Hi Harpal
as you said "
I tried E71 on windows laptop still does not work, dials, connects but does not register on the network.
this sounds to be one of 2 issues:
1st and the most likely happening is that a problem with your servece provider settings, and to exlude that , try using an SIM of another servece provider, if it works good, or not
2nd , it maybe be a phone problem
plz try the first suggestion and let me know.
Phones I bought from 1st till now:
3210 / 3310 / 3410 / 6310 / 6600 / 6020 / N72 / E51 / X2-00 / 5310 xpress Music / E90 Communicator

  • With Share Everything, can I connect my phone directly to MacBook for Internet?

I have a Samsung Convoy and wonder if I can connect my phone to my MacBook using the USB/micro USB cable that came with my phone charger, so that I can use the Internet on my laptop away from my home internet service? Or is the only way to do this to purchase a Jetpack and connect through that?

Well, it seems that you may use the phone via the bluetooth modem networking feature as well as other possible configuration modifications located in the advanced section of the network preferences.
If your Macbook Pro is Lion or Mt. Lion or 64-bit with Snow Leopard, you may want to reboot the Macbook in the 32-bit mode. This can be done by pressing the 3 and 2 number keys while it starts back up.
Also, from the vzam.net site there is a link for the VZAccess Manager for the Convoy 2, not sure if this is yours but you may view the listing to see if it's available, if so then that's your easy fix.
If it's recognized when plugged in via the Network Preferences, you may be able to configure it as a Generic USB Modem as the Vendor and EVDO support as the model.
Maybe some of this helps a little bit.

  • I have bought a new airport express and using it with my macbook (iTunes 10.2.2). I have joined an existing network for internet in my home and with that i am trying to play the music via itunes but there is audio dropouts every 60 secs or so. any soln ?

I have bought a new airport express and using it with my macbook (iTunes 10.2.2). I have joined an existing wireless network for internet in my home and with that i am trying to play the music via itunes but there is audio dropouts every 60 secs or so. I am using a set of speakers from kenwood connected to the airport express. The operating system on my macbook is mac os X 10.5.8. i am sure it is not a problem of streaming music online because i have even tried playing music which are stored in my macbook.
Is there any problem with the setting in itunes or quicktime ? Kindly reply...... I am waiting for your valuable suggestion.
Thank you a lot in advance.

I am shocked to have found this same AX audio dropout problem starting TODAY, every few seconds the audio just drops for a couple seconds and then resumes:  Latest software versions of everything.  No iPad, iPhone or Touch.  Internet hardwired to D-Link DES1105 (1000baseT Switch) hardwired to new 80211N AX, AX optical to stereo, AX Wi-Fi internet to basic 1st-gen MacBook operating at 80211G, and an older 'G' AX extender at the far end of the house, away from all this.  The MacBook streaming iTunes is usually 12 feet from AX.  I've used this setup for years of trouble-free AirTunes / Airplay until today.  Today I also found 2 very reliable fixes and 1 way to force a dropout, but first, I read some posts and tried ALL following settings one-at-a-time and restored them ALL because NONE of them helped:  Turned off IPV6.  Streamed to multiple speakers 'Computer' and 'AX' (restored to just AX).  Turned off 'Ask to Join new (WiFi) Networks'.  Turned off Bluetooth (can't live without Magic Trackpad, so glad that wasn't it).  Here's my discoveries:  Lo and behold, each time I click the Airport icon in the Menu (you know it shows you've got 4 bars from AX) when the status switches to 'Looking for Networks' for a second it CAUSES the AX audio to drop out for a couple seconds (it never did that before today.)  iTunes still playing, streaming, AX laser still lit, but the 'PCM' light on stereo and the sound GOES OUT EVERY time I click the Airport icon in the menubar, just like the regular, annoying dropouts.  So, to reduce traffic I quit Safari (3 tabs, no streaming, just Gmail, Google, and Netflix browsing).  Lo and behold, the dropouts stopped altogether.  No other Web apps going (not iTunes Store, Genius, Ping, nothing), so I launched Chrome to the same 3 tabs and the dropouts HAVE NOT RETURNED.  That's right, not only did simply QUITTING SAFARI cure it, and Chrome doesn't contribute to it, but I can demonstrate it just by forcing my Airport to re-scan.  Works for me, written using Chrome.  The other reliable fix is to hardwire MacBook to the Switch.  This is obviously not ideal, but Airplay audio doesn't drop out over Ethernet.  Also, in all my tests, it made no difference whether iTunes did the streaming, or Airfoil did.

