MacBook Pro 2009 problems after latest update. Anyone else got the same issues?

A couple of nights ago I decided to update my MacBook Pro to the latest version/update. It all went fine, I installed them, rebooted it and logged into my account as usual.
Then it all started, my finder/spotlight slowed down by atleast 50%, my videofiles both .mkv and .avi started acting funny on searching and playing generally.
I then decided to go surf some on the web(safari), it went fine for the first minute. After that it didn't work at all, pages wouldn't start loading at all, and I had to quit the Safari.app and reboot it to even get the thing to work.
Is there anything I can do about this, or to rephrase: is there anyone else with the same issues?

"I updated it to the latest update" as in taking the updates that was given. I'll "explain" some more: The macbook in question didn't have any new updates in atleast the last 1,5 months, as I've been working 14h++ a day with the same things and didn't really have the time to update before the 22.March. Sorry for not stating the obvious before now, but got kinda frustrated and didn't really think thorough the question, but I'm going to try give the most information I can possibly find!

iTunes(10.2.1)
Mac OS X Update Combined(10.6.7)
iWeb Update(3.0.3)
AirPort Utility(5.5.2)
After that update my video playback started getting harder and harder, I could watch .mkv files but I'd get more and more errors or even playback stops. The macbooks performance in finder did also start slowing down.
The following updates was installed 2 June:

after that update my safari stopped working properly and my playback of videos got even worse than they got after my updates the 22. March. Included with these things my finder/spotlight started getting slower and slower, until it got to where it is now with files loading atleast 50% slower than before.

I did not use the repair permissions before 3. June(fter the latest security update)
I simply installed the updates and got prompted with the restart from the updates, followed it and then logged in after the updates was finished with the configuring.
I have now repaired and verified the permissions, and can't seem to find any difference in the performance of my macbook.

so these seem to be my issues with the phone so far. no matter what i try with my Parrot handsfree the phone will not connect. The general volumes of the phone seem lower than the iphone4, especially when using the new earphones. And i cant say im that impressed with the battery life. Today i made 2 phone calls, updated a facebook status and listened to one album on spotify, this resulting in a pretty much dead battery? doesnt seem right to me considering apple advertised the battery life being able to handle many hours of youtube streaming over 3G?
Ok, this is good info. It means that right now Apache is not able to serve content outside of your machine. That's why even the native browser can't see your site. Once we get that problem solved you should be able to see the site in Edge Inspect as well.
Here's some things to try:
This might be because your firewall is blocking port 8888. Try turning off your firewall temporarily and see if http://192.168.2.4:8888/yogaFest2013/ works from the native browser on your device
Open a terminal window and type in the following: netstat -an | grep "LISTEN" and let me know what it says
Open your httpd.conf file and look for a section like this:
# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
# directive.
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
Listen 80

I updated Itunes today to the latest version. Windows 7 64bit. None of my drivers work and get an error when itunes starts, about registry setting for reading and writing dvds and cds missing. Anyone else have the same issue. I downloaded itunes again, reinstalled still have same issue.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Hopefully it's been resolved by now - I have no idea how large each one of those files are. The progress bar tells you; FWIW, I only download one at a time - makes it easier and faster and you can choose to do the next one when you have time.

I upgraded to version 4 last week and find it extremely slow compared to the previous version - like so slow that some pages do not even load. I have downloaded and gone back to version 3.6.17 and everything is back to the normal I have known for years with Firefox and it is really fast again...so now I know that there is nothing wrong with my computer and that the supposedly very very fast version 4 is much much slower than the previous version 3.6...so what gives? I'm not keen on going back to the new improved version 4, though I know it will not be supported soon...anyone else having the same issue?

Cant open web pages when connected to the internet via Telstra's Pre Paid WiFi (this connection is working on other devices) has anyone else had the same issues, works fine with BigPond Wifi
and now, when i tried to check again my network preference below the airport tab is showing a message that
"my airport does not have an IP address and cannot connect to the internet!"
then after seconds it will goes back to the first message that
"airport has the self assigned IP address etc....."

My new iPad camera just freezes up and does not store any photos. Also my photo folder did not populate from my backup. Is anyone else having the same issue. If so what can I do to get the camera to take and store the picture. I am running the lastest operating system version.

I went to switch on my macbook pro this morning, would not switch on could hear fan in background battery 96% but would not turn on, disconnected power supply twice the plugged back in and worked. Has anyone else has this problem. Only had the computer since April 11. Anyone got any similar problems?
AndreaBasic warranty is one year. You can extend the warranty an additional two years when you purchase AppleCare. Don't you read your User Guide? Didn't they explain that when you bought the MBP?

