybe your battery needs replacing.

  • My iMac will not load webpages, but my internet connection is fine.

I was watching a video on Hulu, and suddently I got a error that the website could not load. Since then, I can't load most pages (yet oddly I have found one page that still works.) Network diagnostics says that everything is working fine... and I can still connect to everything just fine with with my MacBook and iPhone on the same network. I have the same problem whether I am trying to use Safari or Google Chrome. Any ideas about what could make this happen all of a sudden? I have tried everything I have ever done when faced with a connectivity problem - I'm thinking it must be some specific setting on the computer that got messed up somehow.

Try using different DNS servers like OpenDNS (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220).

  • What is happening with Firefox; it is getting slower & slower from v5 thru 6 & now v7; it basically will not load webpages on start and is then very slow?

    Firefox
    Version
    7.0
    User Agent
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0
Since V5 thru v6 and now v7 firefox has been getting slower & slower particularly at logon and is now virtually useless.
    IE9 is working Ok.
Problem is occurring on two different computers.
Have doe necessary maintenance clearing cache, etc and on computer running registry mechanic, win Optimiser * and norton computer maintenance regularly
    Any suggestions appreciated?
    Regards
    Bob

  • Firefox will not load webpages: no error message, just keeps on circling

Firefox suddenly stopped loading webpages. The little circle with a ball just keeps on circling.
I had just downloaded a backup for my wordpress site, and downloaded a windows update but postponed restart. I tried restarting the computer but it didn't change anything.

  • Safari Will Not Load Webpages since iCloud and osx software update

I already had updated to osx lion, and this was just a package update for it, including iCloud.  Ever since I am able to open safari no problem and occasionally after about 5mins it will load a webpage.  I also use firefox and opera and i do not have a problem with either of those but I would prefer to continue using safari if it can be fixed.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
And could be a third party plugin preventing pages from loading as they should. Troubleshooting help here > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

  • Mac OS is connected to internet, but will not load webpages in any browser. Another Mac loads just fine. HELP!!!

My Macbook OS X 10.5.8 decided it didn't want to load any webpages anymore. I have tried both firefox and safari and get the same result. The tab will say connecting...but it never does. WHY!?!??!
I have four bars of WiFi connection.
Network diagnostics tests comes back "Connected" like there's no problem at all.
I have restarted my router and computer.
I have another Macbook Air that is connected just fine.
I have deleted and re-added the airport service.
I have renewed the DHCP Lease.
I have changed the router channel.
    I have tried everything!!
    Please help!

Nevermind, problem fixed.  After reading how to setup router with cable modem I realized I need to goto  main and clone router to cable modem.  I did that and problem was solved.

  • HT5219 My Macbook Air (Late 2010) Will not let me install Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter software. It says "This software is not supported on your system." What can I do to stop this and install the adapter software?

    Help me

"This software is not supported on YOUR SYSTEM" seems to be a recurring theme in Apple Support site offerings for MacBook Pros and I suspect that Apple didn't really work this issue thoroughly enough to make their hardware updates viable.
You are not alone, Raigbow.  Many MacBook Pro users are finding the Apple Support update packages are not doing what their support instructions indicate should be happening.
I believe this is a bigger issue of Apple not thinking of previously sold units as worthy of solid support.  After the one year warranty, unless you buy more warranty - and I have - the half-hearted but very thorough documentation of non-working "fixes" shows they aren't all that concerned with your happiness as a user.... Only as a potential buyer of the next Apple showcase item.
After that, they will be on to the next big thing.  Kind of like the Japanese model, in which old things are discarded.
But save your work, your data, as the only fix the manufacturer will offer is to wipe your drive and reinstall the original software.
Or use the iCloud to save everything you do and value, since the device you use to access it is short-term.. Don't get too attached to your MAC, because it is terminal in nature.