  • My MacBook Po can not connet with Time Capsule for Internet. Back-up are ok

    Hi to all,
If I connect the ADSL line to Time Capsule no Internett available.
If connect the live with eternet cable to MacBook pro all is fine.
Mack book pro do all the backup with Time Capsule in WiFi
Hot to have the MacBook connectid to Time Capsule in WiFe for internet too??
Easy explanation please, I'm really beginner

Your original question was How to use Time Capsule for wireless back-up but not Internet?
There is no reason for you to connect the tower....or anything else...using Ethernet if your goal remains that same as you stated.
If you are asking if you can backup the Tower using Ethernet, and not wireless, then you can connect the tower to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule....not the WAN port.
Yes, it appears to work without plugging into my tower.
    Correct, it will work.
I just have to select the network that it created. Of course, I have no access to the Internet while this is happening and it can not auto backup, unless I am on that wireless signal.
As I stated, that is the downside to trying to back up without an Internet connection.  You have to establish another network...and backup over that network.
If you are asking if you can stay connected to the work network while also backing up to your non-Internet "private" network, that is not possible.

  • Having trouble with connecting my iphone and macbook air using bluetooth for internet tethering

    Hi,
I am facing an issue connecting my iPhone5 to my Macbook Air using bluetooth primarily for internet tethering - personal hotspot.
Every time I try to pair my iPhone with the Macbook Air, I get the error on the iPhone that 'the device that I am trying to connect is not supported'.
Can anyone provide assistance to me on resolving this issue.
    Thankyou,
    Ashwani

You can't resolve it using bluetooth because it is not a feature you can use here are the supported files for bluetooth http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3647
YOu will have to contact your carrier and enable personal hotspot as suggested by questionaire.

  • Which macbook for video

I am buying myself an apple macbook pro next week. It will be a 15inch but I am wondering what version I should pick. I will be editing video for internet, managing blog and website, working on photoshop.. so quite a lot of media stuff. I am not doing this at a very high level (still learning) but want to have something I can evolve with. Can anyone help me choosetnx Some advise?

Get one with the dual GPUs and get the largest 7200 rpm HDD available (and you'll likely still end up needing an external FW800 7200 rpm drive to supplement the internal).

  • Question about buying a new macbook for developing

I am looking to buy a macbook for iOS mobile app development. My current macbook is a 2010 white macbook 250GB storage and 2GB memory. It is full of music videos and everything else I have downloaded in the past 5 yeaIt will only be for using Xcode and browsing the internet. I am looking at a Macbook Air or Pro but I don't know exactly how much power I will need. What macbook would best suit my needs?

For me there is always  something else I need to get the job done besides what I had originally planned to use. So have extra resources to include this is alway helpful. You may not suffer the same problem as I do.
Besides when I am in the development mode, the last thing I want is for the computer I am working on to slow down. For me this is a terrible distraction and could be the reason I do my developmental work on a Mac Pro. But then you might not be as sensitive to computer speed as I am. I have been told i am hypersensitive to computer speed.

  • Does Mac Pro use ethernet 1 by default for internet ? (dual nic question)

Greets all - loving my Mac Pro so far and will likely never have a pc only again - as already switched to macbook pro a year ago - (boot camp still for the pc games at times but rather be in OS X and fusion anyday)
Anyway at home I have both a Cable Modem and DSL - the wife and I both work in IT and every once in a while one or the other goes out and if we cant get in remotely at all times its a problem
I use the cable modem and the DSL is routed through an Apple Time Capsule to her Imac and kids pc's
I hooked in the TC to my second NIC as occasionally I want to get files off it - and it showed up fine - running tracert and speedtest.net shows my internet access still going through port 1 through the cable modem
This is what I want as it is faster overall but I was curious if anyone knows if by default OS X will always use eth 1 for internet and only eth 2 when I try and access the Time Capsule (have extra hd off it on usb also) or that subnet ? Or do I need to so something to force it to always use eth1 for internet access
(starting to read up on the aggregation possibilities but wanted to see the basics of how it works like this first)

OS X uses the connection that is first in the list of ports in Network preferences. You can rearrange by clicking on the options button below the list, select re-order, then arrange. OS X also by default connects to the Ethernet port to which the cable is connected unless you have both ports connected to separate routers. Then the order is determined by the port listing.

