Macbook Pro 13" or 15" for gaming?

I'm going to be buying a macbook pro soon and wanted to know if the 13" or the 15" pro is better for gaming.
I know they aren't made for gaming but it's not my only use of a laptop and have had my heart set on one for a few years now.
I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I want a macbook that I can play games like Civ 5, age of empires and sims on for 3 or 4 hours a day,
without the fans going crazy. Any suggestions?

Buy a 15-inch MacBook Pro. It has got a quad-core processor and two GPUs, so games will run better than on a 13-inch MacBook Pro, that only has got an integrated GPU.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro has got powerful hardware, and in games, it will generate more heat. When temperatures increase, fans will be turned on automatically, so if you carry on playing games for a long time, fans will go crazy. I recommend you not to play games for a very long time, because high fan speeds may damage the MacBook Pro

Sometimes deleting the account and then re-creating it can solve this issue
Write down all the information in accounts before doing this
Highlight the account on the left and click the minus button
Then click the plus button to add the new account and follow the prompts

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

ICal on my MacBook Pro has been "updating" for days...??

I have an iMac, MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone. I have been using iCloud since it came out (running Lion). iCal on my MacBook Pro has been "updating" for several days. Also - when I add an event on the MacBook, it does not show up on any of my other devices (they are all set up with the same iCloud calendars). When I add events from my other devices, they DO show up in iCal on my Macbook Pro.
I am at a loss -- any help would be VERY much appreciated!

Chance upon your post and yes, immediately after upgarding to Mountain Lion, my "new" Calendar (Desktop, formely known as 'iCal') keeps having the pop up window saying "Updating Calendar..." (I set my Calendar to auto-launch after Startup)
After restarting it will still be the same, but if I quit and launch again, everything will be fine. Will try the method you posted (the thread) tonight. Although I deleted the iCal preferences, thinking/hoping it will help
However, I don't seem to have a problem with sycning of al events, my sync with iCloud and all my macs and iOS devices seem OK.
If events are not syncing into some of your iOS devices, why don't you try deleting the entire iCloud account on it and re-set a new one? I've done that before when events or other data don't properly sync

OWC has batteries for 1,1 generation MacBook Pros and they ship internationally - http://eshop.macsales.com/.
Your best bet for a power adapter is to get one from Apple. Third-party adapters just don't seem to be reliable (or safe). You can also buy a replacement battery directly from Apple, of course, but they're a bit more expensive.

I am facing a problem with bootcamp on my Macbook pro 15" (Mid 2010, running Mos OS 10.6.6).
I have successfully installed windows 7 via Bootcamp, but I lost the Drivers DVD furnished by Apple.
I tried to download these using Bootcamp (v3.0.4), but bootcamp won't let me save it, i get this error :
"the windows support software could not be saved to the selected folder"
An Apple support article has been made for this problem ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3648 ), but it doesn't solve the problem in my case because I lost the furnished DVD.
So here I am, struck on this drivers issue...
So, my question is :
How to download macbook pro (mid 2010) drivers for windows 7, without the included DVD (lost) ?

Some sites such as TMN GO which is similar will not allow mirroring to take place.

If you still have the old computer and it is a MAC, the Lightroom 5 serial numbers are in a text file.

Macbook Pro - Repair in Progress for three weeks

It's been more than three weeks that my Macbook pro is in-store for repair and replacement of logic board and there seems to be no updates on when this will be fixed. I have been checking online and over the phone daily. Does any one have an idea of how long this could take?

It will take as long as it takes. This is a user forum. We're all users like yourself and nobody here knows. We can guess but anyone can do that. Be patient. You can call AppleCare and ask to speak to a customer rep to look into it.

I just wanted to follow this up by saying that you were entirely correct in your diagnosis of the situation. My computer did have the faulty part you linked to. I brought my laptop in and specifically told them to run that test, had it fail and then argued with the person at the genius bar and the manager. Eventually they offered to have it sent out and have everything replaced for free of charge. They did so mainly because I had complained about graphical issues almost every other time I had come in with problems and no one ran the test. They should have caught this problem during my warranty, but they didn't, even though I mentioned the problem.
Anyhow, after having the part replaced, I haven't had my computer crash a single time since, or had many of the issues mentioned above. I've never had this experience before. Even brand new, I got occasional crashes. Hopefully this new trend continues.
I do find that web browsing is still incredibly slow. Web browsers just chug along at a slow pace, even though I have great internet speed. Maybe I'll try just deleting my web browsers and reinstalling them...

No one knows if there will be a new model and if so, when that would be. However, there always will be something bigger, better, and newer around the corner, so you'd be waiting forever.
Buy it when you want or need it.
