  • My iPhone and my iPad are connected by wi-fi, but I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC. What can I do?

Hallo, thank you for trying to help. Here is my problem:
In the past, the airprint was possible without problems from iPhone 4 and iPad 2. Since today it doesn't work anymore. My iPhone 4 and my iPad 2 is connected by wi-fi and I can serve in the internet. But I can't print on HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. On the other hand, I can print over wi-fi from PC.
There are low ink-levels and therefore a message comes to indicate this by printing from PC. iPhone and iPad are accepting the print order without any messages after, but does't excecute the print.
    What can I do?

    Hey helmut,
You can also try the ePrint method listed here if you can't get AirPrint working:

  • How do i get my nokia n8 to print to my officejet pro 8500a?

    Hello
Can anyone tell me how to get my Nokia N8 mobile phone to print a photo using HP Officejet Pro 8500A?
I have got the wireless connection enabled, but when I select the photo on the phone and click on Print, via Bluetooth connection, the Printer can't be found.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

The Officejet 8500a does not support bluetooth, but you can download an app called HP iPrint Photo and use that, here is a link with information on this app.

  • Permanently Disable Wireless - HP Officejet Pro 8500A

    Hello
I have recently bought an Officejet Pro 8500A and would like to know if there is any way to permanently disable the wireless.  The device is to be used in an area that is sensative to radio interferance, and although the wireless can be disabled through the touch screen settings, there is still a risk that someone could come along and turn it on.
Would it be relatively straight forward to remove or disable the wireless card without affecting the other functions of the device?
    Any suggestions much appreciated, thanks!

Sorted.  Removed the back cover, unplugged and removed the wireless card and put it back together.  Took 10 mins and the rest of the functions work as before.

  • Problem printing wirelessly with OfficeJet Pro 8600 on a Macbook Pro running OS 10.7.4

I just bought this printer. Setup when perfect, my Mac sees it and when I print, it starts fine, until... it looses contact.
I re-installed everything twice, and I even got the latest installer from HP's web site.
ePrint works fine, so I know docs make their way to the printer.
The router is a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router, model WRT160Nv2, with firmware v2.0.02
    Please help!!!
I even make a clip showing the problem.... http://youtu.be/Qlep8ZK8Dv0

Verify the router is on the latest firmware.  If not, upgrade it.
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 1...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
You should use WPA2-AES and reset your TV and all your other wireless devices as it will ask for a new password/paraphrase.
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • Printing wirelessly on officejet pro 8600 plus

I have recently purchased an e printer (Officejet pro 8600 plus).  I have set it up on my laptop as well as mobile phone.  I have printed photos from my phone, emails from my phone, emails from my laptop, word documents and excel documents from my laptop.  It will only print sometimes.  I think it may have to do with the printer going to sleep.  On my mobile phone, I get a message saying ePrint job delayed  because the printer is turned OFF or not connected to Internet.  Well, it is on.  When I actually go to the room where the printer is located, if I touch the screen and press Apps, sometimes, the printer says "connection error", unable to connect to the server.  Other times when I have done this, it does make the connection.  It seems that if I wake up the printer, I can eventually get something to print.  But that defeats my purpose of the wireless capability.  Can you help?

I will need some more information in order to help out. What make and model of router do you have?  Does it ever  fail regular wireless jobs sent from the computer to the printer? Or is it just ePrint jobs that it fails/delays? Also what is the IP address for the printer?

  • Can't uninstall software on Officejet Pro 8500A Plus

Googled this problem and found identical problem dealt with on this Forum however, now that I am logged into the Forum, the HP Search facility cannot find that same problem (what ?).  The solution given was to download the "HP Officejet Pro Software and Driver Removal Utility" this being a url, but when I click on this url, the HP web site says it cannot be found (what again ?).
I have had this problem for a couple of years having failed to resolve it in talking to HP support.  My cable connection to the HP printer is non-functional because of this HP printer software problem but as I can't uninstall the software to re-install it, I was about to throw away the printer. By chance, I discovered that the wireless connection still works, but without any of the bells and whistles provided by the HP printer software.  Now even the wireless connection is flakey and I have to "Connect" and "Disconnect" the printer and router in turn as these 2 devices seem to conflict on the wi-fi network.  Now almost impossible to get the HP printer to print queued items even when I try this fix.
From my experience, HP is the only company that makes software that cannot be uninstalled or even provide a fix for this situation.  I would be unlikely to buy another HP product for this reason.

  • Printing to my OfficeJet Pro 8500A Plus has stopped entirely

Suddenly my printer has stopped working for everyone.  I have it set up to do use wireless connectivity.  It was working fine on Friday, but suddenly stopped working for everyone.  The only way to print anything at all is to submit something to the queue and reboot that PC.  That is completely stupid and of course incredibly inconvenient.  I've printed a test page; works fine.  I've downloaded and installed the HP Print and Scan Doctor 2.0, ran it and as far as it is concerned, everything is fine.  I shut down the printer and turned it back on, and that hasn't helped at all
What is wrong?  Why has it stopped working?  Is it normal for HP printers to just stop working suddenly?  Should I give up and purchasing any HP products at all, because this sort of things has happened before with every HP printer I have ever owned.

