Macbook BURNS up if I open any game!?

Specs - 8GB RAM | 2.6 GHz i5 | 256GB SSD
Issue - Overheating FAST
I bought this MBP around 3 days ago and it was running perfectly, its a truly amazing machine. However, I downloaded a game off the app store called "Extreme Landings", after running it for about 10 minutes the fans went mental and I was barely able to touch the strip of aluminium next to the fans... I then deleted the app and attempted to download "League of Legends", it barely reached 17% download before the fans went crazy again and the laptop almost burst into flames.
I don't really game on this and I don't intend to, but I would assume that the fans shouldn't spin faster than tornadoes while downloading something like a game?
What should I do?!?

Games very often are resource intensive applications and will indeed stress the CPU/GPU causing heat and forcing the fans to speed up in order to dissipate that heat. This actually is normal and expected results. It becomes a question if the heat level is withing acceptable levels. Pushed high enough, there are thermal protection circuits that will shut the MBP due to heat before it commits Hari Kari.
You might download and install iStat menus and monitor the temperatures that are obtained at various CPU/GPU loads:

You may want to take a look at the restrictions section. Go to the settings app and pick general, restrictions. If that doesn't work
Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

Since I upgraded to OS X 10.9, none of my games will play. I also get an error while starting VLC. The message that I receive is "video hardware acceleration required". "Video hardware acceleration is currently disabled due to safe mode operation or a driver error. Please ensure that you have a working openGL hardware renderer and try again. All of these games and apps worked perfectly before the upgrade. Please help!

In my case this was resolved by turning off display mirroring. It seems that something in Mavericks does not pick up the graphics card correctly when display mirroring is turned on.

To delete any type of app you need to open the Finder window and highlight the app you want to delete by moving it to the trash. Empty the trash and it's gone. There are some Apple provided apps that cannot be deleted but you should not have any issue with the games.
As for cleaners, I personally don't use them but the 911 and Mackeeper are very popular and I hear work pretty well with Macs.

Dear Jean:
It sounds like you are trying to get your external monitor to act as the primary viewing screen. For example it would have your Doc, Icons, Etc. In order to make the external monitor the primary screen you have to:
Open System Preferences.
Choose the Displays Icon
There will be several tabs to choose from pick Arrangement
Drag the toolbar to desired display

Perhaps the PDF files are corrupted.
Hit the command key and spacebar, a blue Spotlight in the upper right hand corner appears, now type Preview and press return on the Preview program.
Now you can try opening the PDF's from the file menu and see what's going on.
If they are corrupted, perhaps they are trojans from your Windows PC or gotten from a bad location online.
Download the free ClamXav and run a scan on the possibly infected folder.

That's not consistent with what you wrote in your first message. I can't help you unless I know what's going on. Either you do, or do not, have backups of all the data you want to keep. If you do not, then the first thing you need to do is back up those files. It makes zero sense to do anything else. In order to back up, you'll need either of two things: another Mac, in working order, with a FireWire port and enough space on its internal drive to hold your files; or an external drive, also with enough space.
On the other hand, if you do have backups, or if you simply don't care about any of the data, then the solution to your problem may be quite simple. All you have to do is boot from your installation disc (your profile says you're running Mac OS 10.5), erase your internal drive, reinstall the Mac OS, then restore your data from backup. You will need to be selective in restoring software, because incompatible software may be what caused the issue.
But it's also possible that you have a hardware failure, in which case you can't get your computer working again until it's repaired.

I recently installed Norton AntiVirus and think it may have changed a setting that I couldn't find. I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help. Every time I open Safari, iTunes or any other program that tries to connect to the Internet, it crashes. Strangely enough, Skype still works, but nothing else.

I have tried erasing plists, and all the standard troubleshooting, ie resetting modem, restarting computer, reloading Safari from disk.

Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.

Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.

I uninstalled Norton and it didn't help.
To properly uninstall Norton software follow these instructions - Locate Symantic Solutions folder inside the Applications folder at the root level of your HD, launch the Symantec Uninstaller application, select the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate, Norton AntiVirus & Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect entries and click the Uninstall button.
Confirm your decision when prompted and then enter your administrator password in the space provided.
Retart your computer & Norton should be gone for good.
If the above does not work, download a copy of Symantec’s RemoveSymantecMacFiles removal utility. This utility will launch Terminal & remove the Norton components.

You don't open games from within Game Center. It's meant for giving you your game stats, achievements, progress, etc. You run the game from it's icon. If the game is Game Center capable/enabled, the game itself will prompt you to login where it will keep track of your progress and achievements.
Also, make sure you are signed in to Game Center with your credentials...If the game itself doesn't prompt or bring up Game Center, just tap on Game Center's icon or do it from Settings>Game Center.

iOS apps will not open in iTunes. iTunes will sync your downloaded apps to your iOS devices (iPhone or iPad) only.
1. Login into your iTunes account
2. Authorize your Macbook Air
3. Download all your purchased apps to iTunes
4. Sync with your iPhone.
