Macbook not waking with bluetooth

Feb 2011 MBP OSX 10.9.4
External Display: Asus PB278Q using display port input.
Occasionally when switching from another source on the monitor, my MBP will only wake by opening the lid.  It occasionally does not respond to any other user input like the bluetooth keyboard or trackpad.  The 'Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer' is already checked.

Tried these steps : http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=20036064#post20036064
I look at the power management too. pmset -g showed hibernatemode 0. I Changes it to 3 and it seems to solve part of the issue.
Can you check if it solve your issue too?

  • MacBook not pairing with Bluetooth Audio Sink Typhoon

I did not have success trying to get my MacBook to pair with a Typhoon Bluetooth Audio Receiver Set (http://www.typhoon.de/en/art.php?p=1523&pv=3 ).
The Typhoon device claims to be a A2DP-SNK (stereo audio sink) .
My MacBook (10.4.8 up to date, with a Bluetooth-MightyMouse) Bluetooth-Assistant finds it in "Search-all"-Mode and labels it as "BT Receiver", and also finds it if I search for Headsets alone.
But after that, it just sits there and "collects additional information.", which "should take only seconds".
There is no timeout on this, no error message is given either.
Actually, with this Audio-Receiver came an Audio-Transmitter (a USB-BT-Dongle). Connecting this with a MacBook USB-Port does not result in any reaction of the machine.
The BT-Dongle should be able to do most BT-profiles, including GAP,SPP,HSP,HID and A2DP.
The System.log does not show anything, except for a "kernel[0]: (3795: ps)tfp: failed on 0:" happening every 3 seconds continually.
I'm hoping for any ideas... Or should I dump this device?
Did anyone of you get an audio-sink (with Line-Out) working with OSX?
    Thanks,
    visioneer7

I've just found out that my Macbook's Bluetooth spec is Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and my keyboard's Bluetooth is 3.0. Would this be of any issue?

  • Current Android 2.1 OS Not Compatible with Bluetooth Voice Activation

After spending two frustrating days trying to make Bluetooth Voice Activation work with the HTC Incredible Android, I found out from HTC technical support that the Android 2.1 OS is not compatible with Bluetooth Voice Activation.  Supposedly changes to the operating system will correct the problem, but you're out of luck until then.....whenever 'then' is!  It appears that Verizon and HTC  have not choosen to include that information in their marketing material.  A bit irresponsible, especially if you live in a state that requires handsfree operation of your phone in an automobile.

It seems that Moto has a workaround in 2.1 on the Droid X:
I was just at VZW store this morning looking at the Droid X (which is currently at 2.1), and specifically asked an employee about this and he showed that it's solved on the Droid X -- he paired his bluetooth and demo'd handsfree dialing it for me.
Unfortunately, the Droid X is probably too large for me or my wife and the Droid Incredible doesn't have a solution for bluetooth handsfree dialing (yet).

  • Macbook not waking up from 'sleep'

    Hi there,
I got an really annoying Problem with my 4-Month old Macbook Pro and I hope you guys here can help.
My Macbook Pro does not wake up from sleep, the sleep indicator is solid and not pulsating at all.
The strange thing is, when I initiate Standby the sleep indicator is pulsating, also I can wake my mac up. So my macbook is not waking up if it goes to sleep by its self.
In Addition it is possible to wake my macbook up few seconds after it automatically goes to sleep.
But if is goes to sleep automatically and I don't touch it for few hours I cannot wake it up again.
I already did a PRAM, SMC reset. no change.
Maybe I should mention that my macbook pro is hooked up on an external Display. But not directly connected, there is a kvm switch in between. So I can switch between PC1(PC1Display) & MAC1(PC1Display+MAC1Display) Configurations.
any ideas what the problem could be?
    Thanks, TimmyX

