MacBook + Bluetooth Mouse + Networkactivity = Jerky Bluetooth Response

My bluetooth MightyMouse becomes extremely jerky, unresponsive and inaccurate Wwhen my TimeCapsue runs a backup.
Is there a definitive answer from Apple regarding the cause of this poor performance? Is it the reality of two technologies that share bandwidth, signal interference, software, or something else?
Has anyone who's had this problem found a solution?
Thanks.

You only do this through iTunes with a USB connection. Not sure why anyone would want to do this. bluetooth is terribly slow, a tiny fraction of the speed of USB 2

  • ITunes is skipping and mouse is jerky...plz help!

I am running iTunes 7.0.2.16 and I am having trouble!
The songs are skipping at the beginning of the track and it persists for 5 to 10 seconds into the song. Also, the mouse is jerky when the iTunes window is open and it is playing music. Another thing that I have noticed is that when a new song starts and I am working is another program like typing in this post and when typing a word doc. and typing in an IM window the cursor stops and I can type way ahead of it then all of a sudden it catches up...what's up with that?
I don't know what is causing it but I get tired of the trouble! I tried disabling dirctX like suggested in previous posts but that didn't work either....
    Please Help Me Out!!!
    Thanks in advance!

Ok, so I just thought that I'd open Windows Task Manager and take a look at CPU usage while playing iTunes. I find that with about 5 programs open and iTunes playing the CPU usage averages about 40% but around the end and beginning of the next song the CPU usage goes to 100% and iTunes starts skipping!
So, what is the remedy for this problem?

  • MacBook - bluetooth doesn't work and system will not shut down

    Hi all together!
I have a problem with my MacBook with the newest updated Tiger 10.4.11: First the bluetooth went off and after using the hardware test the system sayed "no hardware problems". After this I recreated my system with the original MacOS-CD. It shut down properly but the bluetooth still didn't work (Meanwhile I've bought one of that 10 EURO external mini bluetooth adapter and it works). After updating, it did not shut down again and showed that bad "circle turning string thing". Then it went blue and nothing else happened. Sometimes it shuts down regularly but the most times I have to use the button for 5s. I don't think that's healthy for the computer. It seems that no one of my friends knows why this happens.
    Greetings

Well, I can't guess for how long it has been like this. Don't take responsibility for something that isn't your fault, even if it is your friend's system. I wont. Should it be your fault I hope you tell us what measures you did trying to help.
Say what PSU you got. Model and name and specs. please.
The only case-to-motherboard connections you really need is  Power. Start with getting that right according to motherboard and case manuals. You will probably not be able to see the text printed on motherboard about pin setting. And guessing will be of little help here. If you know what case it is Internet is your friend.

  • MacBook bluetooth firmware problem (and solution)

This is for the benefit of anyone who experiences the same problem as me.
I updated several Macs today with the bluetooth firmware 2.0 update. All were OK but one MacBook, which would not restart at all, and gave 'three beep' tones on startup, indicating a problem with memory.
Couldn't get it to restart until I tried Cmd-Option-O-F (the boot into open firmware sequence). However, the MacBook concerned then restarted normally, i.e. not into open firmware. And it was fixed and restarted again normally.
Don't know why the above fixed my problem, but it did. Hope this helps someone else.

    HI David,
Glad it's not a memory issue as the three beeps usually indicates.
Did you by chance have a Bluetooth device turned on like a mouse near the MacBook when you did the update? Any Bluetooth device at all? That may have interfered.
Many laptop users use external mice and keyboards...

  • HT1338 Macbook Bluetooth paired but does not connect, how do i fix this?

