Macbook Pro 15" i7 sudden motion sound with no movement of laptop.

Hey,
Has anyone else experienced the sudden motion parking sound when your laptop is just sitting still with no movement? For some reason, I'll hear the sound. It happens sometimes after rebooting and only once. Then I'll hear it again a couple days later.. and again once. And every time, I'm not moving the laptop... sometimes I'm not even touching it. Do you think I just have an OVER sensitive sensor?
I've taken it into the store and the tech guys hook it up and run their tests and say that the hard drive checks out fine.
It's weird.. I'd feel better knowing that other people have this same problem. Most of the posts here talk about that sound when moving their laptop.

The solution is extremely simple, return it for another. If you bought it from an Apple Store it should be no problem. If you bought it from an Apple Reseller you need to deal with them directly.
Don't wait, do it today.

  • Macbook Pro. Plays city street sounds with no apparent source. Browser is not connected and no city cams. Baffled.

It doesn't happen all of the time, but the Macbook Pro will periodically play live street sounds for as long as the session is open. We have checked to see if city cams are being monitored. We are not even using the browser. When I disconnect from wifi it stopped. Turned internet back on and it was still there. Even stranger, a month ago we heard kitchen sounds as in a big restaurant. What the heck?

I have not heard of this. I know there is a Malware for Windows that will open multiple audio streams as soon as you log into windows which causes both the system and internet to slow to a crawl and sounds like someone playing the radio and changing stations but I have not seen or heard of that happening on a mac.
Have you checked the dashboard to make sure there isn't a dashboard app running that is causing this? Try running EtreCheck and posting the result here. It should list some of the apps that are loading in the background.

  • I got a bead stuck in the disc player in my MacBook Pro, I can hear the head when I move the laptop, how do I remove it?

I got a head stuck in the disc player of my MacBook Pro, I can hear the bead inside the disc player when I move the laptop, how do I get it out?

Rather than burn directly to disk follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Macbook Pro 10.1 - suddenly no sound (X'd out) in flash videos (Youtube)

Title says it all. System is 10.8.3, all possible system updates installed and relevant software including latest available version of Adobe flash player.
Youtube videos in browsers (Safari and Firefox) show an X'd volume control and have no sound. All system sounds and other video coming from machine (eg iTunes) perfectly fine.
Problem exists for all sound outputs, ie internal speakers, USB out sound and Thunderbolt out (cinema display).
Have tried several restarts and checked all preference settings in browsers.
Sound settings in system preferences are correct (not muted).
Have tried adjustments in the audio midi setttings with no luck.
Have tried PRAM and SMC resets, no dice.
This suddenly happened in the last week or so. Previously, this issue did not exist, atlhough I don't know exactly when it might have cropped up since I don't watch that much Youtube.
Pulling out my hair with this issue.
    Any insight appreciated!

    Quit Safari.
    Update Flash Player.
System Preferences > Other > Flash Player > Advanced > Updates > "Check Now"
    Follow the prompts.
    Relaunch Safari.

My apple macbook pro retina 15'' ME664 has problems with sound.Either there will be no sound at all or at startup there il be very scary and broken sound and afterwards still there would be no sound.Secondly , it does not start in one shot.atleast 2 to 3 times pressing power button for longer time starts it up and afterwards still there will be no sound. Please help

This morning i was not able to hear sound on my recently purchased  macbookpro retina 15 inch model. My attempts to resolve this issue by going to system preferences and removing the mute box that was ticked as active. i had downloaded much earlier a mac version of logmein app and noticed that in the sound  box noted above that there was a bar indicating that the default was now to logmein. i had never used this app. Why it started today, i have no idea. I moved the logmein application to trash and deleted the app , however it did not remove the default option which still blocked the sound.
Going to a macforum gave the tha anser that to remove the logmein app, it first had to be reinstalled a nd them use the uninstaller option ftrom the dropdown menu. for now that has resolved the failure to allow sound oputput.

  • MacBook Pro's dispaly suddenly went dark, why?

While I was doing research online, my MacBook Pro's screen suddenly went and stayed dark. There was no warning, no previous sign of trouble. The computer was plugged into to its AC power supply. I turned it off with the power button, waited a minute then turned it on again, the familiar chime signifying a healthy Mac sounded, but the display remained dark. I shut it down again, the restarted using the key combination for resetting the P RAM (command/option/p/r) the P RAM was reset several times (all with familiar healthy Mac chime) but the display remained dark. What's going on. Later I will attempt to start from a DiskWarrior DVD to help determine whether this is a software or hardware problem. (If the disk starts normally and the screen lights up that would indicate a software issue, if not then it would suggest a hardware problem.  I would be most appreciative any insight or help. Thanks in advance

As the screen is dark all the time, I would say it is a hardware issue (it happens when OS X is not loaded too), probably referred to the display. However, I would recommend you to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller for a diagnose in order to know what it is failing in your MacBook Pro.

Turn off Find My iPhone in iCloud on the iDevice.
Log out of iMessage, Facetime, remove Apple ID from iTunes & App Store.
Use Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Then set it up as a new iPhone with your own Apple ID.

