Macbook freezes when I play 720p movies
I bought my macbook back in early 2008 and now it runs on OS X Tiger.
Recently, I find that whenever I use realplayer to play 720p movies....my macbook would free at some random spot and I'd have no other ways of closing the program other than physically pressing the shut down button.
I have tried using VLC but its worse. It would play for a bit and when I try to fast forward it (I press pause then fast forward), the whole app would just crash and give me an error message. This happens everytime.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

Drag applications from your main desktop off the right side of the screen and they will appear on the TV. This is the extended desktop mode.

When someone complains that their music upload stalls I immediately think of three problems:
1) corrupt song(s)
2) bad cable
3) bad hard drive
The list is actually in reverse order of my expectations. Since you were able to format the drive it obviously hasn't suffered a hard crash but there might be a very large number of bad sectors. Go here to see how to put the iPod into diagnostic mode so you can further check the drive.
If the drive passes muster borrow another cable. And finally, create a playlist and verify that each song is good by playing it. See if it will sync. If it does, add more songs (verified good). Keep repeating. -
Hi,
I have a white unibody macbook (late 2009 model) ; It functions normally when being used. However, when I have put the macbook on charging and if not used for long time, macbook freezes. Only mouse cursor moves but nothing happens. Everytime, i need to hard boot to get the system back.
Don't see any activity on the hard drive and also, the CPU is normal, the fan speed is normal.
Tried PRAM reset but didn't work.
Any suggestions that could help to identify the root cause.
Thanks,The problem is that there aren't any drivers for the MacBook that are compatible with Windows 8, so you will have to wait. I haven't heard freezing on the final Windows 8 version on MacBooks, so it looks like the final version fixes that problem

When I play a movie through iTunes, audio has no issues but video stutters and skips
Hey everyone,
I have a Dell 17R, Windows 8 64 bit, intel i7-3630QM at 2.4 GHZ, 8gb ram, Nvidia GT-650M at 1920x1080 using driver 320.49
When I play a movie in iTunes, the audio works flawlessly but the video will be smooth for a few seconds, stutter and then skip small 2-3 second spots. I haven't noticed that the parts skipped are any more graphically intense than other spots and there is no discernable pattern.
In the past, I have been able to play movies through iTunes with absolutely no problem but when I downloaded this most recent one a few days ago all of my movies have been experiencing the same issue.
When I stream other videos from other sources I do not experience the same problems as I do when I use iTunes. Streaming 1080P over youtube or a similar services is no issue.
I have updated my video drivers to the latest version as well.
I am at a loss, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Reloaded Itunes on an XP machine. Reloaded because Itunes would not open. Now when I play a movie that is in my library, the movie plays for aprx. 60 seconds and then reverts back to my Itunes library. Does it with all movies in the library, Most where downloaded from Itunes. Any ideas on a cure?
This "original file cannot be found" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .

My computer freezes when i play movies
My itunes is up to date, and i just downloaded the moves from the itunes store. About every 45 seconds the movie will freeze up for about 30 seconds and eat up my processor. when running propperly itunes takes up about 40% while playing a movie but when it freezes it goes to 98%

My mac book pro 15 inch won't stop freezing when I play StarCraft2
Whenever I play SC2 it freezes very often, last summer when I played it wasn't like this. Sometimes I have one window open in Chrome and I bleive this may be this issue but that shouldn't cuase this. I also have always listened to the internet radio through itunes while playing. Here's what it just gave me in the problem report.

Now my macbook always shuts off randomly while doing anything such as watching a movie on qucktime, searching the web, or very often when I click the spotlight to search something, such as a word in the dictionary. Macbook freezes when dashboard accessed
Two nights ago, I let my computer sleep until the morning (I rarely shut it down at night). When I tried to login to the computer (via the screensaver password prompt), the computer froze. I did a force quit via the power button and when it restarted, the no (slash/circle) sign appeared then the flashing question mark. I then attempted to fix it via the disk utility, but I gave up when the utility searched ad nauseum.
I was able to restarted the computer and use it with no problems until I pressed the F12 key to access the dashboard. The computer freezes when the dashboard is displayed. If I have iTunes open, it will still play, but I can't get access the force quit via altctrlescape route.
I'm in the midst of finals and can't leave my computer at the Apple Store right now.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I recently did the firmware update. Could this be related?