    Hello,
I have a Rocketfish Bluetooth device that I use to stream music wirelessly from my Macbook to my stereo.  The macbook and bluetooth pair then connect but once i activate the connection fails.  I've used other devices (ipad) to connect with the Rocketfish and it works so the bluetooth device is funtional so the issue must be on my macbooks end.  Any thoughts on how i can get this to work?
    Thanks,

  • Iphone (iOS4.3) to macbook bluetooth fail

I can no longer connect my iPhone to my macbook, for tethering or otherwise. Reset network settings, reset both devices, resetup like 10 time. I keep getting this message on my iPhone after I setup, when i try to connect via my iPhone.
    'Connection Unsuccessful
"Paul's new macbook pro" is not supported. [Forget Device]'
also the internet tethering button is gone.

    paul Heinemann wrote:
ok, well maybe the tethering button should be goon, but bluetooth is still jacked
If you did not pay for the plan, you may have made it work one time, but your provider may have detected TCP and UDP ports not normally used by a phone, opened by your tethered computer. This may have disabled your tether capability.. Besides, paying for a tether plan not only increase your limit, but also open up all the other ports except port 25 to allow your computer to access the net better.

  • How to make Macbook bluetooth not always discoverable.

I'm running Yosemite on a Macbook Pro, I use bluetooth devices so need to keep bluetooth on, but don't want it to always be discoverable by other devices. My Macbook Pro, (which is named as my full name), shows up to anyone close by with a bluetooth device. No bueno.

Do you live in a set of flats or high-density housing? No one really uses bluetooth unless you know you've got nerds/computer experts in adjacent rooms.
If you're in a house you really don't have to worry about a thing as practical bluetooth range is only about 15feet or 4meters.
    Solutions:
Change your Mac's name (System Preferences > Sharing) to anything you want. I personally recommend names like NSA Surveillance, Mordor, Captain Kirk, Tardis, Jarvis, Skynet Server, HAL, etc.
Turn bluetooth off when you don't need it.
FYI, when two bluetooth devices are connected, the device is no longer in discoverable mode.
Also, when you close the system preferences window (settings on the iPhone) The device exits discovery mode.

  • IPhone to Macbook Bluetooth connects then after 2 seconds disconnects.

Well the subject line pretty much explains it all...
My macbook is able to detect my iPhone but the iPhone just keeps searching indefinitely, if I configure a new device I get the "passkey" screen on the iPhone, I click connect and it does for 2 seconds then disconnects. It adds my Macbook to the list of bluetooth devices but it never "sees" it...
I can see it on my System Preferences Bluetooth window, that the light goes from red-disconnected to green-connected when I tap on my Macbook in the list but after about 1 second the light goes red again...
    Any ideas?
ps: my iPhone and Macbook are about close enough.

    Guys,
Take a look in the Iphone console messages when I'm trying to connect my Iphone with my Mac Book Pro by Bluetooth.
I got the console messages using the Iphone configuration Utility 2.0 available in the Apple site.

  • MacBook Bluetooth Connection

Why does my iPod have better connection to my LG bluetooth speakers than my MacBook Pro? The iPod works flawlessly so I know it's not the speakers and I'm lucky if the MacBook has clear connection for more than 10 seconds. Both the devices are comfortably within range (no more than 15 ft). How can I make the bluetooth connection between my macbook and my speakers clearer and more reliable?

You cannot transfer data via BT between iDevices and computers or other devices. BT on the device is only useful with keyboards and headsets.

  • MacBook - Bluetooth - Phone (_Nokia 6021_) - GPRS - Internet

I've connected Nokia 6021 to my MacBook via BT. iSync worsks properly, but when I try to enable GPRS service, MacBook connects to the phone and disconnects, signalling error.
    Is this connection possible?

No, no emails with attachments get through, even if the attachment is only 1K in size.
And we're not using Vodafone's SMTP server, although when we tried that to see if our server was the problem (even though it is fine for hundreds of IMAP accounts from other clients on multiple platforms) results we the same.
We have several 6230s (and some 6230is) that work just fine. We have one 6021 that works just fine. All the others don't, and the only difference (as far as I can tell) is the firmware version.
I think that there is some funky bluetooth thing going on between the PocketPC PDA and the v04.10 6021s. Possibly it could be a fault with the PDA only, but as I said, the 6230s work fine.