  • Pawtec UltraSlim External USB 3.0 on MacBook Pro 1,1 A1150 (Mid 2006) with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

    Hi,
I've quite a problem with my brand new Pawtec UltraSlim External USB 3.0 BluRay Burner (it is build around the MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ265 burner).
Writer works great with MacBook Pro5,5 13" A1278 (mid 2009), but things are completely different on MacBook Pro 1,1 A1150 (Mid 2006). When I insert a CD or DVD, burner tries to read it but after second stops. This pattern repeats over and over again. The only effect of all these attempts is burner unpleasant sound. The same thing happens on the Windows XP installed as a bootcamp on this MacBook (Mid 2006). I tried to solve the problem in the Disc Utility, but it doesn't recognise the writer properly. The writer appears there only for a few seconds and then disappears. What is more, when it is visible, all the buttons (options) are disactive.
As I said, this problem only occurs on the older MacBook Pro 1,1 A1150 (Mid 2006) with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
On the newer MacBook Pro 5,5 13" A1278 (mid 2009) also with 10.6.8 Snow Leopard everythng works fine. Even on Windows XP installed as bootcamp on the newer Mac, burner works with flying colours.
If the software (Operating systems) are the same, that makes clear that something must be wrong with the hardware. But is the difference between these two MacBooks so great, that it makes impossible to read simple CD/DVD from external drive?
I didn't find any drivers/software for this burner on Pawtec as well as on Matshita webpage. PatchBurn works only up to Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger so this also isn't a solution.
Have You ever encounter this kind of problem? I will be gratefull for any ideas, solutions.
    Thank You
    Greetings
    Jacoszek

Anyone has any advice? Or the problem is just the age and incompatibility of the old MacBook Pro 1,1 A1150 (Mid 2006) and the best way will be to change it into something newer?

  • MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 Compatibility issue with Bose Companion 5 USB Speakers on Mavericks

Hi, I wonder if somebody has compatibility issues of new MacBook Pro Retina (late 2013) and Bose Companion 5 USB speakers? They work fine on a left USB port on my MacBook Pro, but doesn't work at all on a right one: USB speakers are not recognised or if recognised as "Uknown Audio Device", they doesn't work any way and iTunes stops playing till I take USB cable out.
I tested them already on two identical machines - the same issue: left USB port works fine, right one - not.
While comparing, I tested this audio device also with other MacBooks:
MacBook Pro 15" 2008 (Mavericks) - both USB ports work fine
MacBook 13" 2010 (Mountain Lion) - both USB ports work fine
MacBook Pro 13" Retina early 2013 (Mavericks) - both USB ports work fine
So it is somehow related exactly to the MacBook Pro Retina 15" Retina late 2013 with Maverics. I guess some sound card and USB port communication issue. Does any body exeriences such problems as well?

    Hi,
Im having USB problems with storage devices and android phone connections
    Thanks

  • My MacBook Pro has no audio.  Sounds preferences showing output is Optical digital-out port.  How do I change this to built-in speakers?

My MacBook Pro has no audio.  Sounds preferences showing output is Optical digital-out port.  How do I change this to built-in speakers?

I experienced this same problem yesterday on my MacBook Pro,  still searching for a solution, several other posts here indicate people have been experiencing this since at lease 2007.  I have  yet to find a clear solution.
It appears that occasionally inserting headphone causes this, it turns on the Optical digital-out port feature (red light glows inside the headphone port) and takes away the internal speakers option.   Restarting did not restore it, but for some reason after sitting asleep overnight the sound started working again and the internal speaker option return in the Sound - Output Window, and the Optical Digital-out option went away.
Here is another post with some ideas on this

  • My Macbook Pro (13-2010) cannot play sound without a headphone

    Hi all,
I tried my best to solve this problem but cannot make it. Could anyone shed some light on it?
My Macbook Pro (13-2010) can play sound well with a headphone, everything is OK. But when I unplug the headphone, it cannot play sound. The keys on the keyboard cannot adjust the sound. A sound adjustment sigh will appear on the screen, with a stop sign at the bottem of the full volumn bar. The volumn bar does not change when I tried to change it by function keys.
It just happened several days ago and I do not know why.
    Thank you for your help.
    Best,
    Vincent

hmm... I got it worked by plugging in the headphones and unplugging many times...
I hope it helps if you have the same problem.

  • Macbook Pro 15 Monitor suddenly off

I don't know if anyone have experienced this kind of problem. But this is really make me frustrated.
My MacBook Pro is 15 inch mid 2010 with 2.66 GHz and Intel Core i7.
Recently I have this problem :
When I'm in work open T-Bird, Chrome, Skype, TotalFinder and Microsoft Excel suddenly the monitor off/goes black, but only the monitor becuase the lamp on the keyboard still on. Then I have to push the power button until its off.
After that my MacBook turn on again, and begin to restore all the program I opened before.
But it won't last long maybe only 5 minutes or sometimes longer it begin like that again (the monitor is turn off by it self but MBP still on).
I don't know why this is happened, I check with iStat, the temperature is aroud 60 - 90, the fan spedd is around 2000 rpm, and also RAM still have 500-1Gb free. Everything seems normal.
I thought before this is maybe because it's overheating or the memory drained, but it's not.
So I become more confuse and frustrating.
Please anyone can give me solution or suggestion what is the cause of the problem I mentioned above and what should I do..