I've just done as you requested, and gone to the Web Services Setup Menu.  I activated the Web Services Setup and got to the Product Updates.  There were no updates available for my OfficeHet Pro 8500A Plus.
As to the other things, I've already been through this with HP Technical support, yesterday I believe or perhaps the day before.  I was on the phone with them for a little over an hour and a half.  They had me uninstall the software and drivers for my desktop PCs and downloaded the latest software for my printer from HP's website.  I've installed it on both desktop PCs (at this point I haven't tried installing it on any of the laptops, but they aren't often used for printing, I figured I could do that later when the need arrised).  HP Tech support, directing me as to what to do, had me reset the printer entirely, and reinitialized it to factory settings.  This seemed to work, but only for a little while.  I was able to print 2 jobs, and then it stopped working entirely from my desktop PC.  I then uninstalled the older software/drivers from my wife's PC and installed the new software that HP tech support had me download onto her machine.  It never printed anything at all from her PC, even though she has the latest software.
And now to make this even more interesting, I've discovered that the printer will not copy anything at all.  I had a page from a document I need to make a copy of, I put it into the printer's slot to make a copy, it recognized the paper being there to copy, asked me if I wanted to make a black copy of color (I choose black), and then pressed the copy.  And then that was it.  It wouldn't make a copy.  It sat there telling me it was copying the page (only 1 page), but never did anything more with it.  After waiting 10 minutes I just gave up trying to copy the page.  This was a simple copy job, 1 page, 1 side, black; and it couldn't do that.  No PC or anything else was involved; this was all and only the printer, and it couldn't do it.
Frankly, at this point I think the printer, for whatever reason, isn't working at all.

  • Since upgrading to Yosemite I can't scan wirelessly with Officejet Pro 8600

When I plug  USB from printer to macbook pro In can scan and print. But wirelessly I have lost the option to scan.
There is no longer a scan button on the Printer tab.
I have downloaded driver from HP but when i go to install it says not compatible.
I've removed printer and reinstalled it - no good.

  • W7 PCs on router LAN port can not find Wireless connected OJ Pro 8500A Plus following router upgrade

My Broadband Supplier has replaced my internet router with a new one with dual N band Wireless and GigE LAN ports. The 8500A printer has been successfully WPA wirelessly connected and works fine with a wireless connected Sony windows 7 laptop and Apple devices.  However neither of the Dell LAN connected windows 7 desktop PCs or the same Sony laptop when connected to a LAN port on the router can find the printer.  I have tried reinstalling the printer software with the latest version from the HP site OJ8500_A910_1315 and the installation fails as network environment checker can not find the printer. I have run the HP network diagnostics with both firewalls in the PC and router disabled with no success. The LAN itself seems to be working OK as the PCs can see each other, exchange files and and can access the internet.  The router has been checked by the broadband supplier technical uupport.  The printer is visible as a network connected device in Windows explorer so you would expect the HP software to see it. Is the only option to fix the printers IP address and use that in the installion procedure or are there other settings I can alter to get the HP network environment checker to work properly?  Thoughts would be appreciated.

In the router settings look for "wireless isolation", "AP isolation" or the like and make sure it is DISABLED.  This setting disables communication between the wired and wireless clients.

  • Printing on hp officejet pro 8500a plus, normal paper works, xmas paper is offset down and over 1"

I am printing a xmas letter, and it works fine on plain white paper, but when using the xmas letterhead, the printing is lower on the sheet by about 1 " and indented another 1".  Printing from MS word 2007, using PC with windows 7.  When print is sent, sounds like paper feeding properly, no unusual sounds like it is stuck.  Xmas letterhead appears to be just a little lighter that the normal 20lb white paper I use.  Any thoughts??

I am sorry that no one saw this to respond sooner, but I am going to see if there is anything I can do to help.
First, we are going to try to do a specific type of reset. What I want you to do is open the printer and remove the ink cartridges as well as the print head from the machine. The print head should have a lever on the right-hand side that will lift up to release it.
Once these are all removed from the machine, unplug the printer from both the back of the unit and the wall outlet for thirty seconds. Then plug the machine back in and wait for the error message for a missing/damaged printhead. Now replace the pinthead in the machine and close the top. When the machine indicates that the ink cartridges are likewise missing/damaged, replace those too in the machine.
Here, if you all goes well, the machine should re-enter its diagnostics and initialization.
Additionally, here is a little information on resets: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Printing-Questions/Printer-Resets-What-You-Should-Know/m-p/234739...

  • Printing trouble. hp officejet pro 8500A

I'll try to be brief. Have had this printer two years with no issues. It started not printing properly. some times I would get error meseges on computer saying the printer was not communicating, or not responding, or not  "on"...also error msgs saying nothing more than" printing error". as far as what is happening, sometimes i would get aprox half the information on the page then the rest is blank, sometimes i just would get black blurry lines, or a combination of partial printing, then black bluury lines. also, sometimes, the printer would repeatedly print the same job, ie 1 page, but would print 30 sheets, none of which were fully printed. my first thought was it was a memory issue as my laptop 's memory was quite full (vista). have now tried new laptop, windows 8.1, same exact results. have a wireless connection....when i ran diagnostic, all wireless issues were good. hp app on windows 8.1, printed perfect test page, as does if print from printer it self(test page). also, cloud printing seems to work. so, only when trying to print frim either laptop, email, or word docs do i have issues. yes, i have tried turning off antivirus, same results.
HELP....also have tried hard reset, also reset wireless router, and computers...

    Hi tdar66,
Did you download the driver for Windows 8 from the HP website?
It does sound like a commuication problem.  Did the printer or router get moved?  If you have an Ethernet cable, you could try connecting the printer to the router using that.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)

I'm thinking about getting a MacBook...would the "HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus e-All-in-One (A901g)" work well with this and for what i need?
I need an All-in-One...I have an iPhone, so I would like the Air-Print feature...and since I might be getting the MacBook, I would like a printer that is wireless. I also want something that is good for printing quality pictures.
It appears this printer has everything i am looking for, but it doesnt say anything about being wireless...does anyone know if it is or not?? if not, can anyone recommend a printer for what i am looking for?
    thanks

Also is this printer quiet? I am considering this for a library setting, and don't need a noisy printer! Thanks.
