Macbook facetime

my macbook pro is not letting me facetime anyone. it says that they are not avalible and they are becuase they are waiting for me to facetime them. It also will not ring if someone is trying to call me. my ipad and my iphone are working to facetime.
i dont know what is wrong with it.

I have the same issue.  Just installed Facetime on my Macbook Pro.  My husband has an iphone 4 and he can Facetime me, but I can't Facetime him from the Macbook.  We have tried other suggestions such as turning off Airplan mode, entering the phone number exactly how it is programmed in the phone.  We are both on the same WiFi network.  When I Facetime from the Macbook it just rings and rings and he doesn't get a notification to pick up or any error messages.  Suggestions??

  • MacBook FaceTime issue

Ever since I installed Yosemite on my MacBook, whenever I get a call on my iPhone (a normal phone call), I get a notification on my MacBook that I am getting an incoming FaceTime call. And then I pick up the call on my iPhone and it still says it's a missed FaceTime call.
The first time this happened, I went into FaceTime on my MacBook and I went to Preferences and I un-checked my iPhone phone number. My Apple ID is still checked, however.
But the problem continues. I get a call, and FaceTime on my MacBook also receives it and thinks I'm getting a FaceTime call. Even weirder, the calls I'm getting to my iPhone aren't even FaceTime calls, but simply normal telephone calls, but the MacBook thinks they are FaceTime calls.
Not sure what to do at this point other than throw out my computer and start over. (jk). But seriously, the "Missed FaceTime Call" notifications are starting to pile up. I could de-select my Apple ID from FaceTime preferences as well...but I want to be able to use FaceTime on my MacBook once in a while...
    Thanks for any help!

    Hello there, vwg.
The ability to chose where to take your calls, is part of a new feature called Continuity in Yosemite. The following link to the online User Guide for Mac OS X provides some great information in regards to the settings that are related to making and recieving calls on your Mac:
Use your Mac to make and receive phone calls - Mac Help
Use your Mac to make and receive phone calls
When you want to make or receive a phone call, you don’t have to reach for your iPhone—you can use your Mac. When someone calls you, a notification appears on your Mac and you can take the call.
You can start a phone call on your Mac from FaceTime, Contacts, Safari, Mail, Maps, Spotlight, and many other apps.
Note: Phone calls you make and receive on your Mac use cellular minutes—cellular charges may apply.
To make and receive phone calls on your Mac, make sure of the following:
Your iPhone has iOS 8 installed.
Your Mac and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network. For more information, see Join a Wi-Fi network.
Your Mac and iPhone are signed in to iCloud and FaceTime using the same Apple ID. For more information, see Set up iCloud on your Mac and Sign in to FaceTime.
Your Mac and iPhone have iPhone Cellular Calls turned on.
Turn on or off iPhone Cellular Calls on your Mac
Open FaceTime, then choose FaceTime > Preferences.
Select iPhone Cellular Calls. If you don’t see the iPhone Cellular Calls option, make sure you meet all of the above requirements, then open FaceTime preferences again.
To turn off phone calls, deselect iPhone Cellular Calls.
Turn on or off iPhone Cellular Calls on your iPhone
Tap Settings, tap FaceTime, then turn iPhone Cellular Calls on or off.
You can still make and receive phone calls on your iPhone with this option turned off.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • MacBook FaceTime video problem

FaceTime has stopped working on my MacBook.  When I open the FaceTime Preferences, the msg "No Video: FaceTime has not received any video from the connected camera. Restarting your computer may fix this issue."  No camera is connected; I'm using the MacBook's camera.  Restarting has not worked.  Any suggestions?  My iTouch works fine on the same server.
It may not be related, but the MacBook has become slower at booting up.

The problem has unexplicably resolved itself.  I tried it again after the computer had been off for a few hours and it worked fine.

  • 2012 Macbook FaceTime Issues

    Good Morning Everyone,
I would just like to ask if anyone could help me with this issue, I have got a Macbook 2012. And like 2 days ago, i go to use FaceTime and it says Power Saver Mode, Click FaceTime to resume. I do as it says, but nothing happens. The FaceTime camera green light is always on, even though FaceTime quite clearly isn't working.
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Cheers
    Alec

    click system preference
    energy saver
remove check mark "slightly dim the display while on battery power"
    then reload face time
    you're done
    Happy New Year!

  • Macbook facetime small window showing myself is dissapear

I don't know why but sometimes when using facetime, the small window showing myself is not there, but my friend can see and hear me, everything is normal, except the small window is missing.
Is anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks very much for your help Mark. Yes, I checked multiple times that the playhead is over the same title on the timeline that I loaded in the title window. That's why I can't understand why it's displaying the title after it.
OK I create the titles this way:
    • I start with the first subtitle "S1" that I created in the title window which then shows up in the project window,
    • I then duplicate S1 in the project window and rename the copy "S2",
    • I then double click S2 to open it in the title window and change the text
That worked for the first few subtitles, but then S7 in the title window shows up as S8 in the timeline. And then S8 as S9, S9 as S10, S10 as S11, and so on.
I'm going to call Adobe tomorrow morning. Because it's really driving me nuts.
I even started from scratch redoing all the subtitles, and still encounter the same problem after S6.
But have a look at this example here from my timeline. Look at subtitle "S12". In the rendered part of S12, it's reading one line. And in the unrendered part it's reading a totally different line. Yet this is one subtitle!

  • Facetimer: server encountered an error processing registration

    Hello,
This morning, I had no problem signing on to my FaceTime on my Macbook Pro. Later, I updated my IPhone 4's software to the latest version, and now my Macbook Facetime isn't working. When I try to login, I get "Server encountered and error processing registration. Try again later." I've tried changing my password, and I'm still getting the message. What am I missing?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
I had the same problem, I guess Facetime must have access to your current location and time, just make sure you check "Set time zone automatically using current location" box at System Preferences >Date &Time >Time Zone
    Cheers,

  • How do I change the phone that Facetime uses to make calls

We have multiple iPhones in the household and when I use Facetime from my MacBook Air to make a regular call it doesn't use my iphone to dial. How do I tell the MacBook Facetime to use my iPhone?

    Howdy angeleno,
If I understand correctly, you have Continuity setup and you can make calls on the Mac but it goes to the wrong phone, and not to yours. That says to me that the Apple ID being used for Continuity has a phone number other than your own linked to it. Use this article to check what Apple ID is using Continutiy on your computer:
Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.
If that is the wrong iCloud account then sign out and use the one you wish that has the phone number linked to it.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I will end up getting something other than Logitech speakers, since I'm just weird like that.
Your not weird, your a audiophile.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audiophile
Good sound costs money. And with a 5.1 system your usually doing surround sound decoding for BlueRay movies etc. for home theater purposes.
The PC 5.1 surround sound systems require a audio card in a PC tower and mainly used for playing 3D games so that won't work for any Mac at all. So don't buy a PC 5.1 surround sound system for your Mac.
Harmon Kardon has the GoPlay, it's a portable stereo with awesome sound (not as good as their theater systems) and you can hook up a analog male/male stereo mini cable to it from the Mac.
$200 and it has a iPod dock and also takes like 8 batteries so it's portable.
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002GHBTNC
There is also the Bose Wave clock/radio, you will need a stereo mini to RCA break out cable for that.
    http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/wave_systems/index.jsp
The GoPlay has much better sound than the Bose, I think the Bose are overpriced.
