MacBook Bootcamp XP SP3 Bluetooth headset

hi folks, I have an MBP and have installed the latest windows xp sp3 via boot camp, all is well except that the internal bluetooth software doesnt seem to support bluetooth headsets!
I have tried downloading new Broadcomm/Widcomm drivers but they dont recognise the internal bluetooth hardware, they keep asking me to "insert bluetooth usb dongle" which i dont have...
has anyone had this problem or knows a solution?
many thx!
rgds

Why apple does not support widcomm drivers? I need to use my bluetooth headset under xp but can't install widcomm drivers. I succesfully installed bluesoleil but still couldn't make my headset work.

Bluetooth Headset Can Not Use on Windows XP
I had one but gave it up, Windows XP can not handle it, Vista can.
There are some hacky ways to install a different BlueTooth stack (not the one from MS):

  • Can't get MacBook Pro to recognize Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset

    Hello all,
I am trying to get my MacBook Pro to recognize a Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset. Bluetooth is ON and "discoverable" on my mac. When I go to system preferences and click "bluetooth", then "devices", the headset won't show up (it is turned ON). I tried clicking "Set up new device..." and won't work either.
Any tips on how i can make this work?
    Thanks a lot!

You need to put the H500 into discoverable mode:
    turn it off
hold "call button" for 5 seconds or until the sold blue circle light appears
now go do the bluetooth set up on your Mac....your H500 will show up and then just click thru continue....

  • Connected bluetooth headset to Macbook, but no audio

Hey. I successfully connected my Jabra bluetooth headset to my Macbook. In System Preferences -> Sound, I selected the headset device for both my input and output. The input seems to work, but the output does not work at all. For output, it says "The selected device has no output controls," and I cannot hear sound through it. Any suggestions?

I figured it out, I think. I guess there was a particular application it did not work for. Oh well, seems to work on what I need it to work for.

  • Bluetooth Headset for MacBook Pro

    Hi,
Got a new 15" MacBook Pro a few weeks ago and have been having issues with my Nokia bluetooth headset when using with Skype. It connects ok but there seems to be alot of static in the earpiece when in use. I understand that there are some issues with different headsets but if anyone can recommend a good bluetooth headset that will work well with Skype it would be a great help.
    Thanks,
    Paul

I have the Jaybird JB-200 bluetooth headphones. I have never used them with Skype, but I use them all of the time with my MacBook Pro and iPhone.

  • MacBook Air does not See a Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset

My MacBook Air does not "see" my Plantronics Voyager Pro + bluetooth headset as a discoverable bluetooth asset.  I have read on Apple and Plantronics forums that these two devices should be compatible, but so far no luck.  Anybody have any experience with this situation?

Turns out the Voyager Pro Bluetooth headset failed...exchanging it for a new one and should be GTG.  Thanks.

  • Bluetooth headset not working with 2008 Macbook!

    Hello,
I just got a new Macbook and love it!
But, the other day I tried out my Bluetooth headset and the A2DP headphone choice works great.
But when I change it to headset for use with skype I can hear the person but all they hear is weird repeating static. I listened to myself with skype call testing service and it sounds bad. I looked in preferences of sound and most of the sound bars are purple and moving as if
i am yelling into the microphone. I know it is not the headset for it works with my cellphone and eMac.
Anything I do to the headset doesn't solve this or even brake the pattern in the purple bars.
I turned off the headset when it was showing these bars and they kept going.
It is not the headset. The Macbook is capable of receiving files through Bluetooth so it is not the input of Bluetooth that is the problem.
Also, when I first started the microphone of the headset it was clear then after a couple seconds it started to drown out my voice then it was gone, replaced by shhhhhhchhh.
My headset is a Plantronics 590E.
    Thanks,
    MIBM

    Yes, thank you.
I was recently on Vacation and scheduled a Genius Bar visit and they tested my headset with another Macbook and same thing. I am very mad at Apple after finding this out. I had a feeling it was drivers or something but obviously could not test seeing as I only have one computer running Leopard, eMac runs Tiger. I actually have a third party bluetooth dongle working with my eMac. It is an Iogear dongle and on the box it says all features work with Mac and then I plugged it in and was unable to turn on/off and couldn't use headsets, then after hours of research I found a forum and downloaded a Broadcom driver and voila! it worked. That is also why I wasn't sure if it was a driver problem or hardware.
If anyone needs a tutorial and the driver for a broadcom bluetooth USB dongle I would be happy to help.
    Thanks,
    MIBM

