Macbook crashed, only bootcamp available, help!!!
Hi guys!
So my macbook pro 15 inch Mid 2012 crashed a few hours ago.
I restarted my mac and when the screen came on it was like it was updating something.
At around 80% my macbook suddenly went off.. I tried disk repair, but It could not help it either..
So I picked up a Sata to USB converter and connected it to another mac. It only sees the bootcamp partition and not the mac
partition, and this is the part I've been working for the past months.
Can someone help me please? I've got all my Logic files on it, and I really can't afford to loose them, I would have been throwing months of hard
work away

So my MacBook finally died a quiet death right as I've been knee deep in some fun GarageBand sessions.
My sessions were backed up on an external drive and I'd like to continue working on them with my Ipad 2.
First off, being that IPads have no access to external drives, would I have to use a cloud-based drive to pull up my sessions?
Is the IPad 2 fast enough?
Thanks for your help!You can upload GarageBand projects to your iPad using iTunes, but that is only supported for GarageBand on iPad projects, not for projects that you originally created on a Mac, see this help text:
Share GarageBand songs
You can import a GarageBand for iPad song via iTunes, and export a song as a GarageBand for iPad song or as an audio file to share with your friends or to use on another iPad. You can also email a song without leaving GarageBand. You can import GarageBand for iPhone songs via iTunes, but you can’t import a GarageBand for Mac song to GarageBand for iPad.
So that will not work, sorry.

Macbook crashing completely...help!

I think I tried to click on something while the macbook was still ´waking up´ out of sleep (takes very long sometimes) or it was somehow overload. I wasn´t able to do anything anymore except to switch it off. Then, when I switch the Macbook on, it starts to make a clicking sound, I think it is from the cd drive. The screen is blank, than at some point the clicking sound stops and I get to see a blinking map/folder with a question mark in the middle. I can´t do anything again except to, guess what, switch the Macbook off. Putting it on electricity does not make a difference.
It has happened to me before but after leaving the macbook off for a few days, it miraculously revived and did what it is supposed to.
Does anyone know how I can bring my Macbook back to life? Or why it is in coma in the first place?Sorry to hear this. I think the clicking sound you hear was the hard drive. When the drive is having trouble reading, the arm on the drive goes back and forth very quickly making the clicking sound.Do you have your drive backed up? You may be experiencing hard drive failure. The folder with the blinking question mark means no start up disk found. I don't know what operating system you have. If it's 10.6 or earlier and you have the disk, you can insert it and hold down the c and boot to it. Then use disk utilities off the install disk to check you drive. If you have a later operating system , you can try booting and holding down the option or option r keys when starting up. If it's there you should see the option for a recovery drive to boot to. You can use disk utilities from this to check your drive. Zapping the pram may or may not help. Command/option/p/r while holding down the start button for three chimes. Or SMC reset,remove power and battery and hold down power button for 10 seconds, then replace battery and power supply and reboot. If you can get back into you system, I suggest backing up your files if you have not done so already.

My macbook crashed about two weeks ago and I had icloud already set up. How do I go about retrieving the music and images? Please, help me. I had over 10gb of music on that computer and the only place it was backup was icloud. Thanks.
I hate to say this, but unless you are paying the 25 bucks you cannot back up your library to the cloud.
All you can do is back up the items you "purchased" from Apple.

I've installed windows 7 with the help of bootcamp on my macbook pro 2011.
Please help me how to install mac drivers for windows7 64 bit???You either download drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant and save to USB FAT disk, or you insert and use 10.6.x OS X DVD when in Windows and install and run the SETUP from there.

Step 4: Install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows
After installing Windows, install Mac-specific drivers and other software for Windows using your Mac OS X installation disc. The Mac OS X disc installs drivers to support Mac components, including AirPort,built-in iSight camera, the Apple Remote, the trackpad on a portable Mac, and thefunction keys on an Apple keyboard.
The Mac OS X disc also installs the Boot Camp control panel for Windows and theApple Boot Camp system tray item.
To install the Boot Camp drivers:
1 Eject the Windows installation disc.
2 Insert the Mac OS X disc. If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
3 Follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
Windows that appear only briefly during the installation don’t require your input.

4 After your computer restarts, follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware Wizard to update your software drivers (Windows XP only).

