Macbook connection to aquos sharp

Hello,
I have tried connecting my Macbook to my sharp aquos tv via DVI and eventhough my mac picks up the sharp, there is no image on the tv.  I have changed resolutions, restarted, tried changing the analog pc to digital pc but for some reason it is not allowing me to.  Any ideas?
Thanks.

I'm having the same problem.
Have tried with a MacBook and MacBook Pro, one running Snow Leopard and the other running Tiger.
MacBook connections: Mini DVI to DVI adapter to DVI cable with VGA adapter to Vivitek projector.
MBP connections: DVI cable with VGA adapter to projector
Both computers recognize projector in displays preferences. Still no signal.
Have tried various displays settings.
Have downloaded DVI to VGA firmware update from Apple-no good for me probably because my adapter is Mini DVI to DVI-stupid system-thanks Apple!
Have tried third party download "SwitchResX" that allows preferences to be customized in the "displays" preferences panel. No signal, no luck.
Have spoken with Apple Care-clueless-not willing to take any responsibility for this problem even after I tell them of the thousands of posts on this site relating to this problem.
Have spoken with Vivitek-even more clueless
Should I purchase the $19 Mini DVI to VGA adapter? Stupid system-thanks Apple!
Should I return my projector, both of my Macs, and buy a PC?
I just want the projector to work. Isn't anything plug and go?

What cable/adapter do I need to connect my MacBook Pro to a Sharp Aquos TV?
I want to watch videos on youtube or read articles on my laptop, and I want a cable/adapter that will hook up the Macbook to the TV and display the webpage that is on the laptop.

Of course it doesn't. But you can buy an adaptor from HDMI to the Mini-DisplayPort port on the computer.

Can anyone recommend which cables I need to connect a Macbook to a Sharp PG-M15X Projector please?
I've tried all sorts of mini DVI, DVI and VGA combinations and it still says 'No Signal'. I've looked on countless forums and they all seem to contradict each other!

I just bought the new MacBook Air a few days ago and my Internet connection is so slow. My iPhone's connection works fine when connected to the wifi but the MacBook connects for a few seconds then drops completely. What do I do? I tried connecting it to my phone's hotspot and it works perfectly. I'm a new Mac user so I have no idea what to do. I have Comcast xfinity cable and Internet. Thanks for the help.

  • I have a unknown person's macbook connected to my network. How do I remove it?

I have an unknown person's macbook connected to my computer as a "shared" directory.  How can I remove it?  i'm signed in as my computer's administrator, but it says I don't have sufficient permissions to remove it...

    Good suggestion, with an addendum.
If your Router supports WPA, please use that instead of WEP. WEP is known to be insecure, it can be cracked by an experienced person in just a few minutes using network analysis tools.
    Go WPA instead

  • TS1398 My MacBook connects happily to a wifi system but my iPad doesn't altho it identifies the network. Help please

Cannot connect to an existing (and workin) wifi system. My MacBook connects no problem!

You have the latest iOS 5.1.1 on your iPad?
Reset your modem/router (turn off power for some minutes)
On your iPad go to Settings, General > Reset > Reset all settings.
Then Keep pressed the Powerbutton and the Homebutton at the same time until you see the Apple logo in your screen.
Then turn power on on modem/router.
Sometimes it can be the security on your router, be sure it is WPA2-AES.

I'm sick of my macbook connecting to my neighbour's BTFON network EVERY TIME I START MY MAC even though I have my own network set up and "remembered".
Can i tell my mac to ignore their INFURIATING network?

BTFon is a rather curious wi-fi sharing arrangement whereby the BT customer is given a FON router and shares his/her connection with all and sundry nearby.
The incentive being that, when on the road the BTFON customer is afforded the same access to other users' BTFON hotspot.
Can't help with the original question I'm afraid - just thought you aught to know what is at least!

  • Airport Utility on iphone ipad ios8 often shows internet disconnected while macbook connects just fine

Hi, I need help with this problem that just arose after updating my devices (iphone 5 and ipad air) to ios8.
Every now and then the internet disconnects, and in Airport Utility the Internet is shown disconnected (orange bar), while it is perfectly fine both on the motorola modem and AirPort TC.
My MacBoook and Android devices can connect smoothly to the internet and the only devices affected by this problem are my iPhone and iPad. All the iOS and firmware are most recent ones.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steven Antonius

Ok, thanks for clarifying that for me. Currently, I am unaware of any issues with OS X 10.8.x and the earlier 802.11b/g AirPorts or with them conflicting with earlier OS X Macs.
If you temporarily power-off the iMac can the MacBook connect now? If so, try setting the Radio Mode on the Express to: "802.11g only." By default, it is set at: "802.11b/g compatible." Verify that the MacBook can still connect. Once verified, power-down the MacBook. Now power-up the iMac. Verify that it can connect. Leave it powered on. Finally power-up the MacBook. Can it connect now?

