Macbook CD2 too much contrast?

Hey all, I just sold my white Macbook for a Black Macbook CD2. One difference I have noticed is the display in the CD2 models (I'm on my second in a week...) seem washed out...like too much contrast...but there is no contrast adjustment I can find. Any thoughts?? Maybe the screen is just brighter then the previous models?

There is a color calibration in System Prefs.
Go to System Preferences.
Go to "Displays" icon
Select Color Tab at the top
I put all my Mac's on the PC/Television Color calibration. The screen seems to have more contrast. To get basic PC/Television Color below are the steps (note: you are just making another profile, you can always got back to the standard Mac LCD colorization)
Select Calibrate Option to the right
Select continue
Select 2.2 for PC and Television Color
Select continue for Target White Point
Name the profile

  • Photshop Elements 9 Interface has too much contrast

Hi.  I like the new version 9.  But I don't like the interface.  Why did they change it.  It was great in Photoshop Elements 7.  And they even had a option to adjust the appearance option.  Not now though.  To me it has too much contrast.  Why did they have to leave out that option.  The new interface is too bright and too dark.  Oh well.  I guess I will have to get use to it.  I wish CS4 had a interface like Photoshop 7.  Here's a screenshot of Photoshop 7.

Hi.  I will get the new version.  But I just wish it could have the option to change the interface like Elements 7.  The best looking version in my opinion.  They should have made CS5 look like Elements 7 too.  Black interface is the new thing.  Not dull dingy gray like CS5 is.  It looks like the Windows XP classic themes.  Boring.  I like subtle black like beautiful Elements 7.

  • Satellite A50-543, too much contrast

    Hi,
    I bought an A50-543 yesterday.
After starting the Notebook, Ive saw that the machine has too much contrast.
I changed the Gamma Correction Settings.
But in the default settings, the machine has to much contrast.
We couldnt compare this Notebook with another one from the same Series, cause we dont have another one !
The display is too brilliant but if I adjust the Gamma Settings, all is ok.
I think thats the Picture has to be normal without changing the Gamma Settings.
What do you think, is this Normal or not ?
    Regards

    Hi,
in my opinion you could try to compare two drivers.
At first deinstall the actual driver, then install the original graphic driver from the tools&utilities CD, run the system for a test and remember the contrast.
After that deinstall the driver and install the newest driver for your graphic card from https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
Install this and compare the contrast to the orinigal driver before!
At every driver install try the standard default installation routine!.
Try it, compare it and kepp me posted!

  • Too much contrast

Don't know if this fits here but...
Suddenly, my Powerbook's LCD display has changed and shows so much contrast that I cant see grays and there is too much whites. I cant correct this with the brightness control or the "Calibration: in Displays. Tried restarting several times, but looks same. Is this a hardware or software problem? Any suggestions welcome...

Plot thickens...in an effort to fix the contrast problem, we replaced the 256MB RAM module with a 512MB module. It froze on boot twice, then successfully booted but only showed a 256MB module. We exchanged the memory for new memory, and this time it always froze or kernel paniced during boot.
I returned the original 256MB RAM module, and we are at least back to where we were -- system works, but too much contrast.
I bought PC133 RAM as described on Apple's site. Hm. Time to write off this old iBook?

  • White MacBook takes too much time to boot up

    Hi there.
I got the topcase(keyboard) of my MacBook repaired. (White MacBook 2006) and after that it takes nearly 7 up to 10 seconds after pressing the power button that I first see apple logo and it boots up.
I'm not sure but seems like that detecting the hardwares take too much time .
    any solution?
    PS: I'm running Snow Leopard(10.6.2)

OK, 32 seconds is not good. I don't think it has anything to do with a keyboard repair. You need to try a little maintenance: Reset Pram - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
    Repair Permissions - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1452
Run Disk Utility >applications>utilities>disk utilities>verify disk
How much free space do you have on your HD: Right click on HD icon and select "get info" in the drop down menu (if you don't have right click capabilities, highlight your HD icon, go file in the Apple menu, and select "get info" in the drop down menu. Let us know your results.
Yes PRAM was the the problem, I've already tried it from this thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2303507&tstart=0
by the way thank you .

  • Macbook using too much memory

    Hi guys,
Weirdly my macbook pro (mid 2012 model) is using too much ram, core i5, 4 gb ram
Take a look at this screenshot...
While I took this screen, I was using only chrome (4 tabs), itunes (wasn't playing anything), and utorrent, nothing else!
I have a friend who has a Macbook Air 13.3" and with VM, CAD software, music playing, safari, his macbook uses 3.80 gb (same as me without VM)
I've done a clean install of the OSX 10.9.2 (to remove previous mountain lion files etc), my computer even frozen once, had to manually turn it off...
Does anyone know what can I do? Thinking about buying buying 2 modules of 4 gb but is there another solution besides buying more ram? This laptop isn't 1 year old =/
    Thank you guys!

I do not see any problems with the Activity Monitor data in regards to RAM.  As I see it, there are no Swaps and the Wired RAM is normal in my estimation.
As an aside, i suggest that you try another browser as I alluded to you before.  Also I would get rid of the torrent application.  They are often an invitation to malware or trojans.
Comparing your friends MBA and your MBP is still not an Apple to Apple situation.  (pun intended)  The Air has ssd storage, your Pro does not which will distort the results.  In addition you would have to compare them with EXACTLY the same criteria.  Doing that is not worth the effort.
Unless you are having performance issues there is no cause for alarm.
Do consider increasing it to 8 GB if the bank account allows.  The new OSXs seem happier with that amount.
    Ciao.