Is anyone else experiencing video playback after installing Lion OX? Hopefully, Apple will fix this bug. Currently on a MacBook Pro with the icore 5 Intel processor and 4 Gs of RAM. Also, a little annoying, about having to scroll in the opposite direction (up & down) since upgrade...
I have a 2011 MacBook Pro upon which I've been running Lion for maybe a month now. I noticed for the first time today that an mp4 I rendered out of Adobe Media Encoder had the choppy playback in QT. I opened it in VLC player and it played perfectly. I rebooted into the recovery disk, ran permission repair and presto, that file now plays in QT no problem. Perhaps using VLC and/or running permission repair will solve issues for a few.
If you've never repaired permissions, it's easy. In Lion, reboot and hold down the Alt key as it is booting again. Choose the recover disk as the boot disk. Choose the last option on the list, disk utilities. Choose your main harddrive on the pane in the left (if you have several). Click on the "repair permissions" button. It may take 5 minutes to run. Quit Disk Utils & reboot. Good luck. -
Just noticed a crack - anyone else got the same?
Just took my MacBook out of it's protective bag and noticed a crack on the base almost directly under the power button. There's a small bump pushing out of the machine almost as if the pressure of turning the machine on is excerting pressure on something inside that is then pushing on the bottom casing and cracking it. The crack moves outward from a central point in a radius of about 1.5cms. It looks really ugly and I'm worried it's going to increase in size. It's the first time I've noticed it. There is also a hairline crack running along the spine of the hinge on the bottom case. I have never dropped my MacBook and am always ultra careful with it.
Has any one else had a similar problem?

Yes I did read the other thread here but this seems to me to be a different problem as the crack is in a different place and as I said seems to be caused by something on the inside of the machine exerting pressure on the case when I turn it on. There's a raised bump directly under the power button on the bottom case. That's why I asked if anyone else had experienced this particular problem and I didn't post into the other thread.

I feel like I cant trust iCloud mail, anyone else got the same feeling?
This is getting very frustrating, I feel like my trust in iCloud mail are almost none. I switched my primary personal account to iCloud, thougt that it would be a nice step since I have many Apple devices. But the reliability is a real problem for me. Right now I´m waiting on two important e-mails that I know already have been sent but I cant access them...
Perhaps I need to go back to my old e-mail provider...It is my opinion that you are completely correct. Apple is not providing correct information in this case.
The outage effected people in different parts of the world and USA. It is illogical that it only effected 1.1 percent. Mailer Servers are usually clustered by IP address. Google has different IP addresses in different parts of USA and users are assigned to those IP address. Take my word for it more than 1.1 percent of people are assigned to an IP address. My guess it was a bad software load or a major hack that propagated through their entire system.
It is the only thing that explains a two day outage. They need time to get rid of what was propagating. This is also explained by the fact that they originally said it was only .17 percent effected then raised it to 1.1 percent as it propagated through the system.
Hey, outages happen and that is not the problem.. It is that Apple, in my opinion, has stonewalled the truth and acted arrogantly. Not a good things to do. -

I'm afraid that PSE 9 used the Yahoo service for maps and Yahoo stopped that service so mapping no longer worked in PSE 9.
PSE 10 didn't even have mapping in it.
In PSE 11, mapping is back, using Google maps.
You might like to download the trial version of PSE 11 to see if you like the mapping there.

Hello. I've Apple TV 3rd gen and MacBook Pro 2013 all with latest updates. AirPlay works fine till I don't start streaming videos from YouTube. After that AirPlay icon from MacBook menu bar simply disappears. Could some help. I'm using 2 Mbps internet connection.
Same issue here- I can airplay my amazon prime library just fine from my iphone 5 but on my macbook- (mavericks, 15 inch 2013 retina with quad core i7, nvidia 650 M and SSD) it just sputters and lags.
I have noticed web video is considerably worse than local content, giving me pauses of up to 2 or 3 seconds in which video stops but audio continues in the amazon player. Youku video, however, seems relatively stable. Our subscription speed is 25 mbps, so that should be plenty to stream SD video from Amazon and doesn't account for why it would be nice and stable from the iphone, but not the mbp.
Playing light, locally hosted steam sidescrollers like Limbo is better but gives periodic drops in framerate on the Tv. when mirroring the framerate remains steady on the MBP screen.
Games airplayed from my iphone seem relatively stable, though with a noticably lower framerate on the TV than on the phone.
It seems these issues have abated considerably since yesterday's Apple TV update, but are still curious nonetheless and I'm not sure that the update yesterday was specifically meant to address those issues or if I'm just getting a time with less network interference now.
Comcast recently installed a new router/modem/phone combo, replacing our old separate modem and router setup. I'm going to test if putting the network on a different channel helps.