  • Macbook connects, but iMac doesn't

My AX is plugged directly into the cable modem. My MacBook connects fine when I have my AX set to Bridge Mode in the Airport Utility. But my iMac doesn't connect. Instead, the status in the iMac's Network Prefs just says "Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may no be able to connect to the Internet."
If I change the Airport Utility setting to "Share a public IP address" it shows that two clients are connected, and both the iMac and MacBook network prefs show "AirPort is connected to CowPie and has the IP address 10.0.1.x" But neither computer connects to the internet.
I've reset the modem and the AirPort Express multiple times, as well as reset the AX to factory mode and recreated the network in AirPort Utility; no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, even when I get the MacBook to connect, the AX still flashes amber.

Some cable modems have a small internal battery which must be removed to completely reset the cable modem.
Sometimes cable modems must be left for hours or even overnight to reset the equipment back at the ISP.
Sometimes ISPs record the MAC address of your computer and will only allow that device to connect. If that is the case you would need to give them the Ethernet MAC address of the AirPort Express (AX).

  • Macbook Connectivity Issues -- Ongoing

I have had problems with my girlfriends Macbook since she bought it. It connects to my wireless network (which has two other computers on it, one of them being my Powerbook G4, it also has an airport express connected). My Powerbook G4 has never had an issue, it can connect to all websites, it can connect and play music through the airport express and it can connect to other computers on the same network. Her Macbook connects to the router, can access most internet sites, it cannot connect to the airport express (it never has) it just attempts to connect but never does, also it can not connect to any other computer on the network. HOWEVER, everything works as it should (including the airport express) when I connect her computer to the router via an ethernet cable.. It has been to the apple store once already for this issue, they replaced the airport card. But it never fixed anything. In the past few days it will no longer to connect to most internet sites, including apple.com. It does connect to google.com and many others, but for some reason some of her more commonly used sites no longer respond. I can try it on her computer and get "Connection Timed Out", walk over to my Powerbook and connect to the site just fine. Both her Macbook and my Powerbook are running 10.5.6, both are fully updated. I would appreciate anyones help with this, I know what I am doing, have done everything I can think of to this computer to get it to work (including reinstalls, changing router settings, everything..).
    EDIT
forgot to mention this problem also occurs on other wireless networks, not just mine. So I know its not my network/router.

I have this problem sometimes. Usually I try some combination of restarting the computer and/or restarting the wireless router. One time I had to do a hard reset of the router to make it work.

  • Can iCloud or Apple can pull the last IP address that my stolen Macbook connected to before it locked?  Thanks for any help!

My Macbook was stolen.  I noticed the following morning that it was locked, so I 'clicked' play sound, and erase at next internet connection.  I received notice that it played the sound, but not that it has erased.  Wondering if Apple and/or iCloud tracks the last IP address that my stolen macbook connected to the internet.  Thanks for any help!

    Hi SteveC619,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I’m sorry to hear about your Mac. If you’ve erased the Mac, all requests for notifications when it is online will be cancelled. Your next best step may be to report the property as lost or stolen with your local law enforcement. For more information, see the following resource:
If your Mac is lost or stolen - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT6318
What if my Mac is shut down or offline?
If your Mac is turned off or offline, you can still use Find My Mac to request a notification when it’s located, or lock or erase your Mac remotely. The next time your Mac is online, the actions take effect. If you remove your Mac from Find My Mac when it's offline, your requests are cancelled.
    3. Report your lost or stolen Mac to local law enforcement. They might request the serial number of your computer. You can find this information on the original box or receipt you received when you purchased your Mac, or on Apple's My Support Profile site if you registered your Mac.

  • How come my iMac and MacBook connect to my AirPort Extreme but my iPhone and iPad 2 won't?

How come my iMac and MacBook connect to my AirPort Extreme but my iPhone and iPad 2 don't?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I am asking if the DNS IP addresses, not the IP addresses assigned by the DHCP service, are the same. DNS is like the Internet's version of the Yellow Pages. Your ISP typically will provide them to you or you can elect to use those provided by another source, like OpenDNS.
DNS is the service that translates a website's URL to its actual IP address so that you can access it. I am just trying to rule out that the PC is not configured properly with the correct DNS IP information.
The other thing to check is if the PC is configured to use a Proxy service. By default, it would not be.
Finally, what is the make & model of the PC. More importantly, if the PC is using either a PCI or USB wireless adapter, what is its make & model?
