Macbook disk damaged? or what

My daughter was updating her Macbook Intel 2ghz 80mb OS10.5 and when it was finished it loaded to a blue screen.
I booted the disk in firewire target mode and saw contents seemed ok
I ran DriveGenius 2 repair and it said it fixed the disk but still blue screen
I tried reinstalling system software but this stuck with 20 minutes to go and then reported system error and said it needed repair
I then ran Drive Genius scan facility to check for bad blocks but this stuck at 78.4% and had to force quit out of that test
What does this mean as most of the data and tests say disk is fine but i cannot boot or install new OS
it reached the 79.4 with 0 bad blocks before jamming

How do I sync Iphone 5 to new MacBook Pro without deleting what's on iPhone?

I just purchased a new MacBook Pro and I have an iPhone 5 that has been synced with my PC. When I try and sync the iPhone with the new MacBook ti tells me that it will erase what is on the iPhone and replace it with what is on the MacBook. I want to sync all that is on the iPhone with the MacBook and not delete what is on the iPhone.
How do I do that without loosing any music, emails, photos, calender appointments, etc.?

A device can only sync with one library at a time. Ideally you transfer the library from the PC to the Mac so it is still syncing with the same library.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the iTunes Library.itl file in the moved iTunes folder.

If you put it in the default location of Macintosh HD > Users > *User Name* > Music then you don't even need to start with the option key held down, iTunes will automatically look for it there. (Make sure there isn't anything already in the iTunes folder there that you want to keep since you will be replacing it with the one you are moving.)
If you don't have the library anymore then it gets messy. You will have to use third party software to transfer the phone contents to the Mac and rebuild your library there so its content matches that of the old library so you are syncin the content back to the phone.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

This is a rare error, so excuse me if I ask some basic questions:
1. Do you update your Apple software through the Software Update pulldown menu? If not, I'd suggest doing that.
2. Do you perform diagnostics? If not, you can perform a Permissions check by going to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and running it.
3. Do you perform other diagnostics? Download Onyx to your Mac, and perform a full diagnostic on your machine. You'll need to reboot.
4. Have you tried to download updates individually from Apple? Not the perfect solution, but there's a good chance it will work.
5. Have you used Terminal? If you go to Applications/Utilities/Terminal, type "sudo softwareupdate --install --all", and enter. Software Update should work.
6. If all fails, consult help at your Apple Store, if there's one nearby.

My advice is to stop listening to Matt Kloskowski ... but nevertheless ... what he explained, dragging and dropping a folder to another hard disk, works as long as you are meticulous and never forget to do so. And if you're not meticulous about it (and most people probably aren't), then you don't have backups. The best way (and in my opinion ONLY way that works) is to use third-party software that will perform the backups of your photos and your catalog file automatically and regularly (every day or every week). The built-in catalog backup in Lightroom is an excellent way to back-up your catalog file, but it will not make backups of your photos.

Usualy we take the strongest measures to avoid that and never let it come to that. You should of had back up's running on and off site. How bad is your problem?? I'm assuming you are talking abou a hard drive that is faulty. Have you tried restarting in Safe Mode??
You get experts that can retrieve data from a hard drive depending how bad the problem is. It usualy cost more than the Hard drive......but if you are desperate and value your data you'll do it.

I have to recover my disk through internet once i don't have a recovery disk of mountain lion. I tried to reboot pressing command R as i read the instructions but it always show up a grey screen with a lock and a space to fill a code. Does any body knows what code it is ? A firmware password has been set. If you don't know the password, you can't use Recovery. Take the machine to an Apple Store or authorized service provider to have the password cleared.

You can only buy content from your own country's store i.e. the Egyptian store if you are in Egypt - you need to be in a country to use its store, so to use the US store you will need to be in the US and have a US billing address on your account. If there is an app or any other item that you would like to be buy that isn't currently available in the Egyptian store then you can try requesting that it be added, but unless the app's developer or rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

I have just opened what i think is a fake email. It said please see attached copy of the original invoice. It then Had a single zip file beneath the text.
I thought it looked a bit odd but I was worried that someone had billed me accidentally for something and I tried to open the attached zip file.
The file would not open but I think it downloaded I clicked on what I thought were the downloads which would not open and I trashed them.

Which files may be deleted when cleaning MacBook disk?

My MacBook has been running slowly so I'm trying to use "Sponge" to clean-up my MacBook disk. Sponge tells me which files are the biggest "disk hogs," but it does not tell me which files are okay to remove. I'm a novice at this and I don't want to delete anything that could mess up my system. Do not delete any files that are in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto library is a SQL database and its structure and content must not be changed using the finder or outside programs
