Macbook not charging and no light coming on
Just today my macbook ran out of battery and I went to charge it and no light comes on. Also the case n the charger port looks a bit pushed back. Any help is appreciated
Try a different charger. If no change, try a different battery. Still not working? Take the MacBook in for service.
Best of luck.

The battery icon says "Not Charging" and the light on the charger isn't lighting up either?
I fell while my macbook was in my bag. It was already dead but when I went to put the charger in it wouldn't light up. To my surprise it still turned on but it said "(Not Charging)". I unplugged it multiple times and reset the PRAM and everything and it's still the same. It's as if I always need my macbook to be plugged in for it to work and not charge at all. Is it the internal battery? What else could I possibly do to resolve the issue?

Hey guys,
I am having problems with charging my mac Air. Sometimes it charges perfectly but then at times much as it shows that it's getting the power from the charger, it says "not charging" and the led light on the charger does not light up. Any help?
Rgds,
Kido-VjThat can happen when you are Taxing the system. No Apple supplied AC adapter supplies enough power to both power the system and charge the battery at the same time when the system is under Heavy Load, when you are Taxing the system heavily. At those times it will draw power from both the AC adapter and the battery at the same time. So if it is drawing power from both it can't charge the battery while it is drawing power from it.

It rained in my window last night, on my power strip. My macbook adaptor (charger) and iphone adaptor were both plugged into the strip. The power strip is dead. Iphone is fine. Macbook will not boot up and charger light doesn't go on. I borrowed another charger and still no luck. What should I do? (Charger wasn't plugged into Macbook until I dried it off.)
Spill Cleaning
And, don't think that just because it was two teaspoons and not a glassful that there is a difference.
Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).
Do not put in a bag of rice in as much as rice will get into the ports and optical drive and do further damage. -

can you please tell me whats wrong with my mbp and how do i resolve itFirst check the connections on the power adapter and the MBP. Make certain that they are clean and see if the spring loaded connectors on the power adapter are not stuck.
Try a SMC reset:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
If available, try another power adapter.
If no success, bring the MBP and the power adapter to an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.

Hi, my Macbook Pro isn't charging when I plug in my charger and the light on the charger thing isn't lighting up. How can I tell if the charger or the computer is broken? Also, is there a way to fix it? Thanks.
Not sure how I would tell if the contacts are stuck, but they look normal. The other stuff:

Hello. I recently pieced together a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15". Everything works fine except the battery constantly goes between "not charging" and "calculating" or, rarely "charging". It does charge after a long while and will report that it is charged.
I have reset the NVRAM and the SMC a couple of time but that didn't work so I ran an Apple Hardware Test and while testing the logic board it gives the following error:
4SNS/1/40000000 LB1T
I've done some research and found this is a temperature sensor related to the battery, but cannot find where the sensor is located in the computer. Would you know how I can find the sensor to test it? Could my battery problem be related to something else? Would a fresh install of Lion help?
Thank you!
Mike
Two pieces of information that may or may not b helpful, the hard drive is from my early 2008 MBP and the only test disc I have access to is from an iMac.Why do you have LION installed on that older machine?
So you say you built a macbook from a bucket of parts eh? Kudos
heres a pic of the battery temp sensor -
My iPod shuffle only worked for a short time. It will not charge and the power light does not come on. Bought it in 2009. Put it back in the box and in my desk. Recently tried to get it to work again but no luck. Anyone else have this problem? Very disappointed with the product although my wifes work perfectly.
Can't say I haven't done the same kind of thing...keep finding things I had every intention of...
If you have the chance stop by an Apple Retail store and talk to them about it...they often work deals for replacement of out of warranty non-working items for prices around half price. Won't hurt to stop by and see what they will do for you. -
I have just installed a new Battery after the old one showed (Not Charging) and when you clicked on this icon the dropdown"condition replace now". Problem now is the computer still shows the same message in the top bar (Not Charging) and the dropdown also shows "condition relace now". the magsafe show the greem LED i.e not charging, but providing power. If you disconnect the magsafe the computer powers off instantly confirming we have power. I have carried out resetting the SMC controller and still no change. Tested the standby voltage on the magsafe pins etc, all in spec. What should I do now, as I don't want to keep spending more and more. Bellow is the info from the system profiler.

My iPhone 4 will not charge and is now dead.
My iPhone 4 will not charge and is now dead. I updated the software about 2 weeks ago but since the phone is dead I can find out which version I have. It started giving me the prompt "this accessory does not support charging this device". I tried charging in my car, two separate wall chargers and on my MacBook Pro. Have never had a problem charging it before. When I would try to charge it, I would get a green battery icon with a plug in it, indicating the battery was fully charged. I now have it plugged into a wall charger, it shows the lighting bolt and nearly drained battery but the phone will not turn on. Any ideas?

I ordered a new adapter "60w MagSafe Power Adapter" plugged it in, and it lit up, but now my battery information on the screen says "Not Charging" and If I unplug the adapter, the computer completely shuts down. I had no problems with the battery or the adapter before the "meltdown" Gosh, My Mac was still charging even while in fire hazard mode Lol! Why is the new MagSafe adapter not charging my MacBook?
