Help please!!! and thanks for your help
Hello dean200180
It seems for your model, the best bet is to take it to an Apple Store. Don’t forget that there may be an Apple Authorized Service Provider near you too that can help you out.

Mid Macbook Pro 2010 - The screen lid it quite hard to open
Hello,
I bought my macbook pro in August 2010 was my first ever mac purchase however, since I have had it I always find it requires quite a lot of force to open the lid. But when I was in the Apple Store the Macbook Pro's screen lids were easily opened with very little force, I was wondering if this is a defect? Or I could fix the problem, or it might be best to go to the Genius Bar?You are under warranty. Stop by the Apple store and show the genius your problem.

Macbook Pro 17" has screen freezing with multiple color screens.
I had purchased My Macbook Pro 17" loaded with Mac OSX 10.7.5 last year. It was working perfectly untill June end this year. My warranty has expired and now I get repeated freezing of screen and the following error report was generated which says there seems to be some problem with the Kernel. I am quite not sure on what I should be doing next. I did all the recovery options and also did reinstall my mac. Did the PRAM and power reset. Is this a hardware issue or an OS issue. The screen would freeze and I will have to power off manually and after which it would take at least 20 repeated turning on and offs to turn on the laptop. I have taken the backup of all my contents. Now I am desperately looking for a solution. Please Help... Following are the details of my MACBOOK Pro
Macbook Pro 17-inch, Late 2011
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
Issue:-
Repeated freezing of screen.
What all I had done:-
PRAM, Power reset
Internet Recovery
Reinstalling my OS to factory settings
Tried entering in safe mode and also tried verbose Mode.
All the options which were available on internet was tried to fix my MBP
Following is the Kernel Report I received when the system got turned on.

MacBook Pro 2010 - Black Screen of Death / Blue Screen on Windows side
only recently i have been having problems 3/4 times per day with the computer going from working okay to the black screen but still able to see the keyboard lights are on. As nothing happens shutdown needs to be forced by holding down the power-on button.
There appears to be no set list of programs running at the time and shuts down completely at random.
Also while on the Windows side i get the BSOD, and other times while using Excel/Powerpoint they crash when i go to edit text boxes everytime.
I think it might be a RAM issue as i also run Parallels for Windows with Windows 7 ultimate as i need to run some Windows programs.
Laptop is
Ideas anyone?just happened again and here is the Error report it generated, maybe someone can tell me what this means (apart from giving me a Black screen)

My macbook pro (2010 13inch) is really laggy when I'm using apps like iTunes and safari. the arrow on the screen seems to not respond and is laggy and when viewing videos it can be really laggy. I just want to know if it was a problem i could fix, thanks.
You might start with:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
If the above reveals nothing helpful, then create a new user account. Log out of your account and log into the new account. Do the problems cease? -

My current situation is that of my Macbook Pro 2010 not getting a charge from my Magsafe after the laptop fell connected on to the charge corner from maybe 1/2 meter to a carpet floor.
The chargers light on the L keeps a green DIM light, and my laptop doesnt not recognise the charger at all.
The charger itself is about a year and 3 months old as my previous got the freid wires last time.that,
What im wondering is, is it my charger thats went bust ( and should a third party replacement ) be okay thing to buy.
Or is my DC inboard went funny. As i can replace this as iv tore my macs logic board out before all pretty easy to me.
(macbook still worked after before its battery died completely as i turned it back on to make sure my reconnecting of the board worked.)
but since then it has no power, Kapoot.SO, do i order a new DC inboard connection, But a third party charger as £70 AGAIN im not willing.Yeah been trying to find someone with a macbook and charger to test out for a week or two now to try eliminate which it is, so i know which to buy. Both to me are as easy as one another but just so i dont go buying one when its the other.
Hopeufully someone soon will have one, Fingers crossed.
Thank, Ogel. -