  • I just recently picked up an 07 macbook for the time being till i can get a new one, right now its running os x 10.5.8, where can i find 10.6 as the next step to upgrade or can i skip 10.6?

Hey guys so i just recently piced up an 07 macbook for the time being till i can afford to buy a new one.  Right now its running os x 10.5.8. Basically ive read tht you can not skip any updates, is this right? I know 10.6 is the next step up upgrade wise, and i cant seem to find it on the internet anywhere? Pls help me.  Can i skip 10.6 and upgrade higher right away or wht?  Wht do i need to do and where can i find the updates?

OS X 10.6 comes in the form of a physical CD. You could start by calling your local Apple store and seeing if they still have any.

  • Can you use Airport for internet and Gigabit Ethernet for file sharing?

i would like to complicate my network setup by using my Airport connection to the internet for internet access and then use the Gigabit Ethernet connection between my G5 tower and the MacBook Pro for file sharing, Compressor's distributed rendering, and possibly iTunes music/video sharing for Front Row.
is this possible? could i just run a cat 6 cable between the two and network them together? or do i need to get a Gigabit Switch?
i suppose i could just try running the cable between them and see what happens. i don't think these new machines require cross-over cables since the ethernet ports auto-detect that now, but is a cat 5e or cat 6 cable required for Gigabit speed?
    thanks,
    scott
    PowerMac G5 2.5GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Yes it would work. The Ethernet network would be used for local file transfers and the Airport for internet. However you will need to make sure Ethernet is at the top of the list of network ports in the Network Preferences.

  • How to access internet users information from MacBook shared internet?

    Hi ,
I want to know about the users information who use the shared internet connection from my MacBook. My MacBook works as WiFi hotspot for different devices, I need to know about their usage from MacBook as statistics or etc ?
    OR
Please guide me how can I access information of all the devices, how much they are using, when the connect with the hotspot (MacBook shared internet), ?
Could it possible to access what they are browsing ?
    Your guidance will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance : !

    Ansar,
A source group or "group" is what you need to configure on the CSS in order for the backend servers to initiate a connection outbound on the CSS. It would be helpful if you could email me directly a piece of your config. Specifically I would need the "service" section in terms of which servers need outbound access as well as the content rules you have configured and the ACL section to confirm you are not blocking anything.
    As an example.
    If you had
    service pete
    ip address 1.1.1.1
    active
    content pete
    add service pete
    protocol tcp
    port 80
    vip address 2.2.2.2
    active
    group pete_out
    vip address 2.2.2.2
    add service pete
    active
So what happens is when the service makes an outbound connection, the source ip address is now the vip address. When the return packet comes back, the CSS recognizes it and gets it back to the backend server.
You can also apply a source group via an acl as another option.
    Regards
    Pete..

  • The iMac I just bought is slow for internet browsing

    Hi all,
The iMac (21,5p, 2.5Ghz intel core i5 / 4Gb / Lion 10.7.2), I just bought on the Apple Store is very slow for web browsing (maybe less by using firefox instead of safari but slow even with firefox). It seems to be a latency issue and not a download or upload issue. My iPhone 3GS is working better for web browsing on the same network (home network with a Wifi access point)
I have a powerful cable connection (15ms ping, 60Mb/s download, 5Mb/s upload) that I tested with speedtest web site.
It's quite strange because firefox works fine within a Windows virtual machine hosted on the same iMac !!!
I also tested my internet connection by using Unison (binnews) and it works very well with a very good download rate.
I used before a macbook with Snow and it was very good for internet browsing. I really do not understand what append with this iMac.
    I'm very confused.
FYI: my iMac is connected to a netgear switch. The switch is connected to a Cisco router and at the end there is the Cablebox in bridge mode.
I'm using OpenDNS service for IP resolution. I tested DNS service of my internet provider a got the same result (poor latency when I'm browsing from a site to another).
I'd appreciate any advice to help me having a good experience for internet browsing with my new beautiful iMac.
    Many Thanks,
    David

    test fastest DNS with this
(doesn't work for Akami content as the closest server is better, meaning your ISP im most cases)