If You Have Problems Installing the Device Drivers
If it appears that the Boot Camp drivers weren’t successfully installed, try repairing them.

Time Machine on intel MacBook Pro: only backup from today is available
Hi all,
I use 500M TC for two computers - old iMac G5 on PowerPC and newer MacBook Pro on Intel. iMac works with Time Capsule pretty good, I can navigate between several dates with the arrows on Time Machine 'star' interface. But I can't do the same on my notebook. Every time i enter Time Machine the only choices available to navigate is TODAY and NOW. This does not mean that MacBook is not backing up. For example, I can reach old data on Time Capsule if go through 'Backup of MacBook Pro' from Finder's device tab on left toolbar. Simply from Finder windows I can open&save files which are on Time Capsule hard drive. But can't do the same on Time Capsule nice interface.

It sounds like TM has started a new "sequence" of backups, as if you'd gotten a new Mac.
To see these "other" backups, you may need the (badly named) +Browse Other Time Machine Disks+ option. It's available by holding down the Option key while selecting the TM icon in your Menubar, or by control-clicking (right-clicking) the TM icon in your Dock.
You'll see a selection screen showing all the disks/partitions that have TM backups on them. Select the one you want, and you'll be taken to the normal TM "Star Wars" interface, where you should see all the backups on that disk/partition.
You may have to manually mount the sparse image for your MacBook (there may be two of them) to get this to work. -
Hi, I am trying to install Windows on my MacBook Pro with bootcamp. Every time I open bootcamp I am only able to check the first two boxes but not the third one saying "install or remove Windows 7". I did this before using the same computer and the same hard drive so I am not sure why this is happening now but did´t happen then. Any solutions ?
Was your Bootcamp info.plist manipulated to change any options?

Hi, I have changed from an old laptop to a macbook air. how can i keep my music from my iPhone and sync it my macbook? Only purchased music seems to be available to sync, even though the rest of the music was uploaded from CD's on my last laptop.
As I can't upload CD's onto the Macbook Air, how do I keep the existing music on my iphone syn onto my new macbook without deleting all the cds on the iphone??

Are you pressing the Sync button to transfer music after connecting your iPhone or do you have the option checked to 'Automatically Sync when the iPhone is connected?'
Have you tried manually dragging and dropping music from your library into your phone? -
If I install Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro using Bootcamp, now having 2 start up drives, do I select the Windows drive, then I can install a software program that runs only on a PC?

Why do all my pictures from my i phone transfer to my macbook with only 72 resolution when the pixel availability is high?
The iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel rear facing camera; the iPhone 3 has a 3 megapixel camera. Your example shows a pixel density of 2.5 megapixels (1322 X 1866 = 2,466,852). If this was from the iPhone 3 it's not that far out of line, especially if it was "optimized" during transfer. You can still use Photoshop to increase the dpi above 72. Just resize the picture to 260 dpi without resampling. The physical size of the photo will shrink but it will produce photo quality prints. If they aren't clear, that's probably a focus/lighting issue.

Keynote Crashing - with Lion. Most often when I switch out of Keynote to another program - Keynote freezes - says Application Not Responding. If I save the Keynote before switching, it does not crash - only when it says it is an "edited" file....help
I posted this on another thread. See if this works:
1) Uncheck "Backup previous version" in Keynote's Preferences.
2) Make a duplicate copy of your file that has issues and save it.
3) If you still get spinning wheels from switching between apps after editing or 10 seconds of inactivity, manually save with command+s. It may beach ball here but be patient and wait for it to finish! Try editing and resume doing work now.
Command+s may be a bit slow but I think that might be normal since the files are so big.

I updated my ipad 2 today with ios 702 and now my ipad has crashed only showing a itunes logo and a charging cable pidtogram on a black screen, wont turn on. Any help appreciated?
iPad is in Recovery mode.
Hold the Power button and Home button at the same time, keep holding, when you see the white apple logo appear and then let both go. Let it start. -

I have been trying to put some of my music and artwork, on youtube. Youtube says you need an encoder to upload music. But the problem is the only encoders available are for windows. Please help, thank you

Since YouTube supports AAC, the file format iTunes uses by default, it's probable you don't need any sort of converter.
