MacBook LCD screen part number

Hi there,
I just gave up trying finding the part number of the LCD screen of a MacBook. I have searched all over this site and gone thru pages and pages of this discussion forum. Have tried narrowing down my search using the search field + search tips to no avail. I don't have the computer with me so I can't dissasemble it in order to get the part number.
Would anybody know what the part number is?. I believe they only come in 13" size.
Thanks very much in advance.
Cheers,
Victor

if you need a display panel, ifixit.com & powerbookmedic.com both have them.

  • X200s LCD Spare Screen Part Number: LTD121EQ3B

    Hello,
I am looking for a new LCD screen to replace my broken LCD screen for Lenovo X200s. Where I search for this LCD screen, the spare lcd screen is too expensive.
Is there an alternative one that will fit into this screen? Can we not use any other 12.1" LED screen that will fit?
I think it is a bad decision to buy the laptop which has such expensive LCD screen. If anyone has any experience, please advise.
    Thanks
    Kabeer.

    Hi Lead_Org,
Thanks for the quick reply. My main issue is that: the part number LTD121EQ3B that matches the Lenovo X200s of mine is very expensive costing me around $355 + delivery charge.
There is no cheap alternative at all. There are several 12.1" LED screens available for HP, Samsung laptops which are around $130 online. So I am regretting that I am stuck with a laptop with spare parts that are very expensive.
I was looking for some help if someone has any experience in fitting a cheaper alternative screen to get around this issue.
    Thanks,

  • MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.16GHz A1150 LCD Manufacturers Part number

Hi there. Can anyone in the know tell me what the manufacturers part number is for this laptop? I'm aware there are 2 possible, a CHIMEI and a Samsung I think.
I know it can be found by going to the system prefs>colour but I don't have access to the laptop.
    Many thanks,
    DeBaron

Low battery life and high temperature immediately suggests to me that some daemon or other background process is probably running at almost 100% CPU utilization in some tightly rolled loop (read "hung").
Battery life on modern laptops is dependent on how heavily the CPU is being utilized. A single app or daemon running amok like that can eat battery life rather rapidly. And, of course, CPU temperature is also proportional to use, so you can basically think of battery life and operating temperature as inversely proportional.
To find out what process is misbehaving, run Terminal. Type "top -o cpu" and press return. See if there's some process running at 99% or whatever, then get back to us.
You might try installing the combo update. If the problem is caused by a installer glitch, that should fix it right up. If it's a bug, obviously that won't help. I couldn't begin to guess which it is.

  • My MacBook LCD screen got grey fuzzy dot

    Hi all,
My Macbook book just used for ~ 3 months old, today when I start
to draft some letter at pages I noticed my LCD screen having one gray
fuzzy dot at one specific location of the LCD screen. I try to on/off the macbook
but the dot still appeared permanently at that specific location of LCD screen.
I would like to know if any one of you have facing this problem before? and
what the solution for this problem...?
    B/Regards..Alex Ooi

Is it in the menubar? I know that I thought that I was having screen problems but as it turned out that it was just part of my background that was getting blurred by the menubar.

  • Macbook Pro 17 part number question

If the computer has the part # of MA897LL/A, does it come with glossy screen or matte screen?
I can't tell by just looking at the label.
Do they assign different numbers for matte and glossy?
This is the for regular rez model (not hi-rez)
    Thanks

Amazon describes it as 'non-glossy' in their product description here.

  • Macbook pro part number??

I'm looking at replacing the lid panel on my Macbook Pro 15 mid 2009. According to thebookyard.com the correct lid panel for my machine is listed as part number A1286.
They don't currently have any in stock but I have found some on ebay with the same part number although these lid panels claim to be for a 2011 macbook and not a 2009 one.
My question is would one of these '2011' lid panels fit my 2009 macbook as the part number for the lid panel on the bookyard website and the one for sale on ebay are the same or does a part have to be date as well as part number specific for it to be compatible?
    Thanks.

Try ifixit or PowerBookMedic - I'm sure that they can give you the correct part number (and maybe have one in stock that would be less expensive than that on eBay).

  • MacBoook lcd screen black/gray will not display

My MacBook LCD screen will not display.  It powers on but I cannot see anything on the screen.  What is happening?

You could try a pram reset, although I'm not sure it will do anything.
    To reset your computer’s PRAM:
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.Continue holding the keys down until the computer restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Macbook Pro LCD Screen Works Sometimes / On/Off

For several months my (late 2007, 15 in) macbook pro screen was not working at all. I took it to apple at one point and they said I would need to replace my screen which would cost at least $400 or $600 I can't remember how much. I just knew it was too much.
Then recently I found out that my model had the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor and Apple found out those had a problem in a number of those computers so they are supporting it by replacing the mother board.
So... I got my new mother board recently but the screen was STILL not coming on at all after the repair. One conclusion was obvious I needed a new screen or just use the computer as a desktop with an external monitor which is what I've been doing.
    So now, here's the rub:
My SCREEN MAGICALLY HAS COME BACK ON just last night and this morning... it was working and then Poof it went off again.... now again it's magically come back on.
When working there isn't any streaks or anything that appears damaged on the screen at all. My guess is that there is some cable or some connector point that is loose and somehow like a short makes it go on and off.
Now, part of what has been going on since yesterday is that I just replaced my hard drive so I've had the cover of the computer off... somehow I did something to they keyboard so I'm having to use an USB keyboard right now (might have to replace that too). So... somehow my taking off the cover and putting it back on a few times must have touched something that is making it work again.
What could it be? Any ideas? I'd be grateful for any advice that would keep me from having to try buying a new screen as I understand I have to replace the whole piece.
    Thanks,
    phil

That's a very interesting offer. There are a finite number of LCD manufacturers, and it could be there are models that can go in different computers. The construction of the display and the cables would be different for different computers. It would depend on whether the LCD is specifically configured for Apple or if Apple uses an "off the shelf" LCD and then configures the housing and cables.
Generally, in manufacturing, you try to use as many off the shelf parts as you possibly can. For example, you would use standard screws and fasteners unless you had a special need for a non-standard one. If there is already a LCD on the market that meets your specs and your needs, then it would make sense to use it rather than to have something special made.
I still suspect that the problem will turn out to be a connection one rather than one with the LCD itself. There have been cases where the flex cable developed damage from opening and closing the computer. This would be the first thing to check. A break in the trace or traces in a flex cable would allow for intermittent working of the LCD, depending on whether the broken traces were touching or not.
If the price sounds reasonable, then it sounds like you don't have much to lose by letting the guy have a shot at it. I wonder if he would let you watch while he works--it might be very illuminating.
    Good luck!

  • HT1446 hi can i get a part number for my macbook computer

can you tell me the part number for my macbook?

Do you mean the model identifications for your Mac?  If that is what you are seeking look in About This Mac at More Info...  Note the screen size, season, and year.  Then click on System Report... and note the Model Identifier.

  • Older macbook MC516LL/A... New LCD Screen?

So my MC516LL/A fell off the table onto a concrete floor and now the display is dead. I don't see any actual physical damage to the screen but it stays black. I can hook up an external monitor and get a display,so I'm assuming that the LCD screen is somehow damaged and needs to be replaced. I see a wide range of prices and screens available, does anyone have any suggestions? Are there things I should look for or avoid?

From the model number you have given, this seems to be the part you need
