MACBOOK JUST SHUT RIGHT OFF, NOT TURNING ON
Hey guys,
My girlfriend has a Macbook that she bought last March. last night it abruptly shut right off and will not turn back on. The battery charges and is now full but will not turn on. I know this is a major hardware problem but I was wondering if anyone has ever had this, knows what happened, and got it fixed. Thanks. Any help would be great, she's got all her work on it.
Check the hard drive, make sure it's correctly installed. I heard that some of the hard drives vibrate and come out of it's socket and the computer no longer starts.
To check it, flip the computer over, take out the battery and remove the three screws (don’t worry this is a user serviceable part so your warrenty is safe). And then pull the hard drive out, it sits next too the battery, and then put it back in.

I have a 2008 Macbook A1278. Last night I was browsing and suddenly my Macbook's screen went blank. My battery is not working so I tried turning off the Mac by holding the power button. Nothing seems to work and it doesn't turn on. I tried resetting the SMC by the steps provided on the support website but even that isn't working. Now when I turn on the Macbook I can feel it working but the display doesn't come and the white light doesn't come either at all. Hi there,... what color is the charge indicator on the charger connector? orange or green.
Did you let your Air die from power? Or has it been stored away for a while on a very low charge?
What happens when you try to power on? nothing?
If you cannot get to recovery mode and cannot power on at all, then its time for a service call to Apple for in shop full diagnosis and possible repair. -

I grasp that when you power on the notebook it flashes 3 times but does not boot to Windows. Here is a link to Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps that will help you determine the cause.

I always leave my iMessage on. It stopped working so I shut it off and turned it back on. The switch says on but it won't activate.

Are you using full page zoom?

The other suggestions are about increasing the minimum font size as set via the Preferences > content tab.

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages if the text is too small and you need to increase it.

My iMac won't boot up fully. It stays stuck in the gray screen with the pinwheel spinning, then after about 5 minutes just shuts itself off.
Try SMC Reset (unplug it from the back of the computer for 10 seconds then plug it back. in)
Try PRAM Reset Cmd + OPtion + P + R on start up.
Try safe boot - hold down shift on start up.
Try booting to install dvd (C on start up) or recovery hd (CMD + R) and using disk utility to run a verify and repair. If you still can't boot after that reinstall the operating system. If you can't find the disc or it wont boot to the disc.
Try single mode which is cmd+S on start up. It will open with a terminal looking window in the terminal. type in /sbin/fsck -TL. If it returns *system has been modified* continue to type that command in until it comes back with macintosh hd seems to be ok. If after 5 tries it still gives you system has been modified. You may have to replace the hard drive. -

FIRST, call your carrier and ask if they have a local network outage. Also try moving a few miles from your current location to see if you have coverage elsewhere. Next, contact your carrier and get a replacement SIM. If that doesn't fix it take it to an Apple store for evaluation. If it is defective they will replace it.

Ive shut it off and turned it back on , when it asks for the password I put it in and push join but nothing happens.Try resetting your network setting on your iPhone. Go to your Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. (this will delete any saved wi-fi passwords that are currently on the phone). If that doesn't resolve the issue. Try connecting the phone to your computer and doing a back up and restore, once it is restored set it up as a new iPhone (very important step) then test the issue. If it resolves the issue reconnect your phone and then restore it from the back up you created earlier. Follow this article if you want to do the back up and restore.

I purchased my macbook pro about two months ago. I had no issues with it what so ever. This morning i took it off the charger because it was fully charged because it showed the green light. When i came back home i turned my computer back on , entered my password and it shut off . i tried turning it back onbut it wont turn back on and neither woul it charge . Its not turning on and its not charging.

My MacBook will just shut off for no reason when i am doing work and such. I did a virus scan and all and found nothing. What is going on and why would it do this? Is there anyway to fix it?

AugustI had the same problem with my Macbook. There appears to have been an issue with the original design of the heat sink for the microprocessor. I sent my Macbook in for repair a couple of weeks ago, and Apple replaced the heat sink. The Macbook has been working well since the repair.
Either call Applecare, or take it into an Authorized Apple store/repair center. In either case, it will need to go in for repair.
My repair took about a week (heatsink was on backorder). I've had other repair work done by Apple (other computers I've owned). Excluding the wait for the backordered Heatsink, My experience has been a turn-around time (excluding shipping) of < 48hours.
p.s. Be sure to discuss any other issues you may be having at the time you schedule service. My Macbook also had the discoloration issue where my hands rested on the case during typing (known issue with early MacBooks). Both issues were addressed during the repair.