My macbook pro 2010 has started getting extremely noisy in the last few months and I had a strange warning flash up on the screen a month or so ago about a power or battery issue… can you help please?
Calibrating a 2010 MBP is not required. All it will achieve is putting an unnecessary cycle on it and shortening its life:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1490
You may try a SMC reset:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Open System Information>Power and post the following from your MBP:
(Make certain that the charger is connected)

My macbook pro 2010 is really laggy and slow any help
my macbook pro 2010 is really laggy and slow any help
Hi..
Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow the system down.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop.
Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
Freeing Up Hard Disk Space - Mac GuidesFreeing Up Hard Disk Space - Mac Guides
Starting up in Safe Mode deletes system caches that can help also. Keep in mind a Safe Mode boot takes longer then a normal boot so be patient. Once you see the Desktop, click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Restart.
And disabling the resume feature can help.
Open System Preferences > General. Deselect: Reopen windows when quitting and re-opening apps -
Ok, so basically my charger fell apart on my MacBook pro(2010) and I didn't have the money for a new charger, I got it in the states too if that's relevant. Basically my laptop will not charge, I bought a new charger yesterday and it's still no-use,not charging . No green or orange light coming on on the new charger either.
It is one of the items that Apple gets criticized at regular intervals. The MagSafe connector is proprietary and unlicensable, so the company has a lock-in on the power options. And as you have now found out, your hijinks trying to avoid buying an expensive new charger may have caused more damage and led to a total no-charge condition.
If lucky and no physical damage has occurred (there IS a fuse in there somewhere on the circuit boards), maybe resetting the SMC can restore charge functionality, provided there is still enough juice: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 -
Macbook Pro 2010 keeps freezing and restarting
Hi.
Last few days I have problems with my macbook pro 2010 model, running latest OS and all software. I have problems with freezing very often. Screen turns to black and after few seconds it restarts automaticly. It happens when I try to open iPhoto, surf the web (scrolling quickly). I have tried to restore OS to older state from Time Machine, but didn't help. It also shows this report:

Anyone knows what this happens or what coud be problem? I suspect my HDD, cos it always happens when the HDD is reading, or it could be RAM problem? But why now? I didn't change anything lately (only systen updates last week).

Macbook Pro (2010) vs Macbook Air (2011)
I have a Macbook Pro (2010 model, 15" screen, i7 2.66ghz, 500gb 7200rpm drive) which I currently use for work which includes some photoshop. I am a little tired of lugging it around as it is quite heavy especially when you include the power pack and wireless mouse. So I was considering getting the 2011 Macbook Air (13", i7 1.8ghz, 256gb SSD drive) as a replacement.
According to this web site (http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/mac-benchmarks/) the Air (5786) scores marginally better than my Pro (5562).
Before (and if) I make my purchase I was hoping someone here knew more about a direct comparison of these notebooks and wouldn't mind sharing their knowledge.
Thanks! The 1.8GHz dual-core i7 Air is 32% slower than your 2.66GHz dual-core i7 Pro in all respects other than hard drive speed. In highly disk-intensive operations, the Air's SSD may make up the difference, but in pure processing operations, your Pro has a big edge. For graphics, the Air's integrated GPU with shared VRAM is considerably less powerful than your Pro's discrete GPU and dedicated VRAM. Nothing in the Air is upgradeable; your Pro can be outfitted with a larger hard drive or a faster SSD and twice as much RAM as the Air will ever have. All the non-resizable user-interface elements (menu bar and its text, dialog boxes and their text, tool palettes and toolbars in many apps, etc.) will be dramatically smaller and may be hard to read on the Air, unless your Pro has the optional high-resolution 1680 x 1050 display, in which case things will be the same size on the Air screen, but you'll see less of them because there are fewer pixels in its screen.
I think sticking with the Pro is a no-brainer. To lighten your load, leave the mouse at home and use the wonderful features of the MBP's trackpad. The Pro will never be as light as an Air, but it's a substantially more capable computer, and best of all, you've already paid for it.