I seem to be having the problem as well.
Occasionally when waking it will work. the machine wakes up to a white screen and a little progress bar at the bottom. then the screen comes back.
other times the screen stays black. it seems the computer itself is not sleeping but the screen is black and the Fkeys don't work to either to either change the dim settings on the monitor or keyboard.
I usually have to force shut down the computer to get it back.
I tried the fix I found online about turing off the ethernet port then re activating it after a restart and that seemed to work.
Then I updated to 10.6.2 (using the combo updater NOT software update) and the problem is back.
I now have done the ethernet off and on fix again. I hope it will wor.
I have found a lot opf people with this problem...
I did a clean install of 10.6 and then used migration assistant for my files and prefs... but not my applications since I was migrating from a powerbook g4.
Maybe some pref or setting that was migrated for many of us is causing it...
Are there others with the problem who are on a NEW mac without any migration?
Hope we can help get to the bottom of this.

  • Macbook automatically pairs with bluetooth speaker device

    Hi
I've got a little problem with my Macbook (late 2008 aluminium unibody).
I have a Belkin bluetooth device that is connected to my surround sound system so that I can stream music from my Macbook to the sound system.
When I leave the bluetooth on my Mac switched on (not paired with the Belkin device however) and I let my Mac go into sleeping mode. Then when I power up my Macbook again it pairs automatically with the Belkin device. I don't want this to happen because if I want to use the device I want to select it in the bluetooth menu in the top menu bar myself.
I had the same problem with OS X Mavericks, but after a reinstall of OS X (which I did for other reasons) it didn't pair automatically anymore. And now since my update to Yosemite I have the same problem again. So there must be a way to fix this.
Does anyone know a solution for this?

  • Iphone 4 ios 6 does not pair with bluetooth on 2008 BMW 325i

I just updated my iphone 4 to IOS 6 this morning.  I got in my car and tried to pair the phone with bluetooth but it did not pair.  I removed the device from the car's memory and tried to re-pair the device but it did not function.  Can I roll back my iphone's operating system to 5.1 or how do I fix this?

I just discovered the same issue today in my efforts to get alert times synced on my iCal and iPhone after noticing a difference yesterday.  I have been using the iCloud calendar sync since iCloud first came out with zero problems.  Today I discover how terrible this sync is.  My wife and I use a macbook, imac, 2 phones and 2 ipads to enter in calendar information and we depend on a flawless sync for our work and family schedules.
First, the iCal on my iMac has default times that get applied to every singe item, even if that item had an alert beforehand.  But this default alert time is not applied as an alert on my iPhone4 calendar just the imac.  I haven't even looked at my macbook yet for fear of what i may discover.  After changing alerts and unchanging them and activating default times and deactivating them and wasting time doing this i just need to go through every event on my iphone to make sure that is now correct since I use that the most.  What an unbelievable hassle for a program that worked flawlessly beforehand.  Apple needs to recify this and have the sync work like it did before.
    I am running:
    Mavericks 10.9.1
    iTunes 11.1.3
    iCal Version 7.0 (1835.1)
    iPhone4 on 7.0.4 (11B554a)

  • Smart Talk not working with Bluetooth since update

I have been using Smart Talk for many months now on my iPhone.   I have a bluetooth headset which I generally use.
This has worked fine (with the exception that when I get an incomming call it disconnects the bluetooth from the Smart Talk call).
But now, since installing version 1.28.0, Smart Talk is not working with my bluetooth headset at all.   When I first make a call the headset is connected - I hear ringback tone.  But as soon as the call is answered, the headset disconnects and the call is transferred to the iPhone itself.  And the Smart Talk app does not give me any options to select the "audio source" (as it does if I make an ordinary mobile call).
As I almost exclusively use the headset, this latest update has made Smart Talk unusable for me.
Is there anyway I can get back to the previous version?