  • Will Plantronics Voyager 510 bluetooth headset work with the latest macbook

i just received my latest new macbook last week and am considering buying the Plantronics Voyager 510 bluetooth headset for all voice communication over yahoo, ichat or skype (current version of skype has problems with leopard firewall, i hear skype guys are working it out to release a fixed version). So can someone tell me if they tried successfully using a bluetooth headset with the latest intel mac that ships with leopard?
I am posting this new question after having read about the skype bluetooth headset threads on which i could not figure out the answer!
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks, neil

Please see the "Voice Mail doesn't work with Bluetooth" item, as it would appear that some of the headsets do work, some don't. My Plantronics 520 no longer works with the Voice mail, but works with everything else. I have an old Motorola bluetooth (850) however, and it both works for calls, and is seen by the voice mail.
By the way, this reference is to stay tuned, as the issue has not been resolved, but there are plenty of responses there, so you're not alone with Plantronics compatibility. Hopefully volume of issues will get priority on software fix.

  • Bluetooth headset for Macbook

Hi, anybody knows any kind of bluetooth head set which is compatible with macbook for audio conference? Can you please share your knoledge, it will be very useful for me. Is it possible to do a wire free audio conference .
    Thanks in advance.

    1) I have two new MacBook Pro Unibody Aluminum Late 2008 models. I can replicate this problem on both units.
    2) I am using Skype 2.7.0.330.
    3) I've tested this with MacOS 10.5.5 and 10.5.6
If I set up a bluetooth Headset and use it with Skype, it degrades into illegible audio in about 5 minutes. Only a reboot of the Mac cures it. At worst, it even locks up the OS and the stack trace on the report sent to Apple shows some of the BT methods/stack as the culprit. A reboot of the Headset does not help restore legible audio.
I have tried three brands and models of BlueTooth Headsets:
    Plantronics 510
    Jabra BT 250v
    Motorola H350
All headsets exhibit the same problem. Problem can be replicated on both MBPs. This worked just fine on the old 2007 MBP.
I even went so far as to just play music through the BlueTooth headsets via iTunes. The audio starts chopping up around 5 minutes of use. Again, only a reboot of the Mac helps.

  • Turn macbook into bluetooth headset

just a bizarre thought I had in my home office.
Can I use bluetooth to turn my macbook pro speakers into a bluetooth headset and mic for my android phone. I just think this would be really handy. not expecting it to be possible but just though I'd throw it out there to see what people think
    Thanks in advance guys

Looking into this myself. Currently evaluating Phone Amego. You can download a trial version from the developer's website, and see it that meets your needs.

  • Bluetooth headset for MacBook pro and iPhone

Is there a recommended Bluetooth headset I can pair with my iPhone and MacBook pro and do things like:
    iPhone:
    Take call
    Listening to music and podcasts
    MacBook Pro:
    Listening to music and podcast
    Skype calls
    Google Voice calls
    Face time
    YouTube
    Etc...
At the same time it would need at least 8 hours of talk and or play time battery.
Has somebody built such thing? If not we should do a kickstarter...
    Thank you for your recommendations

    Try to look at: http://www.jabra.com/
The ones compatible with the iPhone work with Skype too on a Mac, I don't know about other services.

  • Bluetooth Headset Not Working in Bootcamp/Windows XP

I have a Plantronics Bluetooth headset that works fine in OSX, and is paired successfully in Windows XP. For some reason though, Skype doesn't recognize it, and it is not visible in the sound control panel. The latest Macintosh Drivers disk seems to have updated the Bluetooth driver, and I thought all of those issues were resolved. Anyone know what the problem could be here?
    Thanks.

Late arrival. I posted re this topic about a year ago, to no avail. Then - 10.5.2 - the youtube, etc. files froze along with no audio via bluetooth, now (10.5.7) the video plays and only the audio stops!
This is not 'a Safari problem', it is a bluetooth/Mac/Flash problem that is ultimately only going to be sorted by Apple, I fear. And, I fear, it is not much of a priority for them while all their talent is still puzzling over the Java security problems...
You could try looking at this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6384201
but nothing in it helped me, alas.
    This:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2178?viewlocale=en_US
doesn't work with my headset (and probably works with none) either. Anybody know a hack that will allow changes to audio sampling rates offered in the Audio MIDI Setup app??
Or any other solution? A number of us would be very grateful!

  • How do you easily switch Bluetooth headset between iPhone and MacBook Air

I Have a Bluetooth headset that can pair between my mac and my iPhone individually.  However I only want my phone when I'm out and when I get home, id like to click the Mac and pair the headset without having to set the Bluetooth into the "searching mode".
Wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

For this to work the Drafts Mailbox should be set to live on the server, not locally.
