MacBook Didn't Come With Boot Camp Assistant

I ordered my Macbook on 26 December and it came in on 3 January, with Leopard and the Leopard disc, but Boot Camp was not installed. It is my understanding that it was supposed to come with it. Public Beta is no longer available for download, either...
So what am I supposed to do in order to get Boot Camp on my MacBook ?

  • Windows 7 professional 64 Bit on MacBook Pro Retina 15 with Boot Camp ?

Hallo guys, i have a big problem with installing Windows 7 professional 64 Bit on my MacBook Pro Retina 15 with Boot Camp. No matter what i try i get a black screen after partitioning or get a message like " No bootable disk" or  " No System Disk availabe".
My Mac has : OS X version 10.8.2, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB memory, 2.6 GHz Intel i7 and is only a week old
My Boot Camp is version 5.0.1
My Windows InstallingDVD is one year old now, i needed it to build a PC last year, hope that doesnt make a difference, its a full version, so not just for upgrading.
From what i saw in the apple support it should work on my macbook. I hope someone can help me.
    Thanks in advance.

Ok, problem solved. I looked a bit more here in the questions and there was the answer and its quite simple.
Somehow an USB-stick makes problems while Windows wants to install, i dont know why. So i just made everything over DVDs and now everything works fine.

Your phrasing is not clear. How do you reboot into Mac OS? /can you describe the process step by step?
Usually, you should do like this:
    - while in win, restart
    - immediately after chime, press option or alt key
    - wait for 2-3 seconds, you should see the boot options
    - select Mac OS partition
If you have performed all these steps, and, after choosing Mac OS partition, you cannot boot into Mac OS, then your system is corrupt and should be reinstalled.

  • How do I install Windows XP with boot camp assistant, on my IMac?

How do I install Windows XP with boot camp assistant, on my IMac?

    Lion cannot BootCamp XP.
You can install XP under virtual machine software (Parallels, VM Fusion, VirtualBox).
And Windows 7 Pro has XP mode.  XP will requires probably days of pathing after install and will be completely unsupported by MS within 1 year, but Windows 7 Pro still has great support from MS.

Have you seen this type of problem before? I think it could be a serious issue for anyone in a similar position.
No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.
    •  I don't suppose there is anything I can do to 'put back' lost items from a separate Time Machine drive which has an up to date backup on it.
There is probably a way to do that - seems to me that's one of the reasons for a Time Machine volume.
On the other hand, if the Time Machine volume is rigidly linked to the now-absent OS on the original drive, there may be no way to effectively access the files in the TM archive.
I know that using a cloned drive would work well in this instance.
I have no experience with Time Machine, so perhaps someone who has will chime in with suggestions.
With the machine in TDM with the other machine, have you tried running Disk Utility to see if you can effect repairs to the drive?

  • I'm trying to install Windows 7 on my MacBook with Boot Camp Assistant

I'm trying to use Boot Camp assistant to install Windows 7. I have a disk, I've done everything right, but for some reason, whenever I click Install on the final Boot Camp prompt, it only gets as far as the Windows is loading files... part after it reboots to the Windows hard drive. I've tried everything, but it still won't work. Im using a 13" MacBook Pro with Retina. It has the latest software version (OS X 10.9.1) and I have a USB with Windows Support Software. The disk is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
I've been trying for the last two days, and I really need help!
    Thanks.

I solved my own problem. I just kept trying, and eventually it worked!

  • Macbook Pro running Windows with Boot Camp, wanting to use iMac as second monitor.

I am using a Macbook Pro that is running Windows with Boot Camp. I want to connect it to my iMac so that I can use the iMac as a second monitor.
If it is not possible, I also have a TV that I could use using an HDMI, however when I tried this my Macbook Pro running Windows 8.1 did not detect it in the Display Settings.
What are my options? I just want to use my iMac or TV as a second monitor!!
    Any help is appreciated, tMachanks!

  • Macbook didn't come with Pages and Keynote??

Macbook pro with retina display didn't come with Pages or Keynotes. I recently chatted with a representative who said that they come pre-installed.

According to the online store, Pages, Numbers and Keynote are all extras at $19.99 each.  If you ordered your MBP with any of these extra cost options, you will have to get a redemption code from Apple support and download them from the App Store.
    Ciao.

  • How to restore an external hard drive formatted with boot camp assistant?

    Hi,
I was just about to set up boot camp using the assistant and it was makign the disk image on an external drive. I didn't realise I had two drives plugged in and selected the wrong one! I cancelled it as soon as I realised, but it had already reformatted the drive.
Any chance that a recover software will be able to get it back? what do you think?
    thanks in advance

    hey,
Actually I've just finished running DIsk Drill and have recovered almost everything (500GB worth). The only thing is every file is just numbered with no directory structure (ie. File0000001.jpg, File00000002.mov, etc etc)
so I've got the data, but also about 10000000 files to sort through!

  • MacBook didn't come with an iLife CD?

My MacBook is currently in the process of being replaced, and I figured that, since I have the opportunity, I'll reinstall OSX when I get the new machine so that I have more free space for BootCamp and stuff.
Anyway, I noticed that my first MacBook didn't actually come with a iLife install disc... Did I just not see it? I'll want to reinstall the iLife programs...
    Francis

    Francis,
iLife is part of the included installation disks that come with the MBP. When doing an install, they will automactically be included, unless you choose to not install them when you pick Customize during install.

  • Need help with Boot camp assistant!!! (partitioning disk)

when i click partition disk in boot camp asistan after 5 minuts this message appears:
*+Verification failed. This disk could not be partitioned.+*
+Use Disk Utility to repair this disk.+
anyone know how to fix this??
    i really want bootcamp!

Yes. Your directory is damaged and needs to be repaired. Boot up to your original gray iMac install Disk but instead of going through the install process, after you select the language go up to the top under the Utilities Menu and open Disk Utility. Select your hard drive on the left hand side and under the First Aid tab click Repair Disk.

  • Help with boot camp assistant

i start using the bootcamp assistant but then could not find my windows CD... now, until i find one i would like to keep using my mac regulary but it wont load the OSX as well... it just gives a black screen and states that there is no boot disk in...

Boot your Mac while holding down the Alt/Option-key until the Boot Selection screen is shown.
Choose your OSX to boot from.
Once in OSX go to System Preferences - Startup Volume and set your OSX to be the default.
Either stick with the done partitioning or use the BootCamp Assistant to revert the partioning and revert back to one OSX volume.