I worked out the problem... I'm using iPhone 4S iOS7
    - Start BT Smart Talk from in car
    - call someone, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, no bluetooth connection
    - kill and restart BT Smart talk
    - call someone, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, connects to bluetooth
    - call someone else, no bluetooth connection
    3rd call, always no bluetooth.
It seems there is no way to select the output like with all other bluetooth devices too

  • Using shift key not working with bluetooth keyboard

Am I missing something here? Or does the shift key not work with the iphone using a bluetooth keyboard?  I'm using the logitech K810 for reference on iphone 6 iOS 8.1

The shift key works just fine on my Bluetooth keyboard.  So I would imagine this is an issue with your keyboard.

  • 2010 Mac Pro not waking with Mavericks

    Processor  2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory  6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics  ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
    Software  OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
    Internal drives: Mac HD 1TB. Disk 2: 750MB. Disk 3: 2 TB. Disk 4: 1 TB
My mid-2010 Mac Pro is sometimes not waking after it is in sleep mode. I was able to start it again after disconnecting peripherals, disconnected power for the allotted time, zapped PRAM. Did a disk repair with Disk Utility. Is there anything else I should be doing? Also generated this message in console/diagnostic and usage messages:

Perhaps related to this I cannot use Time Machine on a WD 2TB hd since Mavericks installed. When I switched windows while it was backing up it would display an "device unmounted without ejecting". Now it does not mount at all.

Since installing mountain lion my network drives do not wake with the computer. The drive folders for them are not on the desktop. I have to go through my shared directory and click on the drives again for them to appear back on the main screen.
    Any ideas?

  • Trackpad will not response with bluetooth?

    Hi Guys,
My iMac was being slow so I re-booted it and now my Trackpad won't recognize  Bluetooth?
I've tried re-booting again and get the same thing.  My batteries are fine and now I can't seem to do
anything cause I've got no curser to do anything with.
I'm hoping someone can help me out.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    This is a warranty issue.
According to reports, the problem can be avoided (not solved) by using the power button to wake the system, instead of the trackpad or keyboard.

  • Pages for iPad (2) does not link with bluetooth with Canon airprint printer

I am using apple Pages appi on iPad2.  I cannot get iPad to find Canon PIXMA airprint capable printer to print  documents.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

According to the keyboards user guide, the keyboard is discoverable when the indicator light is flashing. Are you trying to pair the two while both are discoverable?
Try resetting the iPad before trying to pair with the BT keyboard. Press and hold simultaneously the Home and Power buttons for 10+ seconds, ignoring the power off slider, until the Apple logo appears.
    Dah•veed
I did all of that but not sure that any of it did as much as simply turning off the computer to make sure that the keyboard was not being used by it. I now find that I could have turned off the bluetooth on the computer or made the keyboard 'unselected' by bluetooth to allow the keyboard to be free to be selected and paired by the iPad.
Thanks for you help on this.

  • Speech Recognition not working with bluetooth headset

I've got speakable items turned on and everything set the way it should, but I can't do spoken commands via a bluetooth headset. I've tried it on two seperate headsets by differing manufacturers, with no luck on either. I tried with a USB headset and it worked fine, but the bluetooth won't acknowledge any commands. They work fine in every other application, and the speakable items bubble thing that comes up shows sound being recognized fromt the set, just no commands acknowledged.

Problem solved and voice control via bluetooth headset has been restored. Here's how:
With headset off, go to Settings/General/Bluetooth and turn BT on. When the list of devices comes up showing "not connected," click the blue right arrow and then choose "forget this device." Shut down iPhone by holding top button until red slider shows up and sliding it to the right.
Remove battery from headset so it will reset. Restart iPhone (hold down top button until apple appears). Go to Settings/General/Bluetooth and make sure BT is "on." Replace battery in headset and turn it on. You should see the PIN entry screen, meaning that your headset is being re-paired with the iPhone. Enter the PIN for your headset.
At this point, try taping the BT button and see if you get "Voice Control" screen and double beep in headset. If so, you're done. If not, try this sequence again.