  • MacBook spends too much time loading

Whether its the internet loading advertisements (videos or inter-actives), or opening larger applications, my macbook always seems to freeze up, either for a few seconds or minutes to unexpectedly quitting the program. Does anyone know if this strictly has to do with RAM, or maybe cookies?

  • White pixels and too much contrast on new touch

    hi all!
i got a new touch today. i allready have one but this one i won in a contest. anyway, when after having synced over alot of content i started noticing som strange things about the screen. first of all, some colors looks washed out and too bright. it has nothing to do with the settings since i allways had my old one on full brightness and it never looked like this.
then i when i looked closer at the screen i saw alot of white pixels that disapeared and apeared depending on how i hold the touch. here is a pic of the pixels (note that the screen is not this bright, my cam just made it like that for some reason):
    http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/8443/shiiiit012copyqv1.png
so is this what people call dead pixels? would i get a new touch if i send it to apple you think? or are there anything els i could do? we dont have any official apple stores where i live. thanks alot in advance!

Did you get this problem fixed? I have only had my ipod touch for about 30 days and it too lost it's contrast. It now looks white washed, with little contrast. There is no true black, white or gray, and the colors seemed washed out. I am considering simply taking it in for repair. What did you do? Thanks for any information you can provide.

  • My screen has too much contrast

There is something wrong with my screen and it is hard to describe. The contrast or brightness is off and I have tried callibrating it using the color calibrator at least 100 times and it does not change it. When i turn my computer on, for the first 5 seconds or so it has normal color but then it goes back to this messed up brightness or something and i just need it to go back to normal somehow. Is there any way i can just go to restore default settings or something? Anything will help.

Just had to reply as well. I had the exact same problem as Jenny after my 16-month old son got ahold of the keyboard. It was driving me crazy! Your fix solved it right away. Thank you sooo much.

  • Calibrated, but too much contrast? Cinema Display 30"

    Hello,
I have a 30" Cinema Display at work an love it, but things have started to go a bit strange and I'm afraid something is off.
When I calibrate it (using apples built in tool) I have to peg the first two steps almost all the way to the bottom to get the apple logo to vanish, and after completing the calibration everything is VERY high contrast.
The logos in the doc are so contrasty and dark they are practically screaming!
I am using the monitor for processing images for print, so I'm really afraid I'm going to make some real mistakes here. I normally use apple's standard gamma, but switched to native because the image is a little lighter.
I'm hoping for some suggestions or advice, I'm at a loss!
    Thanks for your help!

Go into System Preferences/Universal Access and, under the Seeing tab, check that the Contrast slider is all the way to the left (Normal).

  • Blue display or too much contrast

after 6 months happy usage, my Ipad2 has suddenly taken on a very blue tint. It looks like the contrast setting has been turned way up. I have fiddled with the brightness settings and the accessibility setting ie white on black, but no luck. I have even updated to IO6 hoping that would fix the problem

Make an appointment at your local apple store and have them take a look at it.

  • I cleaned my Macbook pro too much and I think it's damaged.

How do I get rid of streak marks that are really bothering me?

Pledge will leave residue if you use it often.
You need to find a cleaning agent that can remove the Pledge.
    Diluted Windex should work.
But BE CAREFUL as Windex and other glass cleaners contain ammonia and can damage your computer if not used properly.

  • Can too much memory lead to a kernel panic on a MacBook Pro? specs 2.4GHz intel core i7 16GB DDR3 RAM   late2011..My laptop began suffering from kernel panics 3 mos ago first noticed using public wifi. Gone thru apple support all the way to engineers

Can too much RAM memory in a late 2011 model macbook pro lead to kernel panic? That is what I was told by a senior supervisor from apple support who troubleshot this issue.First noticed this problem in Dec 2014 while using a private wifi at a relative's home. Did not occur again until Feb1 using a public wifi at a hotel. Never happened on my private wifi network until last night  attempting to use airplay. ( have used airplay before without issue). Late 2011 MacBook Pro running 10.9.5; 2.4 GHz Intel core i7, 16 GB DDR3,AMD Radeon HD 6770m 1024 MB graphic card.  The laptop came with 8GB RAM and I installed 8 GB about 2 years ago for some reason I cannot remember... probably because I thought the system was slowing down a little. I know that sounds silly. I do not run multiple programs at a time except I leave 6-8 website tabs open simultaneously. I don't photo or video edit.  I would describe my use as "light"  based on reading these blogs.I had purchased apple support and spent hours on the phone with them in early Feb moving up through support  and senior support to sending logs to the "engineers." Of course lots of things were done some of which I am sorry to report I cannot recall their technical definitions. Deleted  3rd party apps/programs; re-worked start up menu; re-installed operating system; reset " this, that and the other" using acrobatic simultaneous key strokes both in and out of safe mode..Anyway the results from the engineers came back and they suggested that if it happened again I was to remove the 8GB of RAM I had installed as the system was getting confused as to which chip to use.( that is my interpretation of what was said..prob dumbed down for me)...Anyway 1 day after these pronouncements came down I read that Apple had agreed to fix  graphics cards in some late model 2011 MBPs. I felt this was unlikely to be the issue  given all that had been done including an extended hardware test but called the Senior Support Supervisor I was working with to ask him to make sure. He never phoned me back. Should I go to the trouble of removing 8GB of RAM from my laptop? Of course I will try it as the alternative is a new computer.Blogs read that this model can support 16GB but Apple didn't test for it. Senior Supervisor claims this is my trouble.  Does that make sense?  Not to me....but it is clear to all my level of knowledge.  Can a malfunctioning graphics card be missed by an extended hardware test? I appreciate comments.

The RAM needs specs as shown below.
    Maximum Memory
16 GB (Actual) 8 GB (Apple)
    Memory Slots
    2 - 204-pin PC-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
